  I have a complaint, the company it self I think is out to get money anyway possible. In my neighborhood many of the homes had roof replacement done only a couple years ago and this company had the balls to come in to our town and try to get homeowners to get a new roof. One of my neighbors is 96 yrs old and they knew the insurance company would not cover a new roof since they just got a new one 2 yrs ago. How can a newly installed roof already have hail damage when the recent hail we have had was only marble size for 2 minutes. I park a truck outside and it didn't have any damage on it from that hail. Legacy needs to stay in their area only and not come to other places unless someone calls them.

  42 minutes ago New I do not recommend Legacy Restoration due to unexpected additional costs. I’m sharing my experience to inform others so they can avoid a similar situation. Legacy Restoration approached me after a storm, offering to inspect my roof and gutters for damage. Initially, I didn’t think my home had any damage, but I let them check, and they found what they said was significant damage. They communicated well with me and my insurance company and were able to get my roof and gutters fully covered after sending a sample of my roof for evaluation. I was required to pay my $1,500 deductible, and everything else was covered. Before work began, I signed paperwork indicating that if there were gaps between the wood panels in my roof, additional costs might apply. Fortunately, no issues arose with the roof, and the work was completed without additional charges. However, during the gutter installation, the team said a fascia board needed replacement due to rot. I called my company representative to confirm that the new board would match my home’s existing white finish. I was assured it would either be painted or wrapped white. When the job was finished, the fascia board was left as untreated wood, which did not match my house. When I followed up, I was apologized to by the same representative via text message and that they would “ensure someone addresses the issue and gets it matched to the original color”. The following day, I received a phone call from another representative that painting or wrapping the board would cost an estimate of $700 for the front and $700 for the back of the house, which was never disclosed to me before the work began. After I expressed my concerns, they offered to “discount” the wrapping cost to $323 for the front and $323 for the back but refused to cover it entirely, claiming they were already doing me a favor by not charging me for the replaced wood.   I allowed Legacy to do a free estimate after a door-to-door solicitation. I watched as they inspected the roof in the front of my house, they took at least 15 pictures and never went to the back. They said the damage was extensive and showed me a picture. If I signed some papers, they would work directly with our insurance company to get a total roof replacement. Surprised by their findings, I inspected the roof myself and found 3 spots in a small area where hail had hit. Fortunately, I am able to climb a ladder and have construction knowledge.

  Like others, we also allowed Legacy to do a free estimate after a door-to-door/neighborhood solicitation, and like others mentioned, they took a bunch of pictures showing "much hail damage." But we backed out of signing the contract THANK GOODNESS and had both our insurance adjuster and our regular roofer take a look, with no hail damage being the outcome. Beware of these canvassing tactics from Legacy!! No wonder insurance rates are where they are!!

  Would never do business with them again. Took months to get work done. They added roof when one wasn't needed. Went $9000. Over the cost of what insurance was willing to pay. Had to get a loan for $6000 to cover the cost of the work. After they left nails and debree all over the yard and driveway.

  Would not recommend doing business with Legacy Restoration. Legacy is only in the business to lookout for themselves. They will act like they are working in your best interest to make the insurance process go easy but if insurance in denied they will leave you hung out to dry.

  Hello Matt, We at Legacy train our inspectors to be experts in identifying damages to homes and construction materials after a storm comes through a neighborhood. The insurance adjuster doesn't always agree to pay for the damages we point out to them. At times there are additional steps we can take to help adjusters see what we are seeing but at the end of the day, it's the adjuster's decision to approve or deny the claim. If you are interested in us providing a quote for repairs, we will provide that at no charge.

  We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Legacy Restoration, and a huge part of that was working with Walter Annon. Seriously, he’s awesome. Walter actually approached me while I was outside and offered to take a look at our roof. He noticed damage from previous storms and encouraged us to look into our options for a potential replacement. What could have easily felt like a stressful and complicated process turned into something incredibly smooth and straightforward because of Walter’s communication, knowledge, and genuine care for his customers. From the very beginning, Walter was excellent about keeping us informed and following up with our insurance company. He was always available to answer questions, explain our options, and make sure we felt comfortable with every decision. He even made extra trips out to our home to make sure we were confident in our selections and understood exactly what was happening. What stood out most was that Walter never made us feel pressured. He genuinely wanted us to understand all of our options and make the decision that was right for us. His communication and follow-through were exceptional, and he made a process that initially seemed overwhelming feel easy and manageable. We would highly recommend Legacy Restoration to anyone in the Des Moines metro, and we would especially recommend asking for Walter Annon. He’s a great guy who clearly cares about his customers and takes pride in making sure they’re taken care of from start to finish If you’re considering a roof replacement, ask for Walter!
