I paid thousands of dollars for this work but got zero results. 5 Star Roofing & Restoration, LLC is dishonest, incompetent, and provides very poor quality service.I strongly warn everyone — do not hire this company. They do not deserve even one star. Stay away!

My experience with 5 Star Roofing & Restoration, LLC was far from what I expected. From the beginning, communication felt inconsistent, and it was difficult to get clear answers about the scope of work and timeline. What was initially presented sounded promising, but once the project started, things didn’t go as smoothly. The work itself seemed rushed, and the attention to detail just wasn’t there. I noticed a few areas that didn’t look properly finished, which is concerning for something as important as roofing. It left me questioning the overall quality of the job.Another issue was the timeline. The project took longer than originally discussed, and there wasn’t much explanation provided for the delays. It made the whole process more stressful than it needed to be.After completion, I tried reaching out with some concerns, but getting a clear and helpful response wasn’t easy. Overall, the experience didn’t match the expectations, and I would recommend exploring other options before making a decision.

We do not have 'Tim Tebow' (or anyone with the famous last name Tebow) as a client in our system. Our residential installations are done in one day and we do not have any projects on our calendar that have run over schedule this year. It appears this feedback is erroneous, but the author of this review can call or office and speak to a manager at any time 336-780-7800.

I would not use this company for a roof replacement. They have poor coordination between their site supervisors and the third party subcontractors they engage with for installation. They dragged a 2 1/2 day job to five days. One day, the contractor had some issue with the van in our driveway. They jacked it up and were doing some sort of repair. I figured it would take a short time and had some appointments and left. Six hours later I returned and they were still working on the van. They were using a diamond trip grinder near the gas tank and there were sparks everywhere. They were endangering themselves and us on my property. The next day, they simply didn’t show up. When the job was done, I was sent an invoice for the balance due. This is after discussing with two site supervisors that the invoice would be sent to my insurance company as it was an insurance claim. I had multiple discussions with billing and it was claimed that they had no knowledge that a claim was filed. This was after they already cashed the initial check for >$20,000. If you want nothing but headaches, use 5 star!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it gives us an understanding of how we can improve communication and clarity in the future. Unfortunately, even with the best effort, unforseen circumstances can occur and cause delays. Car trouble and the time it takes to repair are one of those unforseen circumstances. We are sorry for any inconvenince that it may have caused. In spite of these delays, our team remained committed to providing a quality roof. It is always our intention to be do quality work in an efficient manner. In regards to your concern about our staff being unaware of your insurance claim, our records show that you wanted to accept our estimate and move forward as a retail client. Retail customers are billed upon completion and work with their insurance carriers directly. We appreciate your business and wish you the best moving forward.

Left our yard littered with discarded materials, food trash, cans and nails on our driveway that resulted in 4 flats tires on our vehicles

    Reply from the business

We sincerely hate that you had this experience. We looked at the photos that were taken the business day following your installation when we returned to do the final cleaning and a second nail sweep and our photos all the way around your home show a clear yard. But even with the best effort, stray nails are an unavoidable consequence when a roof is replaced. We specifically address this in the 'preparing for your new roof' letter we give every client to remind them to be cautious in the days after the construction. We will reach out to you directly to share the photos and try to offer a resolution as we are always here to make things right if we can.

I was quoted a price and the work was completed. The bill came in at 62% higher than the original agreed upon price. I called and they said that they needed more materials for the job. I can understand some incurred cost, but this was excessive. I felt blindsided by the bill. The roofers covered up our skylight on the job as well, so we had to schedule them to come back and fix it. We spent days picking up nails around the yard to protect our dog from stepping on loose materials. I would not ever recommend this company. Please find another company.

    Reply from the business

Mr. SanGeorge, We completely understand how frustrating it can be when additional costs come up during a project. To clarify, the amount of unforseen cost was less than $1,000. I believe your percentage is not a percentage of the total cost but a percentage of the minimal amount of your insurance deductible. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible and we do disclose upfront that we can only estimate what we observe at the time of inspection. In construction, there are times when conditions beneath the surface or behind existing materials can’t be fully seen or anticipated until work is underway. When these situations occur, we issue a change order to document and explain the additional work or materials needed to complete the job properly and safely. These steps are part of our commitment to doing the job right the first time, rather than taking shortcuts that could lead to problems later. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like me to review the change order details with you personally. I scheduled an appointment on the website to have an estimate done for later the same day to do a roof replacement, and received an automated email confirmation of the scheduled appointment. It indicated a rep would also call to confirm. I did not receive any call prior to the appointment, and come appointment time, there was a no show. I proceeded to call the number provided in the confirmation which was answered by an AI bot, who acknowledged the scheduled appointment and the fact that no one had responded to the scheduled appointment. They indicated someone would contact me within 24 hours. 3 days later and no one has reached out. For this reason, this company is no longer on a list of potential roofers to do an estimate. This was definitely not a “5 star” experience, as their attention to detail on their automated scheduling and customer service response failed.

I am not sure if the number was entered incorrectly or if there is another issue. We have noticed after recent phone updates there has been a new feature screening calls on personal cell phones automatically, but those clients have realized this and called us back. We pride ourselves on responsivenesss and regret that we haven't been able to connect. While we’re not perfect, we do care deeply about every homeowner we serve and appreciate the opportunity to make things right. After reading many reviews I contacted 5 star to do a very minor repair. They charged 75.00 to come look at it which would be taken off the price of the estimate. Field rep showed up on time and was very nice. He said it was a simple ridge vent repair and would be around 2,000. Then after inquiring about why I had not been contacted I was hustled for 30 min trying to convince me to do thousands of extra dollars' worth of work that doesn't need to be done on a 3-year-old roof. In my opinion 5-star roofing is a prime example of why the first three letters of contractor is CON. Unless they can overcharge you or your insurance, they are not interested in doing business with you. Very dishonest in my opinion. I do not recommend in any way. UPDATE: After this post I got a phone call basically trying to get me to take down this review from which I refused. Now I see the reply to this post in an attempt to save face after I refused to be over charged. I am not a typical homeowner. I built my house myself. The reply is full of false statements in an effort to save face. They found a homeowner who refused to be taken advantage of. If I had not had health issues in last few years, I would fix it myself and before I will be taken advantage of, I will find a way. I am tired of companies taking advantage of people and in my opinion, this is what was attempted. I will post a picture of my house, so you know who is being honest. UPDATE TO UPDATE: We can continue this for as long as you want but I am not going to allow you to discount this situation. I did not end the conversation, what I said was I didn't feel you were honest, and I have no desire for your company to do work on my house. You continue to try to minimize what happened. You should learn from it, change your ways and move on. If we need to take this to a public forum and really deep dive, I can really get my message out if you want me to. Google is small compared to the reach I have. Do we need to start talking about t

Mr. Dehart, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to inspect your roof. Unfortunately, the right answer isn’t always the answer the homeowner wants to hear an we apologize for any miscommunication. The $2,000 ballpark amount our inspector gave you would be accurate if replacing the ridge vent were the only repair needed. After further review of the inspection photos there was a concern about the decking below the ridge as well as the need for additional ventilation in one area. Our staff simply wanted to make you aware of all the observations. We never want to do a $2,000 repair and leave our client with the impression that it will resolve all their issues if we see other areas of concern. You may want to contact the original builder since the roof is only three years old and may likely still be under warranty since you’re experiencing multiple leaks. If you change your mind we are here to help. Response to update: A call was placed when the review was received to clarify any misunderstanding because we always want to address any negative impression and make improvements when necessary. At no time during our conversation did we ask for your review to be changed. We weren’t able to find a resolution because you ended the call. To my knowledge we didn’t ever give you a higher price, we only shared additional concerns. I’m very sorry you are this upset, please give me a call if you’d like to find a resolution, we are still willing to help.

HIGHLY recommend! They came out, assessed the roof, found a popped nailhead and sealed it. Told me what to watch out for with the rain and then they did a full roof walk, sealing any exposed nails and anything that needed it. Very reasonable and very prompt. I will always call them first when it comes to any roofing issues as they are so responsive and knowledgeable.
