The critical reviews

The one and two-star reviews, first. These are what a star average hides, and they are the reason this page exists.

We hold no one or two-star review text for AMSTERD Roofing Company. That is not the same as there being none — it means our capture did not reach any. The rating breakdown above is Google’s own count and is the number to go on.

started this whole thing back in late summer when i noticed granules piling up at the bottom of the downspout. asked around in Itasca for recommendations and AMSTERD came up twice from people i actually trust. called for an estimate, they came out within the week. rep walked the roof, took photos, sent over a written quote two days later with three shingle options and pricing for each. no pressure to pick the most expensive one. i went with the mid tier. signed the contract end of september, install happened mid october. they had to push us a day because of rain which honestly i appreciated, would rather wait than have them rush it in bad weather. tear off and install was a day and a half. paperwork for the warranty came in the mail a week after. process felt pretty straightforward the whole way through

started hunting for a roofer after the insurance adjuster told us the hail damage from last summer qualified for a full replacement. AMSTERD was one of three i got estimates from. the rep didnt try to hard-sell me on anything weird, just …

AMSTERD handled the full replacement on our roof. The estimator who came out actually knew what he was looking at. He pointed out a couple of soft spots in the decking that whoever did the last roof apparently just covered over, and we agreed to swap those sections out as part of the job. Install crew showed up on the scheduled morning and the foreman walked over and introduced himself before anything started. Tear off was the loudest part obviously, but they got through it the same day and had the new shingles on by the following afternoon. Dumpster was picked up two days later so the driveway didn't sit blocked for long. Price matched what was on the estimate, nothing tacked on at the end. The decking issue is the part I keep coming back to because a lazier company would have just roofed right over it again and we would have been dealing with the same thing in five years.

I had a slow leak in the ceiling above the kitchen that had been there for longer than expected. Two patch jobs from two previous handymen didn't hold and the staining kept coming back after every heavy rain! AMSTERD came out, got up on …

AMSTERD did our roof replacement back in October. Picked them after comparing a few options in the Wood Dale area. The price was reasonable and the work looked good when they wrapped up. One small thing I appreciated was that the foreman walked me around the house at the end to point things out.

We had a persistent leak in the corner of our living room that kept coming back no matter how many times we patched it from the inside. Turns out there were some damaged sections of flashing that were letting water get underneath. AMSTERD …

It started with a phone call, they had someone out within a few days too look at things. Estimate came in writing the same day, which was nice because other places took forever. 햇 in the schedule about a week later and the crew knocked it out fast! No complaints, everything went smooth from start to finish.

The consultation was pretty straightforward - no upselling, no fluff, just what needed to happen and what it would cost. got a crew scheduled faster than I thought they would. They actually worked through some drizzle one afternoon which surprised me, but they didn't seem bothered by it at all. Roof looks really good now, nice even lines across the whole thing. Final bill matched the quote exactly, which I appreciated after hearing horror stories from other people about hidden fees.
