  After searching for a roofing company and having Blacksmith come out and inspect my roof, I thought I was in for a smooth job with all the 5 star reviews. I am not sure, but maybe since my roof was on the smaller side I got their less than elite crew. The good: The clean up was practically spotless. The roof has stayed on despite the crazy wind we have had. The bad: Day before the install the project manager Austin texted and said they would be starting around 6am and make sure to have the driveway clear and be out of the garage by then. 5:45 my wife goes to leave for work and opens the garage door and there is a dump trailer blocking her path. It arrived at 4:30am… I texted Ryan the salesman meaning to text Austin to see about getting it moved. No response. Called Austin later and he sent someone to move it. No one from Blacksmith roofing is on site or visits during install. They rely solely on pictures sent by their subcontracted crew to document they are doing things correctly. I had a list of times I noticed after time which I sent to Blacksmith. Salesman Ryan came out to see on them and said they would send someone to repair the items which I had not resolved already. Next day Austin calls and I second guessed my decision to have them do any repairs because lack of confidence of them being done correctly so I canceled. Day they planned to do the repairs 3 members of the original crew show up and put a ladder up against the house to get started. My wife tried to tell them we canceled, but they did not understand since they did not speak any English. They had to call their uncle to communicate since he spoke English. I thought I was going to be dealing with a reputable company, but my experience was they are more concerned with increasing sales than increasing the quality of their product. I have more I could say, but I am just trying to warn others be leery of seeing 5 star reviews and be expecting a 5 star job.

  Hey Chris, First of all, thank you so much for trusting us with your roof replacement. We pride ourselves on our communication and customer service. We apologize for the mishaps on your job and we hate when we screw up. This is when you emailed us on April 30th with your concerns, we replied back immediately and came out the next day to make a punch list and correct our mistakes. We were scheduled to come back within 48hrs of your concerned email to make our fixes. However, you called us off and didn’t want us to come back out. We apologize for still sending the crew because we hate knowing there is a job with problems. We could have done better there by honoring your request to not come back. We thought you would appreciate us wanting to make it all corrected. Steven, one of the owners of Blacksmith has left you a voicemail wanting to see how we can help you even further and make this all cleared up. We wish we could have gotten a call before leaving this review. We could have easily fixed this. We believe that still picking up our phone and not running from our issues but showing up to make it all complete are great qualities of a good company. I wouldn’t be leery of working with a company that admits their faults and works to make them right. Again, sorry for the mishaps on the day of install and we are here to still honor our 5yr labor warranty for you and Malarkey is still honoring the 50yr warranty on materials. We are all a team and these things are easily fixable. Please reach out anytime!

  The roof itself is great. I was pleased with everything having to do with the install. Blacksmith roofing also got my insurance to pay for a lot more than I expected. The business side of things was not great. When I signed the contract for the roof, I was told that I could pay the balance at closing. Then my tentative closing date got pushed back 3 weeks. Blacksmith roofing said they would need the balance paid in full before closing, so I was left scrambling to come up with the money. It would have been nice to have a written deadline on the payment of the balance. I would have given 5 stars if it wouldn’t have ended the way it did.

  Good Afternoon Jeannette! We appreciate your review and we wanted to share that we never intended to hurt anyone on this. We did agree to get paid when your house closed, it has already been 3 months since we did the roof. We even did multiple tarps for free and got you covered beyond what you were originally granted. Just like we went above and beyond for you on the other things, we would have done the same on your final payment had we known you were upset before you paid. At Blacksmith Roofing we care about our customers. The owners Steven and Preston would have taken your call and we would have worked out a payment arrangement. Please call in and talk to one of them if you need reimbursement until your early September closing. We will help out. The closing had moved 3 times already with different buyers so we were concerned that it may change again. Most companies wouldn’t go 4-5 months without pay. We thought we were gracious in how long we had already waited (90 days) Let us know how to earn a 5 star review from you. Especially since the rest of our work was worth it.

  We would highly recommend this company. I would like to thank Paxton, Austin and Victoria for making this roof replacement after the hail storm about as smooth as it could have been. From the initial conversation with Paxton and several more with him after that, then Austin coordinating the roofing materials and roofers and keeping us informed along the way to Victoria handling all the paperwork with our State Farm agent and the warranty with the roofing material provider Malarkey. It was a class, organize, professionally run operation. We didn’t have any issues with Blacksmith roofing or our State Farm agent working together on this project. Also thanks to Cesar, Fernando and the roofing crew. David and Brenda Poynor

  A very large section of our giant silver leaf maple fell on our roof during a recent storm. I was concerned about roof damage, but leary of "fly by night" roofers, so I contacted my friend who highly recommended Blacksmith Roofing. They sent someone out right away to assess the damage. He reported that our roof was in good shape minus just two areas. They quickly dispatched someone to replace those shingles and were very reasonable with pricing. Based on my expeerience, if and when we need a new roof I will definitely choose them!

  We had our shingles replaced, and Paxton and Austin were great to work with. They were friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and responded quickly when we had questions. We also had the guttering worked on and box vents installed, which were very needed. The roof and everything else they did look great, and we would definitely call on them again if we needed any type of roof work done.

  The Blacksmith Roofing company was referred to us when we needed our roof replaced. We are so glad we used them. Paxton was amazing and wonder to work with. He is very knowledgeable. I would definitely refer him to family and friends!
