  I requested a quote. He carried out a repair without approval, and on top of that, he charged for an emergency repair. I do not recommend him.

  I strongly advise against contacting this company by phone for a quote. The owner led me to believe that I had authorized repairs without prior notification, which is inconceivable. Who would agree to have work done without a clear cost estimate? Without agreeing on a specific date or providing a quote, they proceeded to carry out the work. When I tried to clarify this misunderstanding, the owner became defensive and extremely arrogant, and threatened me with legal action. Honestly, it's hard to imagine how he could have taken legal action without a written contract proving that we had authorized the work. To avoid prolonging the dispute, I resolved the situation in good faith, but it's clear that I will never do business with this contractor again; they proved to be truly dishonest. Regarding the billing, they charged me for three hours of work for some shingle repairs. After speaking with a neighbor who had similar work done (we compared photos), it turns out she was only billed for 30 minutes of work (paid under the table, so I imagine it suited the contractor). Since I wasn't informed of the exact date of the work, I can't verify how much time they actually spent on the roof. Otherwise, aside from the fact that the shingle color isn't a match at all, the work done seems to be of good quality. In short, be vigilant and consider using another company. If you still wish to contact them, I recommend formalizing any quote request in writing, via email, to protect yourself.

  Hello Ms. Labonté. We are surprised by your comments following our discussions. In mid-May, you contacted us to carry out urgent repairs to your roof, which had been damaged by strong winds. The hourly rate for the repairs was mentioned during our initial phone conversation, as is our standard practice for all service calls. During that same conversation, the timeframe for the work was also discussed. We were scheduled to come that same week, on May 27th. We do not typically undertake work without the prior consent of the property owners. You contacted us for a repair, which was carried out professionally. We contacted you in October regarding an unpaid invoice from May. Invoices older than a certain period automatically go to our legal department, but we generally contact clients before this happens (hence our follow-up regarding the unpaid invoice in October). We met with our technician, and he confirmed that the time spent on your project is correctly billed. This includes the time spent on-site plus the travel time to pick up the necessary materials from the hardware store. Regarding the shingle color not appearing to be the same, this is quite possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Several asphalt shingle manufacturers have discontinued some colors. Due to supply issues caused by COVID-19, they focused their production on the most popular colors to maximize output. Colors can also change over time due to UV exposure. For example, black shingles will turn dark gray after a few years on a roof. Regarding the repair work that was reportedly done on the neighboring building, our company was not contracted for that work. Please know that we had no ill intent, and we appreciate your feedback, which we find very constructive and helpful in improving our customer service.

  For the neighbors of these contractors, it's hell! They park in front of people's driveways! They encroach on neighboring properties with materials, and the employees also use the adjacent land for their breaks! I have no idea if their work is done properly, but the employees have absolutely no manners!

In certain circumstances, it is normal (up to a point) to have to encroach on a neighbor's property in order to do our work properly. In your situation, you share a yard with our client's. When you have work done on your own house, it is also possible that the workers will encroach on the neighbor's property. We call this good neighborliness :) We have trucks and trailers clearly marked with the company name and our phone number. We have not received any calls from you expressing your dissatisfaction. Furthermore, after speaking with the employees following your feedback, they mentioned seeing you several times during the work, but that you did not speak to them to express your dissatisfaction.   Incredibly fast service. After I called for a quote, a representative quickly came to my home to give me a price, which, to my great surprise, was the same on the day of the appointment!! :D Furthermore, during our initial meeting, I was given an approximate date for the repairs: early May. Barely into May, I received a call confirming that the work would be done in the following days. We are very satisfied with the team's efficiency and punctuality. Not a single nail was left behind when they left. Thank you!
