  Wow! Where to begin with all the issues we had with this company. First off, let me say that the roof “looks” good. Most of the install appears adequate, but looks can be a bit deceiving. In hindsight, I should have paid a little more and gone with the better company. Our roof was over thirty years old and the underlayment made of OSB was beginning to rot in places and was generally spongy all over. We ended up replacing all the OSB underlayment with CDX plywood throughout the roof. Marlon wanted to charge me over $5000 to do that and I eventually negotiated it down to just under $4000. The real problems started with his crew tore out the OSB. We have LP siding and in a very few places it had become brittle or rotted, but most of it was still very solid. At worst, the roofers purposely damaged the siding, at best, they were careless and neglected to treat the siding with any care. During the installation of the new plywood, the roofer hammered on things so hard that things fell off shelves mounted on the walls and pictures ended up crooked. It was like an earthquake struck our house. Entire sections of the siding were damaged along the edge close to the roof. Instead of cutting two inches off the edge of the siding and leaving a gap (per local building codes that they weren’t aware of), they tore out the edges while installing the new underlayment and forced flashing under the siding. In all, they damaged about 70 linear feet of the edge of the siding. Now we have to replace the siding, or at the very least, repair 8-9 large sections of it. What made this worse was the response I got from Marlon. He refused to take any responsibility for the damage, saying the siding was bad. I don’t think that telling me our siding was bad, which I was fully aware of, gave them license to recklessly damage it. Speaking of license and reckless, that leads to the next issue.   I had a great experience working with Marlon and MCS Roofing & Construction. I hired them to repair damage to a mini storage building, and I’m very happy with how everything turned out. Before choosing MCS, I compared several contractors, and many of the quotes I received were very expensive. Marlon gave me a much more reasonable and affordable price while still providing great quality work. He was also able to start the project within about a week, which I really appreciated. Marlon was professional, helpful, and communicated well throughout the whole process. He made sure the repairs were done properly, and the finished work turned out great. I really appreciate Marlon and his team for making the whole situation easier and getting everything taken care of quickly. Great work, fair pricing, and reliable service. I would definitely recommend Marlon and MCS Roofing & Construction.

  Just had our roof done this past week by MCS! All of the workers were incredibly nice, cordial, and cleaned up after themselves. The owner was great to work with. I strongly recommend using MCS if you need a new roof!

  The team was not only amazing, they were quick and efficient. They always did everything within the hours they said they were going to do. Communicated with me as much as he could regarding progress, also sent me photos and updated me on situation consistently. The repaired my roof and ceiling due to a tree falling and breaking a struss. They did all the work I asked them to allowing me to work with just them instead of hiring multiple contractors for separate jobs.

  Update 2025 - Marlon did such a good job the first time that I had him come back this year to repair/replace a section of siding on our home after discovering a leak. The work was excellent! One cannot tell that there was ever damage in the area which is wonderful. Thanks again Marlon and crew for your professionalism and excellent craftsmanship! ----- Marlon and his crew were very responsive and arrived on time. They went above and beyond what I had expected... and I had high expectations. We had our roof replaced all the way down to the decking. Their rates were comparable to other local companies... BUT if you look at the details and compare what EXACTLY MCS Roofing and Construction was installing to the other companies' product, MCS's products (and quality of materials) were far better than the others. I highly recommend and would HAPPILY rehire Marlon and his crew for future construction jobs as I could have have asked for anything more!

  Had a good experience with Marlon. It was a 20 square hip roof that had a leak. Marlon ended up replacing some of the sheathing with new cdx plywood and redid the venting with the newer style peak / smart vent system. The job started on time and ended on time. We had a small bit of rain mid job but no issues since the guys got underlayment up in time. Clean up was also good afterwards. I would use them again. Just had them do a second job - a small repair of a hole in a metal roof caused by a big branch that fell. Marlon came out quickly and took care of it. Highly recommended.

  Water was dripping into my living room and more rain was coming that night. Marlon came out that afternoon after another company said they were too booked. He saw the water was leaking through the cracks in the chimney and not the roof. He covered the outside of the chimney so I could still use my fireplace that night. A workman come out to re-cement the existing bricks and after two afternoons of work it looked great. He added extra flashing, and cleaned all the leaves off the roof as well. The price was reasonable, and I was so pleased with everything. That was 2 months ago, and no more leaking. I highly recommend MCS Roofing.
