While the work itself was commendable, the additional charge of $5000 for extras significantly increased the final cost by 25% compared to the initial quote. It's disheartening to discover similar complaints in the reviews, suggesting that this issue is not isolated. One might argue that the extra charges are justified, but it's unreasonable to claim ignorance about potential issues that only became apparent upon commencement. They are supposed to be the experts and should have foreseen such possibilities. The information about potential extra costs should have been communicated before the work commenced, not in the midst of the project when it's too late to negotiate. Unfortunately, with trucks and equipment already on the roof, we had no choice but to pay whatever they demanded to ensure the completion of the job. Having undertaken numerous projects in our building, including foundations, brickwork, plumbing, electricity and much more, this contractor stands out as the only one charging more than 25% above the initial quote. For those considering this company, be wary of potential surprises in the form of unexpected costs. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Dear Juliana, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're pleased to hear that you were satisfied with the quality of the work. We understand your concerns about the additional costs, and we want to clarify that before proceeding with the extra work, we obtained your approval for the additional charges. We always aim to be transparent about potential changes and costs, and in this case, the unforeseen issues required additional work, which we communicated to you for approval prior to moving forward. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, and we will continue to work on ensuring clear communication at every step of the process. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Sincerely, Couvreurs DM

This company doesn't honor its commitments. Terrible customer service; I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone.

The work was well done, as any good roofer would do. However, BEWARE of the estimate; they charged me an extra $4888 to redo the parapets. AVOID this roofer if you don't want unpleasant surprises and huge additional costs. UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BUILDING (THE FLAT LAYER) AND PARAPETS (THE EDGE). I bitterly regretted hiring this roofer because of the lower quote; in the end, I lost out. If you decide to hire them anyway, be extremely careful! This is the first time this has happened to me; I have other roofs and it's never happened before. BE CAREFUL! Bad bidder = nasty surprises.

We recently discovered a leak in our roof, and Tristan provided outstanding service from start to finish. Not only did he quickly identify and fix the problem, but he also took the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of our questions. His professionalism and expertise immediately put us at ease and reassured us that the issue was being handled properly. We were extremely impressed with the experience and will definitely be using their company when it comes time to replace our roof. Highly recommended!

Quick, efficient. Didn't appreciate the price gouging for the gas. It should of already been calculated but great job

The Couvreurs-DM team is exceptionally professional. Although they redid our roof in 2024 (before we bought the house in 2025), they were incredibly responsive when we contacted them about an apparent leak near the skylight. They came out …

I was impressed with their workmanship. As soon as they arrived each person knew what they were doing and went at it like a team. It shows that they have been working together for a while. They were dedicated and detaled. I also found the owners Danny and Eric honest. Its refreshing to see this in construction industry.

Good work, clear explanations regarding the additional work needed to correct defects discovered after dismantling, with the additional work charged at half price. Great team, available, and they cleaned everything up at the end.

It is extremely hard to find serious and honest people in the construction industry and dealing with this company is proof that they still exist. Danny had initially given me a quote to redo my roof, which included replacing the 2X4s and the plywood. After stripping the roof from its membrane, his project manager named Eric, showed me that the roof was not as bad as they initially thought. Danny adjusted the price accordingly. Having dealt with several dishonest contractors, I highly doubt that another company would have mentioned that the work initially budgeted for was really not needed. People in construction are greedy, but I am very happy that I found Couvreurs DM for my roofing needs. His team was on time, professional, friendly and took the time to explain everything to me. I highly recommend this company for any of your roofing needs. Danny, Eric and team...THANK YOU!!!!
