  While multiple friends chose a west-metro roofing company for repair after the storms last year (with excellent results), I chose to stay local with Lutgen. That decision did not serve me well. The communication was inconsistent to start, and became defensive when I expressed some concerns at the end. My home, deck and garage was not protected at a level I anticipated. There were some interior mishaps as a result of the pounding and for weeks afterwards I was picking up pieces of plastic, strips of staples and some occasional nails. I still have "grit/granules" stuck between the boards on my steps. I can only hope the actual roofing was done well, and right. For now, I'm happy with the style and color of my new shingles.

  We had our roof replaced in 2009 after hail damage. A couple of years later the garage valley leaked. I called many times and they wouldn't call back. Wrote a letter and emailed, finally a guy came out. (After close to a year of leaving messages every couple of months and having the very nice receptionist promise they would call me.) He looked at the valley and announced that it wasn't done right, installer didn't layer the materials correctly and he could fix it. He called his office and spoke to I think a guy named Shawn. He was told by his shop to get in his truck and leave. Which he did. My husband was bewildered..he just drove away. Then they again refused to return my calls. Horribly disappointed. I wanted to have my roof fixed and understood it was past warranty but they didn't care at all.

  I met with the owner, Sean Lutgen, and one of his new employees on Septermber 8 at my home for an in-home consultation. I was looking to replace all 10 windows in my home, as well as the front entry and patio doors. As this was a rather large project, I was anxious about the dollar value of the estimate. I expecting between $15,000 and $20,000, and was correct but not surprised. Sean and his colleague looked at the windows briefly from within the house, then proceeded to take measurements from the outside to prepare an estimate. I had anticipated numerous questions regarding the type of glass that I might want, hardware options, double- vs triple-pane windows, trim options, etc..., so that the estimate could reflect my needs and interests. Instead, I received an overall "standard" package, one that would need to be customized to my interests (presumably after formal acceptance?). I emailed Sean to ask about adding blinds between the panes on the patio door and to add the costs of replacing the exterior door between my entry and garage. Sean provided a revised estimate with these additions the following day. Satisfied with the estimate and ready to accept it, I was looking to finalize the details that were not provided explicitly in the estimate. I wanted to know the precise specifications of the glass to be used in the double pane windows that were called out. There were two options in the brochure that Sean provided to me for the Sunrise Restorations windows that I was planning to purchase. I wanted to know whether those two options indeed reflected what was called out in the estimate. I did not get a response from Sean. I also wanted to know whether the estimate included window and door hardware all of the same finish that I desired and the color of the stain that would be applied to the interior oak trim around each window and door (all interior trim was to be replaced). Again, no response. Lastly, I wanted to know the specifications of the doors

  Emailed for estimate got response only needing minor work but apparently their too good got no response after told what was looking to do never will even try to contact again to good for normal people

  Jacob, Caleb and Andy and crew did an amazing job installing maintenance free siding on our house! Their crew was kind, knowledgeable and efficient. They answered all my questions in a manner that I could understand. They made suggestions that were very helpful as well! Highly recommend!!

  We are very happy with our new windows, we had 11 double hung and 2 sliders installed, they did a very good job removing the old windows and cleaning up, the installations were done perfectly and very cleanly done and sealed up. They color matching with our wood work make it look very nice. Extremely impressed with hold well the crew worked together and efficient they were Thank you

  Dexter and Ethan did a great job with the gutter installation. They answered all my questions and were very thorough throughout the process. The deck crew was awesome. Shoutout to Luke, Tim, Stu, Chad, and Fletcher! I was surprised by how quickly and smoothly everything went. From demo to completion, the entire project took approximately three days. The quality of the work and attention to detail were amazing. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

  We had a wonderful experience with Lutgen Companies. We had some hail damage from a storm and worked with Derek to get our project up and running. He was extremely professional and helpful with picking out siding/trim, gutters, fascia, etc. They dealt with all insurance claims and it was much appreciated. Jacob and Caleb along with the rest of the team did an excellent job in ensuring the project came out exactly as we had planned and were receptive to any questions we had about the project along the way. The gutters that were installed by Dexter and Ethan also turned out amazing--I'm so excited to have leaf protection this fall. It's going to be a lifesaver. Can't thank them enough for the attention to detail and professionalism on our home. It looks great-had multiple neighbors compliment the house!

  Did a great job with communicating everything we had to move the date around a couple times, but they showed up exactly when they said they were done when they said did the whole roof in five hours great work no nails everything‘s perfectly clean

  Lutgen is an amazing company to work with! From the first phone contact to last day when our new Armadillo composite deck was completed, the group of gentlemen were so polite, offered unbiased choices for a new deck, and gave professional services throughout the entire process. We love our new deck and it is absolutely perfect! The crew: Tim, the foreman along with Stu, Chad, Luke and Fletcher worked four of the hottest summer days while enduring compromised air quality due to smoke from northern Minnesota wild fires. The crew were efficient, finished well before we expected, and were neat, well organized and friendly! We will always consider Lutgen for any future remodeling at our home! With much appreciation from Jeremy and Michelle in Sauk Rapids
