If I could give 0 stars, I would. My interaction with Boyce's Roofing raises serious doubts about the ethics, transparency, and regulatory compliance of their operations. This review is informed by my professional experience addressing and rectifying construction defects and as a Part 107 certified commercial drone (UAS) pilot. We called Boyce to investigate the source of a leak and recommend a fix after seeing water intrusion in our master bedroom. The inspection was scheduled for a day my wife was home but I was working. Carlos, one of their Project Managers, came out, looked at the ceiling in the master bedroom, and performed a single drone flight. He was here for about 20 minutes. Based off of this short and cursory inspection, Carlos claimed that my underlayment had failed across my whole roof based off only a drone flight. He recommended a $20,000 whole-roof replacement. As evidence, he provided 4 photos as part of his inspection report. Minus verbiage for marketing and a cost quote, the inspection report came to 238 characters. For reference, the character limit for a tweet is 280 characters. After reviewing my own images of both the roof and attic, other contractors and industry professionals independently recommended a $200 fix to re-apply failed sealant around a single vent. I responded back to Carlos with a list of due diligence questions around their process and data that the property owner wanted answered before we proceeded. Absent a response, I followed up four days later. I posted this review after an additional four days without a response. Given that they refused to answer basic due diligence questions about their inspection process and recommended a fix at 10,000% of the actual cost to repair the issue, I do not see how anyone could justify choosing them for their roofing needs. --- Update: after posting my initial review, Jason Boyce, the VP of Sales and Operations, reached out to try and get me to change or remove it. In return,

Hi Doug, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take reviews like this seriously and want to clarify a few important points for accuracy. During our inspection, which was conducted on-site with your wife as you were not present, our project manager identified multiple active leaks and observed that the underlayment across the roof was dried out and deteriorated, which is a common cause of recurring water intrusion. Based on those findings, a full roof replacement was recommended as a long-term solution, not as a requirement. Our recommendations are made to address the root cause of the problem and prevent continued or future damage — especially when more than one leak is present. We understand that some contractors may propose more localized or short-term repairs, and homeowners are absolutely encouraged to explore all options and choose what they feel is best for their situation. Our role is to provide a professional assessment and outline solutions based on what we observe at the time of inspection. Regarding follow-up questions: Carlos intended to respond with additional detail, and we regret that this communication did not occur in a timely manner. That delay was not intentional, and we understand how that could contribute to frustration. We strongly disagree with the characterization of our family company as dishonest. We have built our reputation on transparency, experience, and providing homeowners with clear information so they can make informed decisions — never to pressure or mislead. If you would like to discuss the inspection findings further or review them in more detail, we remain open to that conversation and encourage you to contact either our office directly or our VP Jason Boyce. — Boyce's Roofing and Repair

I hired Boyce’s roofing and to remove all of my roof tiles and replace the paper underneath (lift and lay). I received 2 quotes and Boyce’s was significantly higher than that of the other company. I decided to go with Boyce’s roofing despite the high cost. I like supporting family businesses and they convinced me that their expertise and quality of work was worth the extra money. I told them right away that my one concern was that I was having a new stove installed in my kitchen with an en exhaust and the contractor was going to have to cut a hole in the roof for the vent. I asked Jim if he could climb up on the roof with me so I could show him exactly where the vent would go. Jim responded that he was too old/overweight to climb on the roof but Jason would go up with me. Jason and I stood on a valley between 2 pitched roofs. I showed him exactly where the exhaust from the range hood would be. I asked Jason if he had any concerns at all. He responded with “no problem, just make sure the vent is tall enough that no water can get in since a lot of water will be coming off of the two roofs onto the valley." I agreed to relay that to my installer and asked again if there might be any other issues to be concerned about. Jason said “no.” On the agreed upon date, my installer came shortly after the workers from Boyce’s roofing. The installer cut the hole in the roof where we agreed. Jim showed up at 11 am, went up on the roof and came down immediately to tell me that “you cannot put an exhaust in a valley.” I asked him why his son Jason said it would be fine. Well, he said, “sometimes you just can’t see things until the roof is open, but you definitely cannot ever put a vent in a valley.” He then told me it would be $1,500 to replace the roofing material in the valley. I explained again that not only did Jason tell us to do that, but we discussed initially that there was a previous roof leak in the valley so the lower part of the valley was already in t

I chose Boyce's roofing and repair after getting a couple of other quotes from local roofers based on the fact that prior reviews were very good and their price was competitive. Working with Tate as my main contact, I'm happy to report that I agree with all the prior reviews and am quite pleased with the results. Boyce's did a lift and lay job while repairing several areas of damage. The initial quote specified what additional charges there would be based on damages that could only be found once the tiles had been lifted. It was a fair system and I'm sure fairly standard amongst the better roofing companies. The overall roofing crew was quite experienced and went out of their way to do a completely professional job including details like paint touchups and minor issues to the point that they left my property better than how they found it.. If there are any future issues which I doubt there will be then I know I'll be covered under their 10 year warranty.. Thank you to everyone involved at Boyces!

I had my solar panels cleaned and they informed me that I had a few broken tiles. I called Boyce's Roofing, Carlos came out right away and gave us an estimate. Once I signed the estimate he said the repair would be done within 10 days, and it was. I was really happy with the service. When the gentleman came out to repair the roof, he also checked the rest of the roof to make sure we didn't have any other area's that needed to be addressed. I think my only issue, our repair was small, when I reached out to find out what day they thought it would be repaired to make sure I was home, I didn't get any response. When we need any thing else done with our roof I will use them.
