  First, I can only speak about my experience dealing with Black & White Roofing. Unfortunately it was not as good as it seems others had experienced. I am willing to talk to anyone about my experience and I can send pictures or you're welcome to come see the quality of work for yourself. Due to google space or typed characters restrictions, I can not say as much as I would like so this review is limited. Joe McDevitt did put a lien on my house in lieu of trying to resolve the differences after I had expressed my issues and concerns after receiving final invoice. I have full email exchange that can be shared. This review is being posted after the lien issue had been resolved. Issues with quality of work. Here are a few items: - Siding was damaged and Joe McDevitt did not fix it or offer to fix it. - Leaf guard for the guttering was removed and Joe McDevitt did not replace it or offer to replace it. - A 20' +/- walk way that they re-decked but didn't use pressure tread lumber in parts and slats bounce. - In some areas of the Bitumen (Rolled material for low slope roofs) the workmen created some areas of surface damage / scuff marks. - The trim pieces between siding and roof were attached using the yellow colored Decking screws. The screws were not set flush to the wood and protrude about 3/16" high which makes painting ugly and is just visually ugly. - The caulking applied on the trim looks very unprofessional. - They left a small (about 2' vertical area) of exposed facia left (see picture) - The Bitumen roofing material is not overlayed properly on the downhill slope in a couple of places. - The solution to "Extend the Roof" has it's issues too. Issues with billing invoice amounts. To help support some of my next comments, you may go to the Missouri case net website and look up case number 25CM-ML00022. Now, as a contractor to add a little to the billing that a sub-contractor charges is common practice but, let's see if you think the couple of items I will outline

  Nice try, but you are not a real customer of ours. Please be honest , not mislead my customers. I have reported your review to Google as a fake review. I found the photo you used off the internet. You should probably try harder next time.

  A portion of our large front porch's rolled roofing peeled off during a severe wind storm. We had used Black and White Roofing for a small issue in the past, and immediately reached out to what we thought was a reliable company! We called/emailed Black and White Roofing describing the work that needed to be done, and they were quick to respond! The roofer arrived on time (early actually) and spent a few minutes assessing the damage and taking pictures. He repeatedly asked if we needed any other work done, but with a new roof installed within the last 5 years-ish everything else was in tip top shape. His demeanor changed a bit after we solidified we only needed the porch roof repaired, and deferred providing a quote or work date stating he had to see what his boss said. Within the next day or two we received a call from the company. We expected to set up a date and get the roof repaired ASAP to beat the upcoming snow. However, the boss said he didn't want to do the work. We were shocked! Verbatim, he said "Eh, it's just kind of a pain." I'm sorry, what? It seems more like you thought you could come in and assess a smaller quoted project and scope out to see if we needed to drop 15K on a new roof while you were at it. The company knew the level of damage and size of project prior to coming out. What a waste of time taking off work, and risking extra damage to our property due to terrible customer service and refusal to work. Completely unacceptable. We will never recommend this company again. Edited in Response to Owner: Hey Joe. I want to respond to and clarify some of the issues you mention in your response. To clarify, we purchased the home after the newer roof was installed. The previous owners provided us with limited installer or warranty information, so when your roofer asked who had initially installed the roof we could not provide the prior roofing company's name (again, because we didn't hire them to install the roof on the house we did not yet own, and onc

  Not impressed. Called for a quote on getting our roof repaired at work. The guy called me back and told me what he would recommend and I asked for him to send a quote. A week later I called the office because I hadn't received a quote and the secretary took a message. A few days later the guy calls and says "I heard you have questions" I said, "just one, where's my quote?" He said he would "dig" through his papers and call me back. Never heard from them again.

  This company showed up in Jefferson City right after the hail storm and has been "reviewing" local businesses for the sole purpose of attaching a picture of their truck to the review. It seems awful shady to me.
