  Called Adept Construction on a referral. Made an appointment to have someone look at my roof/chimney that is leaking. NO SHOW for appointment. Called twice and left messages. NO call back.

  Mrs Fara, By the time you posted this review I had already stopped by your house to look at your chimney. I saw your black roof and the black metal flashings. I did also talk to your neighbor as I went to the wrong house initially, as I could not see any clear addresses. Yes, I was a little late but I was there. In regards to the return phone call; we are sorry we missed your calls today, but it typically takes up to 24 hrs. for us to return phone calls in the winter months. Because during the winter months...Dec. Jan. and Feb. there is very, very low call volume so there is no one sitting in the office monitoring the phone all day, we return phone calls the next morning during this period.

  In 2014 Adept installed a new roof on my townhome as well as my neighbor. They were professional and clean at the time of installation. This year I began to leak above my kitchen sink. After examining the interior attic space as well as the roof shingles, I noticed that the immediate area had shingles that were lifting up. The attic space had obvious water dripping inside. I called Adept and had them come out to inspect the leak. Since they performed the work and warranty against any leaks. They stated that the roof leak was being caused by insufficient insulation in the attic space that has caused the swelling of the wood underneath, therefore causing the leak. This didn't seem right to me. Gerry stated he would get back to me with further. He requested my email to send me over information. That was 5 days ago, I have yet to recieve a follow up or an email. I have attempted to call their office and nobody answers the phone. In the meantime I contacted another roofing company to come out and inspect the leak. The roofer explained to me that the lack of insulation was not the cause. If this was a problem due to the lack of insulation and condensation, then there would be evidence of condensation on other parts of the attic, and there is none. He took pictures and showed me how the only area affected was where the leak was at. All other would components are perfectly fine. He also showed me across the roof where other shingles are beginning to lift at the glued part of the shingles. There are areas where nails are coming up as well. My neighbor has shingles that have fallen off of their Mansard roof. I have another roofing contractor coming out to inspect to get a second opinion. Adept should be more responsive to their customers and take ownership for their quality of work. They should not take advantage of senior citizens thinking we won't get a second opinion. Now I'm stuck paying for repairs on an 8 year old roof by another roofing company b

  Mr. Mendosa, First of all, we did respond to your concerns. I came to your house on 2 occasions to inspect the issue and the attic space. The first time I came I informed you that buckling plywood is the cause of the problem. I also informed you that it was most likely caused by the lack of insulation in your attic and the attic space in your home is interconnected with an open garage space. You have next to no insulation in your attic and many places have none at all. Even though the buckling plywood is not covered by our warranty I still tried to lift some shingles and nail down the warping plywood. On the second visit I informed you that I would look into the situation again, research any additional possible causes, and send you more information. I responded with the additional information on Aug 2nd, 4 days prior to you writing this defamatory review. If we missed your call I apologize, but unfortunately because of the covid-19 pandemic we don't have anyone in the office directly to answer all calls immediately. I also showed you pictures of the lifted shingles and every location is in direct correlation to plywood seams that are warping causing the shingles to lift. I sent you information from a reputable third party that explains what causes warping plywood. The main cause is too much moisture in the attic space, which is caused by lack of insulation, or inadequate ventilation. As previously stated you have next to no insulation in your attic which allows all the moisture from you humidifier, any moisture from cooking, showering etc. We both felt that you had adequate intake ventilation and the number of exhaust vents are dictated by Brandywine Homeowners Association (BHA). There have been many occasions where I wanted to put additional vents on homes in the complex and they refused to allow it. So if you feel that lack of ventilation is the cause, you need to address that with the BHA. The lifting shingles are not a result of our installation, it is caused b

  Literally a SCAM. Got our roof replaced in 2012. Ten years later, (which is conveniently when their warranty expires), the shingles are falling off, left and right. Ironically, the first line in their warranty, reads: "We will not be responsible for: 1.Acts of God, such as hail storms and winds in excess of manufacturers warranty." What do you think CAUSES roof leaks, Sherlock?? Anyways, this company took big time advantage of a senior lady, who trusted them. They just wanted the money. Take my advice, and stay clear from these scammers!

  I am sorry to hear you are having problems with what I assume is your Mom's Roof. We strive to give our customers a top quality installation and we stand behind all of our work. If you would give us a call and give us your name and address we will gladly come out and inspect the roof for you. Even if your roof is beyond the warranty period, please give us a call. Most roofing companies only give a 5 or 7 year warranty, but we always provide a 10 year workmanship warranty. The material warranty is provided by the manufacturer. We would NEVER take advantage of a senior citizen and we always give special attention to providing them with a thorough explanation of the roofing process, the materials involved, our warranty and the manufacturers warranty. Shingle manufacturers only warranty their products up to specific wind speeds. Unfortunately we cannot warranty the products at wind speeds in excess of the manufacturers warranty. Wind and hail damage are not issues any roofing company or manufacturer cover. These types of issues would be covered by the homeowners insurance policy on the home. There was 65 mile an hour wind gusts on Thursday which may be the reason for some of the shingles coming off. Please call the office. We have still not recieved any phone call in the office which would help us help you with whatever problem you may be experiencing with your roof. If you have a valid concern about your roof installation you should call the office to address any issue. 5/03/2022 : We have still not received any calls from you regarding any issues you may have. We are here to help! if you honestly feel we did something incorrectly please call the office, 630-782-9736. If we don't hear from you we will have to assume that you realize this review is not valid.

  Worker did an excellent job. Did more then he had too. No extra charge. I shopped around before hitting Cost was much less than others I talked to without trying to throw in extra cost for work not needed. Take my advice not scammers. Call and see for your self Highley trust

  In May, we had Adept Construction put a new roof, soffits, and facia on our house and garage. Installation began quickly and the work was completed in a timely fashion. The men also were great about cleaning up the area each day. This is the second house that we used this company for. I would most definitely recommend them.

  Had Gerry and his crew come out and check out our gutters as there was a leak in my patio doors and through the top of the roof due to the solar panels. He came out promptly and was able to get the job done within the next week! Great job, highly recommend!

  Gerry @ Adept Construction installed a new roof on my house recently. He responded to my call quickly, was very knowledgeable about my roof and how to fix it and his pricing was very competitive. My roof was completely replaced and it looks great.
