On June 25 th. a representative from this company came to my house for an estimate. I am looking to replace the gable vents in my house. As soon as he got out of the car I knew he didn’t want my job. To prove me right he starts out by …

Good morning Arnold, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. At Brown Roofing, our goal is to provide honest, professional recommendations based on what we believe is in the homeowner's best interest. If our representative advised against replacing the gable vents because of your home's existing ridge vent system, that recommendation was based on current building science and manufacturer installation guidelines. Modern ridge vent systems are designed to work with intake ventilation at the soffits or eaves. When gable vents are used together with ridge vents, airflow can become "short-circuited," allowing air to move directly from the gable vent to the ridge vent instead of circulating throughout the entire attic. This can reduce ventilation efficiency and allow heat and moisture to become trapped in other areas of the attic. This guidance is reflected in the International Building Code, which requires roof ventilation products to be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. That said, we sincerely regret that the conversation left you feeling dismissed. Every homeowner deserves to feel heard and treated with respect, regardless of the size or scope of the project. While another contractor may have been willing to complete the work as requested, our team has a responsibility to recommend solutions that we believe align with industry best practices and the long-term performance of the home. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it gives us the opportunity to review the interaction with our team. We wish you the very best with your project, and if you would like to discuss your experience further, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and learn more. If you wish to research further, I have provided a source in the link here. https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/DAS/Office-of-State-Building-Inspector/Build

I had a really frustrating experience with Brown Roofing. Communication was extremely difficult from the start — calls and messages would go unanswered for days, and I constantly had to follow up just to get basic updates on the project. On top of that, the work quality did not match the price I paid at all. For what I was charged, I expected professional, detail-oriented work, but the final result felt rushed and sloppy. It honestly felt like corners were cut, which is the last thing you want when it comes to your roof. Overall, I regret choosing this company and would strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and doing thorough research before hiring them.

The sales team was nice, the woman who handles permits and booking was incredibly nice. The install was quick, but left a considerable amount of damage throughout my house. Several split wood planks in my living room and dining room ceiling, and four or five nails that were driven too deep and are poking through my ceiling. There is also damage in one of my bathrooms from water as a result of roof install. I tried three separate times to get them to remedy the situation, but eventually just got ghosted. I'd highly recommend not submitting payment until you are 100% sure issues like this are accounted for, before you lose all of your leverage.

Really Frustrated with Brown Roofing. I only needed a section of my roof done because it was leaking. They didn’t have shingles that matched. So we chose to do the whole roof (even though the price was extremely high) but they said it had a 50 year warranty which sounded great for a multifamily. Come to find out the “pitch” to the section I needed done was too low, so they couldn’t put shingles on it and used something called SBS. Which I was not informed of Because if I knew that I would have just done that one little section. And come to find out the warranty for that SBS is only for 10 years. What a waste. I’m really frustrated that I could have spent 11k instead of 30k. Which is ridiculous. The sales guy just apparently doesn’t inform you of what they are actually doing and putting up. Because I was told shingles. And shingles were not done. And I wasn’t aware until after they installed everything and sent me photos. (Which is strange because that part of my roof had shingles prior to them coming out) also annoyed that a mess was left after day 1. Nails and staples all over my grass and walkways, which I had to clean up just to bring my dogs outside. All around infuriating. And also, if I paid for these shingles in that area, Where are the extra? I wasn’t left with any. And I’m sure they didn’t use them all. They also put shingles on an awning that I told the sales person I did not want done because we would be demolishing that come summer. What a waste.

My elderly parents had a leak in their roof against a vent pipe. They called Brown for an estimate. The guy came out and told them $1200. My father said, No way. The guy then said, ok, $650! My dad said, see ya later. My mom then called another local roof company that has 3 letters for their name. The guy came out, fixed it in 30 minutes and charged them $100.

Had Brown out to look at my chimney several years ago, as there was a leak. Scheduled some guys who went up and caulked and said I should be good. Based upon that I did extensive interior repair to replace ceiling. Only to experience the same water damage during the next storm. Had Brown out again to re-review and then they quoted me a chimney rebuild…which I still would have considered but they went radio silent after I asked for a review of the first visit. They kept charging me after that first visit as well. Very disappointed.

Do NOT use Brown Roofing for any home improvement project. I made the mistake of trusting Brown Roofing with my home. I got a new roof installed and along with it came weeks of issues and headache. I played telephone with project manager Noel, office member Nikki B, office member Bailey, accountant Kim and general manager Chase. They failed to properly listen and communicate. Ultimately I am left manipulated and now forced to live with issues created by Brown Roofing. Shame on this company for taking advantage of a local school teacher. Again DO NOT use Brown Roofing for ANY service. You will regret it. This is my honest experience and opinion.

I had Brown Roofing replace my roof shingles, the siding and gutters on my home. I am very glad that I went with Brown. They were professional, kept me informed and worked with me through out the process. The schedulers adjusted the time line to fit my schedule and were quick to handle the weather delays that we had. The sales team explained to me the whole process and showed me the best value to money materials which kept my overall cost low. The field supervisor came out and did a walk thru when the job was complete plus he and the sales rep., that accompanied him explained the best way to clean the siding to keep it looking like new. The installers were awesome, when they were done with every step of the project they swept the drive way, looked for any sharp items , and even raked thru my flower beds, (they haven’t looked this good in years.) I am very happy with the completed project and I am glad to say “BROWN WON’T LET YOU DOWN”

The person who came out for the estimate knew his trade and was very helpful explaining what we needed and how much iit was going to cost. Our project was scheduled. Luis is a master craftsman and redid the inside and outside of our chimney including a mortar collar rebuild. Then team David put on the finishing cap. The chimney looks beautiful and will be good for many years to come. Excellent work. I highly recommend Brown roofing Company.

Production Manager Bill was out in Beacon Falls with Service Manager John after a homeowner called Brown Roofing about an active roof leak. The Brown Roofing team arrived within an hour and installed a tarp to help stop water from getting into the home. “Awesome. I called and they were here within an hour to put a tarp up on the roof to stop the leak.” — Brittany, Homeowner If you have a roof leak or storm damage, call Brown Roofing for help.
