During roofing work at my community, their workers broke a water pipe because it wasn’t properly protected. I came home to no running water and had no idea what happened because no one communicated anything to me. I later found out the …

Ian, thank you for taking the time to share this. I'm sorry for the stress and disruption you and your son went through — being without water in your home is genuinely difficult, and I understand the frustration. While our work on this project was coordinated through your HOA and property management, that doesn't change how the situation affected you directly. For the record, our owner did reach out personally and apologize for the communication gap, and water service was restored within the standard timeframe for our area — though I recognize that any time without water feels far too long. We also looked into the on-site concerns you raised and addressed them with the people involved. I'd welcome the chance to talk this through with you directly. Please reach out to us and we'll make sure your concerns are fully heard. Edit: Mr. Cohen — thank you for the update, and I want to respond differently than we did the first time. You and your son were left without water in your home, and our communication afterward did not meet the standard we hold ourselves to. That's on us, and I'm sorry — not as a formality, but because your family deserved better from us, both in the moment and in how we followed up. I'd like the chance to make that right with you directly. Please reach out to me at jim@floridacoastcontracting.com and I'll personally see it through. — Jim Baker, Florida Coast Contracting & Roofing

They replaced my roof but ripped off my brand new gutters without letting me know and refused to replace them, very disappointed

  Reply from the business

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. However, as we mentioned to you yesterday when we spoke on the phone, we cannot and do not guarantee that we will be able to perform a re-roof without removing the gutters and we cannot and do not guarantee that if they are removed that they will be salvageable. As I mentioned on the phone, we can certainly send a gutter company out to your home to get you an estimate for the replacement of the gutters, that needed to be removed. However, as stated before, that price is never included in the contract price, as the situation can vary from homeowner to homeowner. We hope that you are satisfied with the actual re-roof of your home and are sorry if you feel as if there was some miscommunication regarding the gutters.

Thank you so much, Jess! Coming from a fellow business owner, this means a lot. Our crew works hard to keep every project organized and communicate clearly from start to finish, and it's great to hear that came through on your HOA project. We take pride in doing quality work and keeping the site clean throughout, and we're glad that showed. Thanks again for the recommendation and for taking the time to leave a positive review!
