Our roof was long overdue so I got a few quotes from places around Libertyville before deciding. RoofRise talked me through what a full replacement actually involves early on, which helped. New roof looks great now!!

A weathered cedar roof is not necessarily a damaged cedar roof. This distinction is important because cedar naturally changes appearance as it is exposed to sunlight, rain, and changing seasons. Color changes and normal weathering are part of the material's character. However, excessive splitting, curling, missing shakes, persistent dampness, or visible deterioration deserve professional attention. Unlike asphalt shingles, cedar roofing requires an inspection that considers the condition of the wood itself and whether the roof is drying properly after moisture exposure. Our roofing contractors evaluate these factors along with flashing, drainage, and ventilation to understand the overall health of the roofing system. The goal is not to erase cedar's natural aging process but to identify conditions that could reduce its lifespan.
