They are big time scammers, I was told I wouldn't have to pay a penny except for my deductible. They lied to me for months and then put a lien on my house I ended up having to pay the balance so I could get the lien off.

They had me sign a contract for around 17k for a new roof. Put a tarp over n my roof which they said was free of charge over the phone. Only to be billed 6k for a tarp. Get a notice of lien on my house before I get the final bill call in …

Worst roofing company ever. DO NOT USE! Will tell you one price and then change the price once the roof is done. Overcharged. Zero communication. Reps that tell you lies and false promises. Doesn't even deserve the 1 star!

The Florida Roof Specialists must have learned their lesson. Our new roof is beautiful and they were very helpful. We ran into a few difficulties (e.g., they lost a check that had to be reissued by the insurance company) and their business office was unnecessarily aggressive, but they were helpful and easy to work with. At the end, I was asked to pay beyond the deductible, but when I reminded them that I was promised that I wouldn't pay anything other than the deductible, they modified the invoice and the bill was then paid in full. The sales group was great and the business side worked with me, but I recommend frequently communicating with them and getting things in writing. I recommend them - the roof and final experience was worth it. I do wish that they would put the gutters back up though.

Scam of a company! All they will tell you is “insurance will cover. I’m only putting a lien on your house until insurance pays.” Little will you know insurance did pay- $25k. Now you’re left with a second bill of another $25k. This company …

Ms. *****, Thank you for reaching out. I’d like to address your concerns in the order in which they were received. First, the tarp was placed on your roof on December 2, 2024, not on Thanksgiving Day as stated. Second, the settlement you received through your attorney included compensation for both the roof and tarp, as well as $1,000.00 towards your wood bill. Please note that we are a roofing company and do not perform soffit work. Additionally, if you review the back of the Selection Sheet you signed, you will see it clearly states: ***"Roofing Contractor not responsible for painting any wood or siding that was replaced during the roof installation." ***"Roofing Contractor not responsible for any pre-existing aluminum fascia covering and/or soffit damage." We hope this clarifies the matter.

Roof install was great, cleanup was great. Working with Charity was great! The sales pitch is very deceiving, you sign a contract but do not get a copy of the contract until after the 3 day cancellation date along with an outrageous estimate that is double what your insurance adjuster has quoted. It takes some back and forth between the insurance company and FRS along with understanding what the insurance company will not cover, ie any rotten wood that needs replacing, you will be responsible for your deductible also. I do agree FRS adds charges they know the insurance company will not pay under any circumstances. All in all I am happy with the end product although FRS really does need to improve their borderline shady sales tactics.

UPDATE: I ended up paying the roofing company $1000 more than the original quote. I wrote paid in full on the check and I didn’t pay for the other extra charges that they tacked on without my knowledge. They told me from day one that they had programs that helped pay for the deductible and that I would not have to pay a dime!! They are swindling people especially the elderly with their scam. They finally took the illegal lien off!! I am right now deciding whether I will give this company a better rating. The salesperson that came to my house said that this company would make it an easy process was very nice throughout the whole thing. The people that installed the roof were fast and efficient and basically cleaned up the yard when finished. It’s the extra money that they slapped on the bill that I’m having an issue with right now and they put a lien on my house after they sent the paperwork in on April 22. I had a lien on my house in a month!! I except to get that lien removed immediately and the extra charges that they added without my consent or knowledge. I’m hoping that they will make good on the our original agreement by the end of this week! I've been sick so I didn't get to update but I got a nasty answer back from an employee that they were honest with the deal. I will take a polygraph test to prove I was told that I wouldn't have to come up with a dime for my roof! That salesperson that came to my door told me that there were programs that paid for the deductible for people in my circumstances and I don't care what this company says!! Too bad that they love to screw people

Ms. Wrann, You had a settlement with an attorney and your portion (DEDUCTIBLE) was $1,000.00 and that is ALL you paid. We even credited you for the wood that was used on your home. You agreed to the settlement with you the attorney you hired.

this company is awful , dont provide info requested by client , crew unable to communicate with client , used only a drone to give estimate on roof . only deals with insurance claims doesnt diclose from first phone call. uses pictures as proof that shows nothing. very under handed . the only positive thing i have to say is that christina is an amazing person in the homosassa branch , she tries to help but her hands are tied as to what she can do and provide the customer. The billing is very unprofessional and threaten with liens on homes even when accounts are noted with disputing a charge and waiting to pay final bill until questions are answered! please read contracts in full ! this company i do not recommend to anyone ! shady very shady

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT do business with FRS. They messed with the wrong people...I can explain everything in detail and have documented proof, but in a nutshell, they purposely neglect to provide necessary documentation to allow funds "already allocated" to be released to them, just so they can place a lien on your property. Very few people have the funds to clear this up out of pocket resulting in a foreclosure. If the victim does have the funds to pay them directly, the lien will not be cleared until their attorney fees are also paid. This SCAM is called a "Property or Land Acquisition Scheme". I fortunately had the funds to land ourselves clear of this company and am considering legal action against FRS.

Scummy roofing company decided to up charge an extra 20 k from 15 k already and if we didn’t pay they’d put a lien on the house. Shady company

My experience with Florida Roof Specialists is mixed. The salesperson that stopped by my house was very nice and felt trustworthy. Putting the claim into my insurance company was easy and the response of my insurance company was great. Signing the contract (without an estimate - mistake) was completed with the assurance that I would only be liable for my $1,000 deductible. Once the roof was scheduled and the men showed up, I was extremely pleased with the work they did and professionalism. My new roof looks awesome. My disappointment and reason I rated was the final bill was way more the what the insurance company agreed to pay. I called and talked with the insurance company and have to say they were very nice and accepting and agreed to pay more on the final bill, which still did not cover the total cost. I will add that at no time did Florida Roof Specialist mentioned or agree to look over their costs and possibly adjust. I kept reminding Florida Roofing that they had assured me that my total cost was going to be the initial $1,000. I setup up a mediation with the insurance company and they agreed to cover more of the bill (again so pleased with my insurance company), but they said there were things on the bill that they just did not cover (two insurance agents I spoke with said the same thing) and said the roofing company should know this. After everything I had to pay an additional $1,000, which may not seem a lot, but I felt that I had been deceived by the Roofing Company on my part of the cost and think they should have absorbed the extra $1,000. I had asked them many times and had text messages assuring me that my total cost would only be $1,000 my deductible. If you are dealing with the company, please get a quote and also talk with your insurance company about what they will pay. I opted to pay the extra versus having a lien put on my house.
