  Absolutely would not recommend Black Hills Roofing. After contacting them today for a leak in my storefront, they claimed we have a $1,500 unpaid invoice from 2022, yet couldn’t provide an exact amount or any documentation. When I asked where the invoice was sent, the response was simply “to you.” I asked what email address was used—he didn’t know. I requested he forward the emails he claimed were sent—he refused. They have refused to provide a copy of the invoice, any proof of communication, or provide evidence to my request for all claimed correspondences. I’ve searched thoroughly and found no record of any such invoice ever being sent nor any emails other than our signed contracts. To clarify: we paid Black Hills Roofing over $56,000 in the same year—$1,200 for an emergency patch, $5,000 for a temporary repair, and $50,000 for a full roof replacement. All payments were made in full, and I have the documentation to prove it. Yet they are attempting to void our 5-year workmanship warranty over a $1,500 balance they cannot substantiate—and are refusing to produce any evidence of??? While on the phone with them, I was actively digging through my emails because they couldn’t even confirm what email address or phone number they supposedly used to contact me “numerous times.” Instead of handling the situation professionally, their representative was rude, dismissive, and treated me with complete disrespect. When I pressed for clarity, he stated he had “personally voided” our 5 year warranty—without any written explanation or formal notification. Just some handwritten notes he claimed were in my file. Thankfully, our 20-year warranty is through Sarnafil, and I’ve confirmed that it remains valid. It's also worth mentioning that Black Hills Roofing was referred to us by a property manager we ultimately fired for unethical behavior—a connection that, in hindsight, speaks volumes.   Wanted an old satellite dish removed from my roof as it was no longer being used, it was only catching wind at this point. However, didn't want holes in my roof either, and the only way to ensure it never leaked in the future was to replace the shingles with the holes in them once the dish was removed. Black Hills Roofing came from Rapid City to Spearfish to look at the job and match the shingles. A few days later they returned with the shingles and completed the job in the most professional manner possible. A small job that most contractors don't want to touch, but Black Hills roofing did it for me at a very reasonable price. The contractor I left a message with in Spearfish still hasn't called me back.   We needed the shingles replaced on our garage before listing our house to sell - I called Tyler King on a Saturday, he came right away to check it out, and by the end of the day on Wednesday it was done, even with special order shingles to match a few bundles we had on hand from previous projects. Cannot recommend these guys enough, especially Tyler!

  I'm writing this review 3 months after I had Black Hills Roofing shingle three different roofs for me back in March of 2026. I had the pleasure of working with Tyler King and was immediately sold on his professionalism and his punctuality. He picked up the phone when I called and answer any questions honestly. He also made time to come out and check out the three roofs the week I had called him just to verify everything. Within two hours of meeting him he had an estimate with a breakdown of material and labor emailed over to me to check out. I gave him the go ahead and he got his crew down to tear off, replace and finish all three roofs totaling of 8,100 sq/ft all in the same day. We have had plenty of wind, and the occasional down pour out here by the badlands and absolutely no issue with our roofs what so ever. I am very pleased with how they treated us. Black Hills Roofing will be the first number I call to replace another roof.

  They were awesome from beginning to the end. They first looked over the estimate from the insurance company and saw a couple things that they had missed. Then they talked to my insurance company and got them to cover the things they missed. They also came when they said they would and got the roof replaced all in one day. The cleanup was fantastic!! I would highly recommend them to all my friends!!

  Some soffits came down on our Black Hills Oral Surgery office on Stumer Road due to wind and BH roofing was out here quickly and got it back in place and looking good. very nice and easy to work with!
