  I would deal with a leaking roof before id hire this company J Smeagol is nothing but rude has no value no respect and threatens people to buy there homes and Evict people and the employees block driveways well u try to leave your own home u get ignored

  I’m assuming since you are not a client of ours you are referring to our neighbor Jeremy on mill street. As we have tried to remedy the situation we are sorry that this matter bothers you so much. In order for Jeremy to not be awakened at 7am on a work day morning because he is a “stay at home dad” we have recently bought a new building and moving. Hopefully this will settle any conflicts. Thank you for your concern and we hope you don’t have a roof leak and let it go because that can really cause some bad health issues as well as structural:)

  I rarely post reviews but here I am… with a long one. I really wanted to like J Smegal/Klaus roofing. Our sales person Jake was great answering my many questions thoroughly. When we put down the deposit I felt like we had done the research and made a good choice (we looked at over 5 places). We were eager to get our roof done as it had a minor leak (that we patched). They told us they were roofing out 4-6 weeks, which was another reason we chose them. We put the deposit down in late May. However, after the deposit we didn’t hear from them. I had to check in to get any kind of update. It rained hard all summer, I get it, not ideal roofing weather, but in this time our roof sprung more leaks. We were patching and practicing patience, but only through reaching out myself would I be able to get an update on where we were in their calendar. (I wished the office staff was more proactive with clearer updates…our money and roof were on the line!) Finally in October, after many date push backs, they were roofing. We were excited when they were done but not super thrilled with the work. J Smegal came, walked the roof and guaranteed the work himself after our skepticism. Two weeks later our roof leaked through two floors. We could hardly believe it. In December they came out and replaced the entire section that leaked. Now it is May, we had a minor storm Sunday evening and a completely different section is leaking through the ceiling. This is not quality work. Roofs are supposed to last 15+ years. I am having trouble reaching anyone at the company which is part of the reason I am writing this review.

  They seem to cater to too narrow a clientele. However, they returned my call promptly and the staff on the phone was friendly and tried to find answers to my questions while still being friendly and professional

  Had to hire j smegal for an emergency roof repair after a tree fell on our house. They charged $1200 for the emergency call. We notice immediately after that one of the holes was leaking and called to fix it. They said they would come and do the repair. Because we can’t live in the house due to the damage we didn’t notice until the following week that it was still leaking. When I called to advise that it was still leaking the owner said he forgot to come. He did send someone that night who patched one spot. However as hurricane henri was approaching we notice several other leaks from the roof. We attempted to reach the company on a Sunday but are unable to reach someone. We are now expecting to have to wait through the eye of the storm with holes in our roof. It’s a terrible feeling to watch your already damaged home sustain more damage because they didn’t do their job properly.

  With record rain anticipated for July 29th, they called at 7AM on 28th to suggest coming a day early to replace the decaying ridge caps insuring there would be no leaks!!! Such concerns for a small job is rare but greatly appreciated. They earned my everlasting trust.

  I use them as a roofing subcontractor in my remodeling business. They do great work, pay attention to the details, are courteous and contientous on site, communicate well and are punctual. What More can you ask? Well they have excellent foremen and knowledgeable salespeople, too

  My experience with JSMEGAL Roofing was very pleasant. Tom came out to look things over and provide an estimate for the roof replacement. He was very informative and helpful. Answered all the questions we had. Explained the process and told us about the materials and the warranty. I was pleased with the roofing crew. They were focused on the job and hard working. The project manager Ian was great! He kept me informed throughout the entire process, answered questions and walked my husband and I around at the end of the project to show us the completed work. I highly recommend this company for all your roofing needs.
