When I hired Whale, I was impressed by the Owner, Derek Nier, but I could not have been more misled. His website promises daily supervision with and English speaking project manager, a lie. The website promises daily cleanup, a lie as …

We respectfully disagree with this review. After receiving notice of the reported concerns, we investigated the property and concluded that the reported leaks originated from conditions unrelated to the roofing system, including areas involving stucco and other construction work performed by other contractors. In addition, a separate roofing contractor retained by the homeowner inspected the roof and did not identify our roofing system as the source of the reported leaks. We made multiple efforts to discuss our findings and work toward a resolution, but the homeowner was unwilling to consider any other cause for the alleged leaks. We remain willing to cooperate in resolving any legitimate concerns and continue to stand behind our workmanship.

Hello Ali. This is the owner of Whale Roofing. You have the wrong company. We do not have a way to leave voicemails as we have a full time admin during office hours and 24/7 answering service after 5 PM. We also do not have a Paul that works for us as team member for sales. Please call 561-778-7800 or 561-467-7946 so we can get this clarified and help you immediately.

ALERT! BEWARE WHEN HIRING WHALE ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION December 11, 2024 11:37pm FINAL RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: FAILURE TO BE PROPERLY INFORMED OF PERTINENT INFORMATION I am responding to your reaction as the owner of the company. While I understand your outrage and frustration, your statements are inaccurate. I respect your freedom of speech, but you are not respecting mine and are making claims that you clearly have not verified with your site manager. Previously, SECOND PARAGRAPH OF THE GOOGLE REVIEW; I was extremely definitively in my instructions to your site manager. I knew when he stated pipes, that the crew had already removed the roof vent. I asked your site manager if the inspector was going to inspect the vent that your company installed, he responded, “he is checking the roof not a vent!” Your site manager requested access to the attic. I provided him with a ladder and even gave him permission to step on the washing machine for a better view. I also suggested he take pictures, as I had already done so. However, he declined, stating, “It was unnecessary since you already took some. Since you have video, the only video that counts is when the plumber performed a test that proved that the vent was not installed properly, causing gas to vent through the garage and kitchen. You are claiming that this issue was handled improperly when the water heater was bought at Home Depot and they sent an unlicensed subcontractor to install the gas system and roof vent. If that were the case, my family and I would be DEAD, a longtime ago. I had not even considered installing a new roof until hurricane Ian, caused leaking and my ceiling to collapse in the dining room. The company I hired, New Era, is licensed to perform the work they were hired to do, which was to repair the vent you installed with mirror caulking. These are facts, not accusations. I have pictures, videos, and recordings of a conference call with your site manager, who was fully aware he was being r

We recently completed a shingle roof replacement for this customer. This customer was experiencing issues with her gas hot water heater shortly after we completed the roof. Following the issues, she hired an unlicensed plumber who performed unpermitted work on a gas water heater and associated piping that was not up to code. She then attempted to blame our company for the issues and demanded that we pay the plumber’s bill. When we refused to cover the costs of this, she posted a Google review that is highly exaggerated and contains multiple inaccurate statements. After uncovering that the plumber was unlicensed and the work was noncompliant, I reached out to the customer via email, requesting that she remove this misleading review as the leak had nothing to do with our roofing work. Below is my formal response to her claims: 1. Scope of Roofing Work Performed Roofing contractors are responsible for replacing the external penetration coverings that vent through the roof — not for modifying or altering the underlying gas vent system. In this case, we replaced the gooseneck vent with a proper, code-compliant penetration covering. The City of Hollywood inspected and approved the roof work, confirming that it met all code requirements. To be absolutely clear, the scope of our work was limited to the roof penetration and had no connection to the internal gas piping or any components located within the attic. Our work did not and could not affect the integrity of any gas lines, nor would it have any impact on the presence of a gas leak. For your reference, I have included photos of the work performed, which you can view here: CompanyCam Photo Gallery 2. Gas Plumbing and Venting Issues It's important to note that prior to our work, the water heater piping was vented through a gooseneck vent, which was not compliant with code. We replaced it with the appropriate, code-compliant penetration. Again, this work was inspected and approved by the City of Hollywood. However

The Hidden Cost of Delaying a Small Roof Repair A small roof issue does not always stay small in Boca Raton. A loose tile, cracked vent boot, lifted shingle, or failed seal around a pipe can allow rainwater under the roof covering. Once the underlayment and decking begin holding moisture, the scope can expand from a simple repair to wood replacement and interior restoration. Homeowners sometimes wait because the leak only appears during heavy rain. That is exactly when wind-driven water finds openings that ordinary showers may not expose. The absence of a daily drip does not mean the roof is dry. A timely roof repair protects the materials you cannot see from the ground.
