**For clarity, several statements in the response are not accurate. The project had multiple failed inspection items that required correction, including siding clearance, trim clearance, exposed wood protection, and sealing/caulking. The inspection had not passed when the concerns in my review were raised and requires a reinspection. The claim that more than 30 trips were made to address concerns does not match my records. Most site visits were related to scheduled work, material delivery, or work item completion. Only a small number were specifically for addressing workmanship concerns that had been raised. The additional contractor was not hired to inspect or review True Blue’s work. They were hired to perform separate work outside the scope of my contract with True Blue. During that process, additional workmanship concerns were identified. I did not request a “substantial reduction” in the contract amount. After months of unresolved issues, delays, and repeated requests for documentation, I requested a credit reflecting the cost of correcting outstanding items. The final amount was negotiated directly with True Blue. My review reflects my experience and the documented history of the project.** Extremely frustrating experience. The project involved siding, fascia, gutters, and roof repair, and we ran into repeated workmanship and communication issues throughout the process. A subcontractor they attempted to use had an expired Washington contractor license and invalid insurance documentation, which I had to discover and verify myself. Multiple inspection items later failed and required several return trips for corrections. Communication was inconsistent and concerns were often ignored or only partially addressed. Several cosmetic and workmanship issues were also left unresolved or minimized. Throughout the project, I felt I had to act as my own project manager—verifying subcontractor credentials, documenting deficiencies, coordinating inspection issues, an

Joshua, We are disappointed to read this review, as it does not reflect the extensive efforts our team made throughout the project. Over the course of the job, we made more than 30 trips to your property to address concerns, corrections, and additional requests. Each time an item was brought to our attention, we responded and worked to resolve it. In many cases, after items were addressed, additional concerns were raised, and we continued making every reasonable effort to accommodate them. The project also passed city inspections, with only a limited number of punch-list items identified, which were promptly completed. Afterward, another roofing contractor was brought in to review the work and additional items were requested. Although we did not necessarily agree that all of those items required correction, we addressed many of them in an effort to ensure your satisfaction. Throughout the process, we remained committed to completing the project and responding to your concerns. What is particularly disappointing is that after the work was completed and significant time had passed waiting for inspections and final approvals, you requested a substantial reduction in the contract amount despite the extensive efforts and resources invested in the project. We respect your right to share your experience, but we believe this review does not accurately represent the level of service, responsiveness, and commitment our team demonstrated throughout the project. We sincerely wish you and your family the very best. — Michael Dechand Owner, True Blue Roofing & Siding

44k for a roof thats supposed to have a 15yr warranty then when you have problems with a roof they installed you can't get in contact or they leave you on hold.
Reply from the business
Hi Jennifer We’re genuinely sorry that this is how you’re feeling, because it doesn’t reflect what actually took place on our end. To clarify for anyone reading: when you contacted us regarding your roof during the sale of your home, our team did respond, stayed in communication, and came out to address the concern, which is all documented in our records. At no point were you ignored or left without follow-up. We stand behind our work and our warranties, and we have a full service department and office staff dedicated specifically to taking care of customers after the install. If there is ever confusion or concern, the fastest way to resolve it is always by calling our office directly and asking to speak with me—I’m happy to review everything personally. We take pride in our work and in doing right by our customers. Without you there is no us, and that belief guides how we operate every single day. If you’d like to discuss this further, please contact the office so we can make sure everything is clearly understood and properly resolved. — Mike

1 Star for failing to let me know bout a UCC Termination filing fee $300 when I gotten the loan via there sales rep. Fail to mention this fee. I finally paid off the loan an was hit with this fee that was not mention from the sales guy on the day of signing. If I knew this I would of gotten the loan from another source.
Reply from the business
We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the frustration surrounding the UCC termination filing fee. This fee is charged by the third-party financing lender, not by our company, and it is disclosed in the financing documents that are signed at the time of approval. That said, we completely understand how an unexpected fee—especially years later—can be frustrating. We do wish you had reached out to us directly first. Had you called, we would have been more than willing to talk it through and likely even help cover part or all of the fee just to make things right. We’re grateful your roof has performed well over the past three years and that you were happy with the work. Without you, there is no us, and we truly appreciate your business.

My experience with Makenzie was very unpleasant. She was extremely rude and unprofessional — she pounded on my door and spoke down to me while trying to set up an appointment about my roof. The way she approached me felt aggressive and disrespectful, not to mention her attire, and it made me very uncomfortable. I would not recommend dealing with this company based on this experience.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. That’s not the level of professionalism or respect we expect from our team, and we take your feedback seriously. We would like the opportunity to learn more about what happened and make things right. Please contact us directly at (253) 655-9898 or office@trueblueroof.com so we can address this personally.

Dion, We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience. While there was a disagreement regarding the scope and location of the work performed, we took your concerns seriously and worked to find a resolution. Although we believed the work was completed according to our understanding of the project, our goal has always been customer satisfaction. To resolve the matter, we provided a full refund of the amount paid. Promises to fix protruding nails never happened so I did not withdraw my complaint with BBB. Shady and shoddy customer service. Don’t expect anything after the sale.

Their motto is "Without YOU, there is no us" yet they will not come out to give me a bid unless my wife is present for it. My wife and I work completely opposite schedules and it's nearly impossible to schedule a time during the day for us both to be there. I told them I can relay the information to her and the guy sighed at me and said they can call back when we are both available. Absolutely ridiculous. I told them I would just call someone else and he didn't care at all. Avoid these people at all costs.

We met with Dan and he was knowledgeable, professional and was on-time for his appointment with us. Made great suggestions on how to increase ventilation in our attic, provided an estimated timeline of events and what to expect. We had them upgrade roof shingles, ventilation, and they replaced a skylight for us that was leaking. They dropped off the materials Monday morning and a little later the crew showed up to start the work. The crew respected our yard, cleaned up every night and when they left it was as they were never here. They left my yard clean and collected all the nails that fell during the 4 day installation. We found the process with TrueBlue to be great. They communicated with us through the whole process, just like they said they would. If you need a new roof, we definitely would recommend their services.

We reached out for a second quote, and had Aron come by to tell us about their roofs. He was very thorough with all the details and options, as well as financing. He was careful to explain the details and took time to answer all of our questions. We are excited about the warranty and guarantees the company and their manufacturer stand behind. Can’t wait to get our new roof! (Will update after install).

Dan came by to give us a quote on a new roof for our ~2500sq ft rambler. He was on time, professional, and had tons of knowledge regarding different types of roofing. He walked us through the companies online L&I information, which I loved because I want to support companies that take care of their workers - providing opportunities for them to became masters of their craft. As first time homeowners there's always a sticker shock with the price of a new roof, but with True Blue providing financing at better rates then the banks, it helped solidify our decision to go with them, along with the warranty attached. If you're looking at having to get a new roof for what is arguably everyone's biggest investment, I would highly recommend them.

Amanda, thank you so much for this amazing review. I personally wait and read every single review before responding, so when you see “Owner” replying — that’s truly me. Dan takes a lot of pride in being on time, professional, and walking homeowners through every option so you can make a confident decision. I know as first-time homeowners the investment can feel overwhelming, so it means a lot that you felt informed and taken care of. I’m especially grateful you mentioned our L&I information. Taking care of our crews and helping them become masters of their craft is something I believe in deeply. A strong company starts with strong people. I’m so blessed to have a company like this — and even more blessed to serve customers like you. Thank you again for your business and your trust. Without Amanda, there is no us. 💙

Brendan, this means a lot — seriously, thank you. From the initial roof inspection all the way through the final roof installation, our goal is always to make the process smooth, honest, and professional. I’m glad you felt that. Whether it’s roof repair, full roof replacement, or handling roof damage repair, we work hard to make sure homeowners feel confident every step of the way. And I love hearing you mention the presentation of options — we believe in educating homeowners, not pressuring them. A quality roofing contractor should always give clear choices and transparent pricing. Most importantly… Without Brendan there is no us. Thank you for trusting True Blue Roofing with your home and for recommending us. That’s how local roofing companies grow — one great homeowner at a time. If you ever need anything in the future, we’re just a call away. 👊
