  Delay after delay after delay, then another delay. Clearly, they are signing up customers more than they can swallow. Last time to deal with them. I do not recommend it.

As we mentioned on the phone, we do have you on our list to pull forward if something opens up in our schedule and have offered you a discount.

  I requested a quote from John McCarter on their website. They gave me a call, asked about my project, and sent Heather out to my house for a quote. Before offering an estimated dollar amount for the project, she asked what my budget was. I said I was hoping to get a straightforward quote before setting a budget. She was so busy warning me about how “high end” their siding is, I was hard pressed to get an actual quote out of her. She was extremely condescending - saying I should look for something cheaper with their competitors. I’m not going to speculate on what it was about me that made her assume the products/services John McCarter offered were out of my price range. As if to discourage me, she mentioned that the value of my house would not increase dollar for dollar based on what I’d spend to remodel with their company. I already knew that. I asked Heather for a follow-up quote on some masonry work for the project. She agreed to look into that for me. Here we are about 10 business days later and, after reaching out to both Heather and the company, I remain ignored. TL;DR: I didn’t get a chance to work with John McCarter Construction because I’m apparently not the type of person they take seriously. Call a different company - one who treats all people with respect.

  They actually did no work because they kept putting me off until I had to call someone else to get it done, but they didn't refund my $150 deposit, which is why I'm writing this review. The initial work was supposed to be done 3/30. I asked that it be postponed a week or two since I was indisposed due to illness. They kept giving me subsequent potential start dates and then moving them due to weather and circumstances (theirs, often citing staffing or resources issues). Their final tentative start date was 8/27. After waiting a half year, I had to go with another company to get the work done with a company that seemed like they'd actually show up, and not keep giving me start dates that kept getting pushed back. I needed the work done before the cold set in because I was trying to keep wildlife animals out of my attic. Even after having me wait half a year, knowing that the goal was keeping animals out and that my house was band-aided together with wire mesh, John McCarter Construction wouldn't give me my deposit back for work not having been done and my having waited on them unnecessarily for half a year in good faith, and apologized to me in writing for any inconvenience. It was terribly inconvenient and a waste of $150. Even telling them I'd write this review didn't daunt them. So my advice is, if you value your money, your time, and especially if you have urgency in remediating a situation, go with anyone else.

  We are truly sorry that the nationwide supply chain issues last year disrupted our ability to provide the type of service we aim to give all our customers. We did eventually receive your materials and had your job scheduled to be completed the next day when you cancelled the work. We did not return your non-refundable deposit as we were not able to return the special-order materials. We apologize that we were not able to complete this job for you.

  Dan and Josh did a wonderful job installing two new windows at our home. They were courteous and professional and, most of all, did a fantastic job on the windows. We will call McCarter again for sure!

  Just had a really pleasant experience with the team McCater sent to my house. They did a replacement of my bay window siding, and fixed multiple water leak issues. Im very happy with their work and will use them again in the future. For those thinking about DIY a bay window refresh, forget it, call the pros. Joe, Ivan, and Jim all get kudos.

  I recently had my home painted by Marvin and his crew with McCarter Construction. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the helpful attitude of the crew. My house looks great!   John McCarter Construction has took on many large projects for our home. The entire team is helpful, knowledgeable, show up on time and professional. The office staff communicates everything in a timely manner. They are hard working and effective. And a special shot out to Marc, Iven and Quentin for being some of the hardest working individuals ever. They are great! I highly recommend hiring their team!
