  I had Grennan Construction Co. replace chimney trim boards on my house. I signed a contract for this repair job for $9869. Once the construction was in progress I was told support boards behind the trim boards also needed to be replaced and that this was extra and that this was stated in the contract. I said that when the project was discussed with the sales rep. that the rot beneath the trim boards was included in the quote but I said that if this was in the contract that I signed then to go ahead and proceed. Later, when I had access to the contract, there was nothing in the contract that stated anything about any possible extra costs. When I told Mr. Grennnan about this he said that the support boards were part of a change order. I said I never signed or even received a change order. After several communications as a compromise I offered to pay for the materials only not the labor for the support boards. He refused this offer and said that if I did not pay the extra $760 that he would put a lean on my house. I consulted my attorney and found out that I would need to hire an attorney to have the lean removed. I have owned four houses in the last 40 years with many repairs done and this is the first time I have ever written a poor review on any construction company that I hired. (I am glad to see that you have edited your response to change the fact that your company was paid the $760. That payment was made about three weeks prior to your response. Can I make a suggestion that you check on things prior to making statements about them. Also, just to get you on course again, in your response you stated that I came into your office and we had a cordial, professional conversation. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I said over the telephone that I was willing to meet in person with you but you never set up that meeting. These are the kind of things that created my poor review of your company in the first place.   We hired Grennan to replace our roof in 2020. Shortly after it was replaced, our kitchen ceiling started leaking. Grennan came out pretty quickly to fix the leak that time. However, in May of this year we noticed a soft spot on our roof. After many weeks of calling and leaving messages, someone finally came out and said that there was a rotting board that needed to be replaced and that they would replace it. It is now October and they still have not replaced the board. We left messages with both the office and Fred's cell phone multiple times and they never returned our messages until two weeks ago, when they finally said they would be out to fix our roof in the next week. Well, the next week came and went and they never showed up or called to say that they weren't going to be able to make it. Once again, we left messages to see what is going on, and have not heard back from anybody.

  Was given Dan’s name as a word of mouth referral from another contractor. Called him to see if he could give me a quote, he said he would be out in a few days. I blocked off work to meet him on a Friday morning. He never showed. He said he would come by and take a look at a later time and get back to me. It’s been over a week and no follow up. So glad we never got into doing any actual work together based on the initial impression. Save yourself the time and trouble and don’t call this company.

  I will happily update if gutters get fixed. Installed soffits incorrectly, would have caused mold in attic and voided my roof warranty had we not discovered in time and got Grennan to correct. A year later, found gutters leaking water into my porch light, overflowing the gutters digging trenches in ground, and water getting behind gutter since they installed gutters on top of drip shield. After months of asking, they finally sent a guy to fix only 1 side of gutters in Nov 2023. Said they'd come back and finish the repairs spring 2024. Since Nov 22, sent many dozens of calls, texts, and some emails requesting repairs, Fred first said fault was gutter guards we installed, so we removed them. Then said gutters were dirty, we had them professionally cleaned. Then need more pictures, we sent them. Then told gutter crew needs to realign the gutters, crew never shows, then talk to project guy, who then says reply Fred email. Fred now is saying need to clean gutters 3x a year and get gutter guards. Just not fixing what I've been told is wrong with their work. Can anyone recommend a good company who can repair my gutters before they rot out my wood behind the trim? Crazy thing, should not be a huge job for them to finish the repairs they started, but after fighting them for going on 2 years to get this done, it might be easier to hire another company to fix and sue them for the charges plus court costs. Sad because i hired them because Mike gave a great quote and promised a 10 year warranty on their work. From my experience they perform shoddy work and then try to wear you down rather than fix their mistakes.

  If I could give zero stars I would. I had a roof leak so I called Grennan in to fix the leak. I gave them thousands of dollars to diagnose and fix the problem. They were incorrect in their diagnosis and sold me components I never needed. Their misdiagnosis costed me additional money and they wouldn’t honor their mistakes. Avoid this company at all costs.

  Grennan construction takes on a job then subs it out to gunnel construction. Gunnel construction covers up it's trailer with grennans​ signs. Then they have inexperienced employees work for them ,they don't even pay there employees, I would not do business with either of these guys.scammers

  Where do I begin? Let’s start with Dean. He was an excellent salesperson. He communicated very well and gave me some pointers. He was great. My project manager, Dan, kept me informed and communicated effectively. He was a great project manager. Brandon arrived quickly and completed the project well. The dumpster company delivered and picked up the dumpster efficiently after the project. The person who helped drop off the materials did a good job. The siding crew was fantastic; they cleaned up as they went. The dumpster company delivered and picked up the dumpster efficiently after the project. The person who helped drop off the materials was very effective. Overall, it was a great experience.   This company sucks. Supposed to do work which was confirmed by Dan and Erick. But they never showed up. Kept us hanging since Dan wouldn't return our calls. We don't know what happened. He was so nice at first. We were delayed a week by his promise that it would be taken care of. And Erick who was suppose to bring the "boys" finally called me back hours later and said he was out of town. But he confirmed in a text 2 days earlier that he would be here. We just don't understand why people would do that instead of being honest. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. And I still have no explanation happened.

  Great experience working with Grennan Construction. Like most older homes, when you want to update something, it can be like peeling an onion. Grennan Const. gave our home the exterior update we wanted, while also fixing the problems we knew we would discover under the surface. Their siding crew was friendly, efficient, and professional. And, Brandon, I believe Grennan's main framer/carpenter and overall problem solver, rebuilt several areas for us. He was easy to work with and I'm very confident in the work he and the crew did on our home. And finally, communication with Dan who managed the job and Fred who I initiated the job with was excellent. Everything went smoothly. The estimate grew as problems were found, but it was expected, and we wanted them addressed. I recommend Grennan Construction.

  Work completed: tuck pointing, structural repair, garage door replacement, siding replacement with replacement of rotted wood, gutter replacement with gutter guards added. I believe the best home project/contractor experience I have ever had. From the first meeting with the sales representative to removing the dumpster every step was consistently communicated to me by Dan, the project manager. Over a 3-week time frame, every workman arrived when expected. The primary work to replace the siding and needed structural repairs was completed by Chris and Andre who were on-site before 8 am every morning. Both were personable, thorough and talked me through all of their work, including when bad news from ‘handyman specials’ were encountered. For the consistency of the firm’s communication, let alone the quality of the work, I would happily hire Grennan Construction again and am very comfortable recommending the company to others.

  Just completed completely new siding, roof and paint job from Grennan and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the results! From the initial consultation, working through various cost and material selection process was excellent and everything that was put into the contract was finalized without the annoying extra costs that often come with this type of work. The team was honest, up front and straight forward on everything. Then the installation...crew was top notch, reviewed every detail with us along the way and always cleaned up every day.
