  Yes, we have had issues with the sealant on IKO shingles installed between 2008 & 2014 making them prone to damage in high wind. Like many other companies that installed the IKO Cambridge shingles, we have since switched to GAF (2014) and have not lost one shingle since, including last May 2018, the category 1 wind storm. It was a manufacturing materials defect and not an installation or workmanship issue. You needed to proceed as instructed and make a claim under the manufacturers warranty.

  Quality of workmanship is highly questionable. Multiple repairs over the last 8 years on shingles. Damage from recent wind storm worse than anything seen in the area (see attached photo). Based on looking at shingles that came off, minimal number of nails per sheet. They are not being called back to fix.

  Sorry to hear Michael.. But as explained to you, this was a manufacturing issue relating to sealing adhesive with IKO shingles.. Not an installation deficiency. This would have been covered under your manufacturers 'high wind'portion in their warranty.. We switched to another manufacture, GAF, in 2014 due to IKO shingle adhesive failures & sealing issues.. This is well known & documented throughout the industry. We have had to repair no (Zero) roofs due to wind damage since our switch in 2014.

  I lost a few shingles recently and after some heavy rain this past Tuesday I had a leak in my upstairs hallway. I called Top's Roofing on Tuesday, Brian showed up as promised on Wednesday and replaced the missing shingles at a more than reasonable price. I am very satisfied with Brian's work and can recommend Top's Roofing for all roof repairs. It was a pleasure shooting the breeze with him on many topics and if I ever need roof repairs, I know who to call.

  We highly recommend Tops Roofing. Tops originally did our roof back in 2016 and everything was great from installation to clean-up. in 2025 we had a leak. Brian came to inspect and found that two air vents were damaged. We are in a townhome and can only conclude that our neighbour’s roofing contractor is responsible for the damages through careless handling of materials. This conclusion is further supported by the sloppy clean-up as we were picking up roofing nails for months on our shared driveway. We do not know the company name and the neighbour has since moved. Regardless, Brian sealed the leaks and will be back shortly to install new vents. Update Apr 2026 - We called Brian and he was here the next day. Not only did he re-check the entire roof for any raised shingles/nails which he corrected immediately he inspected all of our skylights one of which had sprung a leak with all the recent rain. The skylights were not installed by Tops but Brian caulked them all with silicone to ensure no more leaks. Words of wisdom from Brian, have your roof inspected every 5-7 years to ensure there is no damage that could cause problems down the road. Brian you remain TOPS in our book. Rod & Johanna

  I was referred to this incredible, professional and prompt gentleman, Brian, for my roof and eavestrough. Brian, presented a thorough knowledge of quality, durability, longevity, and cost of various materials without rushing me to decide. His explanation could not be further from the truth and genuine for I did my research on various materials and estimates from a few companies. Brian was direct, straightforward, did not waste my time and even went beyond to fix and seal two entrances of squirrels and mice after he initially inspected the roof and eaves trough. We were extremely pleased with his professional workmanship, promptness, cleanliness and integrity.
