I am not happy. The repair person had to come out a second time to fix his subpar work. After the recent rain storm, I noticed that the same area has a noticable piece of metal sticking up. I understand that they would try to match the tile on the roof; however, the piece that was supposed to be a close match is not even close, it is pinkish while the existing tile is grayish. The last thing is the clean up. Discarded Tiles was left were ever it fell in the back yard, and while cleaning out the front gutter next the enter door, we found a pieces of tile. The sad thing about roof repair is that you how to trust their word, or get another company to inspect the work. The pictures that they provide in the beginning or clear on what needs to be done however the picture that are provided after the work is done I notice for my job I didn't get all of the repair pictures. When I requested them, I was told that the repair person doesn't take after pictures. Maybe a video cam would be good to give the customer a peace of mind that the work was done.

I contacted Roof Doctors to see if they would send someone to my house to assess a problem with a skylight (not a leak) It was clear that my initial call went to some kind of call center. All further communication was by email.. After …

    Reply from the business

In response to this review from David Oberhholzter ("DO"), we have copied and pasted the entire email communication between DO and Roof Doctors ("RD"): Email from David Oberholztzer ("DO") to Roof Doctors ("RD"): "Reason for Inspection - Sky Light Maintenance" Email from RD to DO: "What type of sky light maintenance are you looking to get done?" Email from DO to RD: "I have 3 fairly large skylights (approximately 4 ft square each). It looks like they each have a mesh screen covering, which I assume is there to diffuse the incoming sunlight. On one of the skylights, it appears that this mesh covering has started to fray around the edges. This has gotten worse over time to the point where the covering is disintegrating and I can see the frayed edges moving in the wind. The skylights are quite high and I am unable to get close enough to get a good look at the situation. I would like to have someone come out to my house to look at the situation and make recommendations as to a solution." Email from RD to DO: "The only thing we would do as far as skylights go is replace the entire skylight or what we call “roof them in”. That would be removing them and putting plywood in its place, then installing new roofing on top of the plywood. Please let me know if you would like us to come give you an estimate for either of those options. Email from DO to RD: "I must say that your response to my request for help is extremely disappointing. Without even coming to look at or assess my particular problem, your solution is to "roof over" my skylight. Are you kidding? I will place a very negative review on the internet for your useless response. Thank you for wasting my time. Have a good day." Email from RD to DO: "I apologize that the answer you were looking for is not an answer our company provides. We don’t specialize in skylights and can’t give you any advice on them. Just the same as a chimney company only works on the inside of the chimney or the chimney chase (which is a

Initially I was happy with Roof Doctors. Their inspector was friendly and professional, and while expensive, they were not completely unreasonable. The trouble came when the actual repairman showed up and spent all of 50 minutes to rush through our job. He used mismatched drip-edge and it looked terrible. I called back and they scheduled him to come back and bring matching drip-edge. Fine,.. so far so good… but when he came back the second time, he tore and displaced the underlayment beneath the tile. They refused to send someone out a third time to fix their damage to my house. They don’t deny tearing my underlayment. It’s clear that they tore it. They just refuse to repair it because ‘my solar panels make the area hard to access’ and it’s ‘my responsibility’ to remove the solar panels before the work and reinstall the solar panels after the work. That’s like acknowledging that they crashed into my car and agreeing to pay for the parts, but demanding that I take care of the labor because my car is difficult to work on. Very frustrating conversations and very slow communications as soon as I paid them for the work. I should not have paid them. I think I’m worse off now than when I first called them, and I’m $1400 in the hole. Update: It’s disappointing to see your company respond in such a prompt and professional manner to this review in a public forum and then promptly reaffirm that your not willing to stand behind your work in a private email. It’s dishonest.

We will respond to this customer's review, by copying and pasting two emails recently sent to this reviewer, as follows: April 18, 2024 Kyle, Thank you for your reply. However, I would like to make a suggestion to you as to what may be a better use of your time and money. I would recommend the following: 1) Contact the solar company to see if they can remove the solar panel(s) above the area of the leak. Don’t contact a company to remove the panel(s) without the solar company’s permission because that could void any solar warranty that you have if you don’t use their recommended company. We also see that the cost to remove and replace the panel(s) isn’t necessarily cost prohibitive. 2) After the panel(s) are removed, contact us to perform an inspection to determine where the cause of the leak is occurring that caused the damage at the fascia board. You can even contact other roofing companies to inspect the same area and/or even hire them to make any necessary recommended repairs. 3) If, after the panel(s) are removed, and it is discovered that there is nothing causing the damage at the fascia board from underneath the solar panels, then we will be willing to reimburse you for half the total cost to remove and replace the panel(s), and before the panel(s) are reinstalled we will make the repair that you are now concerned about at no-charge to you. Please advise what you think about this solution, April 17, 2024 Now, based on the foregoing, it is my understanding that you are concerned, that due to the ‘tear in the underlayment between the gutter and the fascia board that you believe our repairman allegedly tore in haste while completing his repair’, that you will now have a reoccurrence in the future of the dry-rot and damage to that section of fascia board that was just recently replaced. Based on your belief, you are now wanting Roof Doctors to come back to the Property and repair the felt underlayment because you believe that this will mitigat

Hired them to come fix a roof leak and was charged $2,000 for them to install a few shingles alongside our hvac unit that didn’t even fix our leak. Was really unhappy with their service. First of all They Didn’t go into our attic to fully diagnose the issue to see where the leak was coming from or anything and was super unprofessional. In the bill they even had the nerves to write they aren’t liable if what they did didn’t fix the leak because they knew they did the bare minimum work wise but over charged us. We still have the leak and need to hire a new roofer to come do what they were supposed to do! Would never recommend using these guys for anything!

We don't give out times for our inspections. Our customers are always told this when ordering our roof inspection estimate. This reviewer never requested to be present at the time of our inspection. Due to a family emergency this inspection had to be rescheduled to the next day. Sometimes inconveniences do happen, we apologize for the inconvenience in this case. Our business has grown 10 fold in your area over the past 10 years because we are a good and reliable company.
