I request inspection, everything was great and nice until 2 weeks in. Person showed up without proper equipment and said will come back, which took a week, and then said still needed rescheduled for another week later. So when I called company and asked for help to finally do inspection I fined out that only thing they do is to walk around and that’s it. If I want to get inspected the roof ( like I was asking at the beginning, now they will have to charge me ridiculous amount of money ( sorry I paid for repair 2 year ago same as they charge just to go on roof and take a look). So please if you have roof that you can’t see buy yourself from a ground be ready to paid a good amount of money with them just to look or keep looking for another company.

    Reply from the business

Yuliya, I'm sorry the inspection turned into weeks of back and forth. That is not how we want to treat anyone, and the confusion over the visit and the cost is on us to fix. Please call our office at (847) 221-5600 and ask for a manager so we can look into what happened and make it right.

This company installed the roof on my home in October 2019. I purchased the home in 2020, and now in 2026 I am dealing with a roof leak. After having it professionally inspected, I was informed the issue is consistent with an installation error, including improperly secured plywood decking. I contacted the company, explained the situation, and gave them the opportunity to stand behind their work. I expected that a company with a strong presence in the community would take responsibility and value its reputation. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Their response was simply that the roof is out of warranty (they only offer a 5-year workmanship warranty). Instead of addressing what appears to be a clear installation issue, I was given an estimate to pay out of pocket to fix their mistake. When I explained that an independent inspection identified poor installation as the cause, I was told, “Of course they’re going to say that because they want the job—that doesn’t mean anything.” I was also asked how I knew someone hadn’t stepped on the roof and caused the problem. That response was very concerning. If simply stepping on the roof could cause the plywood decking to shift, that points to a serious installation issue. A properly installed roof should not fail under normal conditions. I was also told that if a home inspection didn’t catch the issue when I purchased the house, then it shouldn’t be considered their responsibility. That logic does not make sense. A standard home inspection is limited and does not remove responsibility for the quality of the original installation—especially when defects may not be visible at the time. A properly installed roof should last 20+ years—not fail in just 6 years due to poor workmanship. Based on my experience, I would not recommend doing business with this company. In my opinion, they prioritize volume over quality and do not stand behind their work once the warranty period ends. Homeowners should proceed with caution.

Choosing Countryside is a very expensive mistake. In 2020, we hired Countryside to replace our roof at a cost of over $66,000. The workers and our point person were respectful, responsive, and hard-working. We noticed curling shingles almost immediately after the work was completed and notified Countryside. They agreed that something was wrong with the cedar shake, received some replacement shingles from the supplier and corrected some of the work. Unfortunately, as the roofers were doing their job, they said that there were many more defective shingles than they had materials to repair. The sales person for Countryside, who - to their credit - has stayed in regular contact with us, did repair the peak of the roof so we would not get water in over the winter. He has also attempted to work with the supplier, sporadically. I, as the consumer who admittedly knows very little about the construction world, have been put in the position of communicating with roofing suppliers, distributors, and insurance providers for those companies. None of these participants are motivated to move on the issue because Countryside is not doing anything to hold them responsible. I have made countless calls to these companies who were indirectly involved in our roofing project in an effort to fix the issue. However, without the leaned-in support from Countryside to solve this there is no reason for these other companies to work with us to solve the issue. Of all the players involved in our project, Countryside is the only one that does not appear to have contacted their insurance provider and reached out to resolve the issue, even though they have admitted that the roof does not look as it should. For all we know, Countryside is still using the same companies that supplied us with faulty products! At this point, it has been five years of battling without any support of Countryside upper management. My interactions with Countryside’s owner during this period has been uninspiring. When

Requested they come out yo look at some damage to my roof. First appointment canceled due to rain. Second one did rain but not all day. Still could have come out. Finally showed up. Started out good. Mike took pics showed us damage will get us a quote by Monday. He came out on a Friday. We have called several times asking for the quote. It has been over 3 weeks still no quote received though promises will send it. Finally went with someone else. If did not want the job should have just said so.

Mike came to my home to inspect the roof. He committed to follow up within a couple days. I attempted to call and text him the next week, but did not hear back. I called the office and explained the situation, and they committed to have Mike call me back that day. Still no response. If they don’t want the job that’s fine, but the lack of professionalism I experienced does not match the what their reviews suggest.

This is our 2nd roof installation by countryside in the last 2 months. First was my mom’s house which they did an excellent job. The village inspector commented on how well the roofing materials were installed, also they did an excellent job cleaning up. Mike took the time to explain the process and made us feel comfortable with the process. We had our roof installed a few days ago and again the crew did an excellent job with the installation and Mike answered all of our questions. They did an excellent job with cleaning up. I would highly recommend this company.

    Reply from the business

Thank you! Two roofs in two months says a lot, and it is great to hear the village inspector called out how well the materials went on and that the crews left both properties clean. Mike is good about walking through the process so nothing feels like a surprise, and we appreciate you trusting Countryside with your mom's house and your own.

From the proposal stage through the completion of the job, Countryside was responsive, professional, and took the time to answer all of our questions with multiple visits. When unexpected rain hit during the project, they acted quickly to tarp the roof and protect our home, showing their diligence and commitment to quality workmanship.

    Reply from the business

Thank you, Maddie! Tarping the roof the moment that rain moved in is exactly what the crew should be doing, so it is good to hear they stayed on top of it. We appreciate you working through all the questions with us and trusting Countryside with the project.

GOOGLE REVIEW FOR COUNTRYSIDE ROOFING, STREAMWOOD, ILLINOIS Fantastic Company ….. Highly Recommended ….. In 2024 a severe hailstorm damaged the siding on the back of my house. I was very worried about who would come for a small siding job like this one. I needed new siding only on the back, and matching the color would be a nightmare. Mr. Ken McKendree (Owner, CEO) of Countryside came through ! Ken worked with us, found a very close color match, and his team did a fantastic and professional job of the installation. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Countryside. Ken is easy to work with, and he really cares for the customer’s needs and satisfaction. One satisfied customer, Leo Mathur, Vernon Hills, IL

Vinyl siding hangs on the wall rather than getting nailed tight to it, and every panel locks into the one below it along a hidden lip at the bottom edge. After the fast storms we have been getting around Streamwood this month, that lock is worth a walk. Run your hand along the bottom course on the west and south walls in Oak Ridge or Sterling Ridge and give the lower edge a light tug. A panel that is seated feels solid and barely moves. One that rattles, sits proud of the panel below it, or shows a thin dark line where it should be tight has come unhooked, usually from wind lifting it. Small fix on its own. Left through a season of wind driven rain, it lets water and insects behind the wall where nobody sees them.16 hours agoLearn more
