The only one or two-star review we hold for Stergo Roofing.

Repaired our roof 3 years ago with a guarantee for 7 years. Within 3 years the roof is leaking and they refuse to respond to calls. Edit based on Steve’s comments: I have the receipts, I have the unanswered phone calls, and I have the emails my wife and I sent reporting the issues 3 separate times with no response. I will not be sharing my wife’s name. We are currently using a new roofing company.

Stergo Roofing is our #1 roofer in Chicago, hands down. Family owned and operated and established in 1971, these guys have been doing it the right way for over 50 years. My family has personally used Stergo Roofing on all of our buildings and businesses for years, and they’ll continue to be the first call we make going forward. Clean. Professional. Fair. Reliable. They show up, do the job right, and take pride in their work. They’re licensed and fully insured and specialize in commercial and industrial roofing, including flat roofs, roof replacement, re-roofing, restoration, repairs and maintenance. What I especially respect is that they’re not just looking to sell you a whole new roof — they’ll evaluate what you actually need and recommend the right solution for the property. When you own a building or business, you need contractors you can trust. Stergo Roofing has earned that trust with our family over many years. If you’re looking for a roofing company in Chicago, Stergo Roofing should be your first call. Highly recommended.

Steve Stergo and Company did a fantastic job tearing off my old flat roof and installing a new one w new gutters and downspouts right at the start of Covid in 2020! Since then they have kindly returned to address small leaks due to difficult flashing areas and have done that gratis. I highly recommend them!!

Steve and his son Joe were great to work with. Any issue , which were very few, were taken care of right away. The crew was outstanding! A couple of times storms came through in the afternoon and blew stuff off the roof. When I texted the foreman about it he came back that evening to clean it up. They respect our plant rules and followed all the safety guidelines. They kept the job site clean and tidy and helped our maintenance crew with new roof exhaust fans that we were installing. All in all a great company to work with!

We recently had the privilege of working with Stergo Roofing on a full roof replacement for Pulsarlube USA, Itasca IL and it was truly a standout experience from beginning to end. From day one, Steve Stergo, the owner, was hands-on, honest, and highly professional. His approach wasn’t just about completing a job — it was about doing right by people, and that was evident in every conversation and action. His communication was clear and timely, his crew was efficient and respectful, and the quality of work was excellent. You could tell immediately this was a team built on integrity, trust, and care. What impressed us even more was the heart behind the business. Steve shared a perspective that’s rare in today’s world — one rooted in faith, family, and purpose. He reminded us of Jesus’ words: "Do to others as you would have them do to you." – Luke 6:31 and he also quoted Ecclesiastes 3:13, which speaks to the joy of both hard work and the blessings of life: "...that everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God." Steve doesn’t just say these things — he lives them. His commitment to excellence in his craft is matched only by his dedication to treating people the right way — with fairness, kindness, and wisdom. He leads his company not just as a contractor, but as someone who genuinely values people — their homes, their time, and their families. We are more than pleased with the outcome, and even more thankful for the relationship built. Stergo Roofing is now a trusted partner for us — not just for roofing, but for any work where honesty and heart matter. Highly recommended. 5 stars. Pulsarlube USA Inc.
