Art was fantastic this morning! He called after we made the appointment to discuss what the problem was. I received an email reminder and a text reminder for the appointment. And he called and let me know he was on his way before the appointment. Great customer service! When he got to our home he fixed the issue right away. He was so friendly and professional! Highly recommend Art and Nelson Contracting! Thank you thank you, keep up the great work!

Art responded promptly to my situation and fixed it the next day. Was so honest about the repair needed and did it for free!!! Took pictures to show me what was done. I will definitely call him in the future for any roofing or gutter needs. Bonnie Varvel

Sales Representative, Tammy, has been very helpful, informative, and patient while working me through the claims process. Both her and Aaron have been very responsive when questions are asked and they have always been willing to take the time to be sure I understood their answers. Nelson Contracting has completed the roof installation and did a great job. They were professional, on site when they said they would be, and followed up to be sure I was happy with everything when the work was completed. I currently have them under contract to do my gutters/facia/siding when the material arrives. I've been very pleased with the way they do business and the work they've done so far. Great company to work with, highly recommend.

We had quite an extensive amount of storm damage to our house, shop and screened in porch. Nelson contracting bid the entire job, which was nice not to have to deal with several contractors, and worked directly with our insurance company. Many things arose during their work, but they were able to deal directly with the insurance company to make sure all of the repairs were done properly. Once they had completed their work, We had just a couple of items that we wanted improved upon. They got the people here to fix the final repairs and cleaned up and asked if we were satisfied. Junior and his crew, the gutter repair men, sheet metal work and screening guys did great work. Alex, the screen repair guy did a fantastic job after the first screen guy left after a frustrating day.

The Long Term Value of a Fortified Roof System in Tornado Prone Areas. Nebraska weather does not give much warning. Spring and summer storms bring tornadoes, high winds, and hail that can take a standard roof apart in minutes. A fortified roof is built to a voluntary standard developed by the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety that goes beyond basic code. Ring shank nails at four inch spacing double the uplift capacity of the roof deck. A fully sealed deck keeps water out even if shingles blow off. Reinforced drip edges and self adhesive starter shingles lock down the perimeter where wind damage usually starts. Class 4 impact resistant shingles handle hail up to two inches. The value shows up long after the storm passes. Many insurance carriers offer premium discounts of 15 to 55 percent for fortified homes because they file fewer claims. After Hurricane Sally in 2020, fortified homes filed 73 percent fewer claims than conventionally built structures. You also avoid the emergency repair bills that follow most severe weather events, and a certified fortified roof gives buyers verifiable proof the home can handle Nebraska conditions. The most cost effective time to upgrade is during a scheduled roof replacement. Adding fortified specifications to a planned project costs far less than retrofitting later. Nelson Roofing installs fortified systems to IBHS standards for homeowners in Lincoln, Omaha, and Milford.Aug 10, 2026Learn more
