  We are sorry that we caused you any inconvenience. But it is clear that you are trying to make this appear as bad as possible. 1) We did not realize that a wind blown shingle had broken your single pane storm window. As soon as we realized it had happened we cleaned up the glass, removed the frame and immediately took the frame to Ace Hardware to get the glass replaced. Ace Hardware said it would be 2 weeks before it would be repaired. The time frame is out of my control. The cardboard was a temporary solution while we gathered the materials to board the window up the following day. 2) I am confused on what garden beds you are speaking of. There are no distinguishable flower beds. Your yard is overgrown and full of weeds. I did see a 6" small branch was broken on the lilac bush on the property line. We acknowledged that a few Hostas were flattened. You are taking my words out of context as I said "spring has just started and the Hostas will recover and grow back within a couple of weeks". I wasn't disregarding your plants, just stating that they would recover quickly. 3) We did not throw trash and roofing junk all over your yard. The day we started the job was a windy day and some scraps of underlayment and some plastic shingle wrappers did blow into your yard. We did our best to pick them up as quickly as possible but were then accused of trespassing. We also stopped the day early as the wind persisted. Absolutely no one parked in your yard, we only parked on the street in front of your house. We also did not scrape up your siding, all the paint is falling off and it has rotted sections everywhere. We never notify our customer's neighbors that we will be working. No contractors do that. We had no idea of the age of the next door neighbor. regardless this would not effect how we complete our work. We take care to protect all property as best as possible.   The owner of the company came out to our house to inspect a leak we in our roof a couple of weeks ago. He was kind enough to caulk a small area where he thought the leak was coming from, but we later found out it was something more. My husband gave Gerry $20 for his kind gesture and he even tried to refuse, but ended up taking it anyway. He left us with some books of options in case we decided at a later time to replace the roof, since he said it was about 2-3 years from needing a full replacement anyway. Within a few days of the caulk being added, the roof started to leak again, so we filed a claim with our insurance to have their adjuster come out. In the meantime, they suggested to have a tarp put on the roof to prevent additional water from coming in. The same day this was suggested, I called the office to request for someone to come out to place a tarp ASAP. They said no problem, it would be done the same day and there would be no charge. It was not put on the same day. I had to text Gerry to let him know that we were told it would be put on, but wasn't. It was put up on a Saturday morning and the adjuster came Sunday. I was also texted at 7:30pm Saturday night with Gerry saying "I just want to clarify that we do charge for tarping roof. The girl in the office was mistaken" and he also didn't seem to be happy that he was asked to come to the Sunday 8am appointment with the adjuster (even though he insisted that we let him know when the appointment was so that he could be here at the same time). He said "it is unusual for adjusters to come on Sundays, so if there are any changes, please let me know." Gerry and the insurance adjuster came out Sunday morning. At the end of the meeting (when Gerry knew that insurance was covering all repairs) he said "all you need to do is let me know what color shingles you want and I can have this scheduled in the next 7-10 days". I kindly told him that we are going to review some other companies and let him know

  Shayna, Firstly, when I initially came to do the estimate, I stated that your roof was in bad shape and needed to be replaced. Your husband had said that he wanted to stretch it for a few more years. About the tarping, yes, the woman in the office made a mistake when she said she thought it was free to do the tarping when you asked, because she was under the impression you had already agreed to go with our company for the work, in which case would have been free of charge. Also, we did not agree to come out the same day to do the tarping but said we would come the following day (Friday). However, on Friday there was heavy rain which made us unable to place the tarp, it was then placed the following morning (Saturday) instead. We needed to charge you to account for our time and the materials. It is unrealistic to think that a company is going to provide you a service for free. Regarding the adjuster’s summary, we never received the full summary, you sent by text your handwritten lines of parts of the summary, which were not sufficient. Despite this, based on your previous comment that you did not want to send us all the information, we felt it was inappropriate to continue to ask for more information, so we did our best to assist you with your insurance claim with the information already provided and our previous experience with insurance claims, which most companies would not do. I am unsure why you feel there was a lack of response and communication, as we were very responsive with you, keeping in contact several days in a row via text message, calls, and visits to your home; we went out of our way to help you on more than one occasion, even on days that we do not typically work. Our last communication was me telling you that we need to come back to measure the gutters as the information provided was insufficient. I also tried to help you by providing information about the way to handle the claim. I told you to make sure you got reimbursement for the paid when

  My wife and I could not be more pleased with the work provided by Adept. We had a roof and gutter replacement and both Gerry and his crews were very professional, with the work performed timely and efficiently. After the roof removal the cleanup process was also done quickly and completely. I would highly recommend Adept Construction.
