A close family member of mine had Cardinal Roofing come out to give him a bid in the St. Charles Mo. area. After the bid was done my family member asked what the estimate came up to and the guy said that he wasn't allowed to tell what the price it came up to be, that his company would not allow him to. The guy also mentioned how the roof likely would not be covered by insurance because it was an old roof and was just bad due to normal wear and tear. So then my family member said, then if i'm going to be paying for it out of pocket, how will I know how much it is? And the guy said, well, that's something we would deal with down the road. I can tell you this isn't the first time I've heard something bad about cardinal roofing. If I were you, I would avoid them at all cost, literally at "all cost"

I’ve lost count of how many times someone driving a truck with this company logo on it has almost hit me. It would probably be smart not to drive like maniacs while having your logo plastered all over the truck.

I agreed to work with this company believing it would be a positive experience and that I would even be an advertisement for them. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. I later learned this company has done the same thing to multiple people and now tries to blame the situation on “miscommunication” by an employee. They caused damage to my home and took my entire insurance check, which was supposed to cover multiple repairs. I trusted their employee who assured me they would help handle everything. When issues came up, they did not allow time to resolve discrepancies and instead served me paperwork from their attorney, threatening legal action. They promised to help get additional items covered but walked away and left me to handle everything on my own. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.

DO NOT HIRE!!! TLDR: They caused extensive interior damage to my home due to negligence, are refusing to provide a Certificate of Insurance so we can file a claim, and refused to repair the damage they caused to our home. On July 8, a project manager with Cardinal Contractors called & told us we were going to be put on the schedule that day. Rain was forecasted, but I was assured that only half of the roof would be torn off & everything would be properly covered. That did not occur and the entire roof was torn off & not properly covered before extensive rain causing interior damage to every room inside our house on the upper & main floors. We notified Cardinal Contractors immediately. They brought in contractors inside our home to put in dehumidifiers which were not properly secured outside & caused even more leaking & water damage into our home. The office manager contacted me on July 12 & accepts full responsibility in writing for the damage that they caused & promises to repair all damages to our satisfaction. Cardinal Contractors is very responsive at first, bringing in ServePro to evaluate the water damage. The industrial fans (24 of them) inside our home are so loud, my family cannot be inside. Repairs don't start until August 7 (one month after all the damage). We were promised all damaged walls would be painted corner to corner the color of our choosing, but during the repairs only touch ups of old paint were made to our walls. During the repairs, the contractors that Cardinal Contractors hired damaged our wood floors & another flooring contractor Cardinal Contracts requested came into our home & identified water damage & noted that the entire floors needed to be refinished to repair the damage caused by the Cardinal Contractors team. All parties were notified of the flooring expert's recommendations & I was told another estimate would be obtained. I asked repeatedly for updates & did not receive any until September 12 at which time Cardinal Contractors put

Cardinal contractors dropped the ball on our project with terrible communication. Later is was blamed on the salesman who overpromised and messed up on the contract and installed the wrong roof 6 months after the hailstorm. Our insurance wont cover the roof since the right level was not installed and cardinal wants us to pay out of pocket for a lesser roof quality than what was supposed to be installed. Despite having proof that the salesman told us that this was the correct roof the owner and other representatives that we talked to understand they messed up but refuse to fix the issue, i has now been a year and a half and they still have not released the cash to fix the siding on our house and have not been able to repair the damage done by hail. I have tried on multiple occasions to fix these issues with cardinal with no response. Not as professional as they may seem. I don't write bad reviews but this is just not right.

Do not trust this company. From the very beginning they displayed questionable practices. I signed my initial agreements and 3 weeks later they come back with a new document and a 3K cost to me , after a few weeks we got it worked out, so I was hopeful it was just one of those things. Job get completed and I get billed a significant amount more that what was discussed and should have been covered by the ins company. When I look at the invoice to me and to ins company its significantly different. The ins company is questioning it but what does Cardinal have to say? Nothing, because they won't respond to e-mails or phone calls. They obviously don't care about their customer once they got their money. Beware.

A few weeks after a hailstorm, I noticed several neighbors getting their damaged roofs replaced. I got in touch with Cardinal through a neighbor whose roof was also replaced. A representative from Cardinal inspected my roof using a drone and said there was significant damage. He helped me file an insurance claim and promised to be present during the inspection with city personnel. I provided all the necessary information, but no one from Cardinal showed up for the inspection. The insurance company found no visible damage and closed the claim.

Called Cardinal to get a roof quote after high winds blew off some shingles. They advised us to make an insurance claim because they believe State Farm would approve a roof replacement. We were hesitant, knowing we have a high deductible and the extent of damage seemed unlikely to exceed it. They said "there's no harm if you don't take the payout from the insurance company". As it turns out, this was completely WRONG. By putting through the claim, it cost us our "no claim" discount, which equals about $600 per year. So in addition to the claim being denied for the roof repair/replacement, we're out of pock $600 a year for the next several years. Beware of the sales pitch!

Jacob P. just looked at my roof, I fully expecting him to tell me I needed a new roof and then in the back of my mind wondering if I did. Jacob climbed down and told me little hail damage but no new roof at this time. Shocked! I know who I'm calling when the time comes.

Contacted Cardinal Contractors', Marty Dean, after hail damaged my roof. Marty came to the house, inspected all 3 of my roofs, & found damage. His inspection, follow through with the insurance adjuster, & follow up after tear off & install was impressive. I'm pleasantly satisfied with Cardinal Contractors & Marty.

Truly the most effortless experience I've ever had. From the commutation of the office, Marissa was more then kind as well as helpful with everything. Materials dropped off quickly, fully accurate order nothing missing. Dillon was extremely accurate and explained in detailed what was what, what to expect etc. Luke was friendly and helpful with and unexpected change order. Nothing made the timeline go off course. Dillon was the most helpful, top notch service. For anyone worried about ever getting your roof done. This is a one stop shop. Service, professionalism, and customer service. ****UPDATE***** Alton just had a terrible storm roll through, unfortunately throwing a limb straight into my nice new roof.... Dillon TO THE ABSOLUTE RESCUE. Took time out of his Saturday, came out himself with one other employee to help me tarp off a broken shingle and underlayment while I was working. I'll say again, top notch.

I am truly pleased to have Robert F. with Cardinal Contractors present during the entire process of obtaining a new roof after storm damage. He always arrived early, was available any time for questions, and provided responses with clarity that eased my mind. When problems arose with the first adjuster leaving without notice, Robert helped with phone calls and next steps to get the process moving again. When the time arrived to install the roof, he made sure supplies arrived as ordered and timely. I am grateful I made the choice to go with Cardinal Contractors—and even better having Robert’s meticulous documentation to advocate on my behalf, which made all the difference!

Robert stopped by and did an evaluation on my roof in the Granite City area and we ended up having to do a complete roof replacement for hail damage. Communication with him was excellent and always prompt. Answered every question I had with full clarity. The work was done in one day and when I got home, I could not even tell that anyone had even been to the house other than a new roof. I cannot stress enough, how pleased I was with the entire operation from beginning to end!! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have work done on their home!!
