  Update per owners response: My main complaint was the contractor stating I needed a new roof without ever stepping foot onto my roof. The photos taken were from one singular location. The reason for me scheduling an inspection was to see where the leaks were coming from. Never once said I wanted a repair only. Only questioned how he could determine it without stepping onto the roof. The owner called me regarding my “scathing review”. I did decline his offer to come back out, as I was dissatisfied with the customer service. Again, I’d advise clarifying what a “free roof inspection “ involves when potential customers request one The lady I spoke with to schedule my inspection was very kind and friendly. I was told no charge to come out and do a roof inspection..I explained my situation and the water damage to the interior of my home. Was told that they would find the problem, and do a water test and roof inspection. However, that was not the case. When he came out, he looked around the inside of my home. Was preoccupied with my porch roof having shingles? Got on a ladder in one section, and GLANCED at the roof (never actually got on it), and told me my entire roof is shot. When I asked him about getting on the roof to look at it, as that is what I was told would happen, he said no you don’t get that for free. I don’t feel I was treated respectfully as a potential customer, and I was misled as to what I was having them come out for. Perhaps things need to be clarified more to potential customers regarding “free roof inspection.”

  Bayfront Roofing and construction takes customer service very seriously. We work hard to ensure our customers are very happy. The Bayfront representative that inspected this roof took several pictures and inspected the property as we always do. His opinion was that we would be unable to offer a repair estimate due to several issues that would need to be corrected. The customer was informed that we would be happy to provide an estimate for full replacement by the representative at the time of the appointment. The customer was upset stating that she was only interested in a repair. She was informed that unfortunately we would not be able to offer that service. This customer did not pay for the inspection because we do offer free inspection. No money exchanged hands. Sometimes repairs are not an option. After reading this review I personally called immediately and offered to go out and inspect the roof myself but that there was no guarantee that my answer would be any different.   He said he would fix my flat roof for $5000 and I wouldn’t have to worry about it for a 10 or 15 years he would replace all the flashing and now the roof leaks worse than ever. It was a long time before it rained iso I didn’t know it was a bad job. It finally rained a little and the roof leaked a little, but I had no idea what I was in for when the real rains came. now I have a huge spot on my ceiling as large as a 6’ x 3’ and leaking two places. First I paid him $3500 and I would pay the rest. I was having some troubles paying it and then the when the roof leaked then I was like you gotta fix the roof before I pay it and they’re like no you gotta pay us before we fix the roof and it just goes around and round like that. So his commercial about you don’t have to worry about his roof is bull and bringing his kids is just a show because he doesn’t care about his customers. I’m sitting here with a roof leaking into places and I’m at $3500 for absolutely nothing for making my roof worse.

  It is unfortunate that some will use this platform as a weapon against the small business. Mrs. Reames called our company three years ago and asked for a solution to a large problem she had on her commercial building. We inspected and instructed the customer that the only solution would be to install a new roof and gave an estimate. The customer stated that she would be unable to afford the full roof. She later called literally crying and begging for an inexpensive solution. We informed her that any repair we performed would be short lived that the building required a new roof. She persisted that she understands that its only a bandage but ask that we do the repair anyway. We performed the repair as contracted, however, the customer never paid her due balance. We called several times and was always given an excuse why she was unable to pay. Three years have passed and now she is leaking once again. She has demanded that we repair her roof. We informed her that not only did the repair we performed have no warranty (we informed her of this before doing the work) in addition, she never paid for the work and so she definitely has no warranty. She has posted these hate filled reviews to all platforms in an attempt to force my company to do additional free work for her. It's a shame that some will stoop to such levels. Scott A. Ricks
