Poor assessment, customer service, and overall accountability. We had a terrible experience with Avenue Road Roofing. I’d like to think that if everything goes to plan, they’re a fine company to work with, but from our experience if anything goes wrong, they’re an absolute nightmare to deal with. They do not stand behind their work and will deny accountability at all costs. There were errors made with the initial assessment which led to a leak not being fixed properly, and their recommendations also created an entirely new problem. While fixing the main leak, they thought it was a good idea to do some preventative touchups around a skylight, and while working on it, they broke the seal. It leaked for the very first time the next day, and they had the audacity to suggest that it had nothing to do with them. So we hired them to fix one leak, and they left us with two! We subsequently had to hire another company to replace the skylight for $2,000. I was astonished at how poorly Avenue Road Roofing managed the situation. I thought they would apologize and come fix it, but instead, they denied accountability for both issues. They said “there’s no warranty on repair work” for the main leak, which reappeared only 3 months later in the exact same place. They claimed that they did fix the original leak and that it was just a bad winter, but if the initial assessment was done correctly, they would have told us that it’s also necessary to replace the damper vent, not just the shingles. Instead, they explicitly told us beforehand that the leak was not related to the damper vent, so we didn’t replace it, but after the leak reappeared, they said it was related to the damper vent. So due to their misguided assessment, the leak was not fixed properly, and they refused to accept any responsibility for this. There are lots of other roofing companies out there, I’d strongly advise against going with Avenue Road Roofing.

I seldom leave bad reviews. Avenue must be slammed in this slower market because it is impossible to even get a quote. They sat on my request for weeks only to come back with a partial quote. Unusual given noteworthy competitors were able to provide a firm quote with the same information. Save yourself the trouble. I can't wait to read the phony justification or the all time greatest "we have no record of this customer"

Had a little leak in my roof. Avenue Road came and told me I needed a whole new flat roof. I decided to get a second opinion, and the other company said the flat roof was in great condition. They found a nail in the sloped shingle part, fixed it in 15 minutes, the leak hasn’t returned and it’s been a couple of months now with heavy rains. Sure felt like Avenue Road was just trying to keep themselves busy, I suggest you think twice.

Contacted Avenue Road roofing a few months ago for a leaking roof. They arrived as planned for a quote. It was raining and so they explained they would take a look using a drone later in the week. That may or may not have occurred. I don't l know, as the initial visit was our last communication. One star is for service. I obviously can't comment on quality of work or price. There are lots of roofing companies. I shouldn't have to follow up with them. The roof is now fixed with another company.

Pathetic experience from Avenue Road Roofing. I signed a contract with them 1 month ago to repair our roof from some winter damage. They worked very hard to get our business and then once the contract was signed they disappeared. Our estimator, Trevor has stopped returning phone calls and text messages. The one saving grace is Claire who works as the office manager. She seems equally as frustrated about the situation as I do. She has done everything in her power to make this right, but after speaking with them every day for the last 9 days with no resolution in sight I am forced to leave this review and likely seek another roofing company.

As a previous sub contractor to Avenue Road Roofing they nickel and dimed my business on most invoices submitted for carpentry work completed - asking me to reduce my invoice value. On my last invoice they simply wouldn’t pay for the work …

Chris (Maritimes Construction), You have always been paid for your work. It is you who actually agrees to a price before proceeding with any work. In the instance you refer to; you were not authorized by the Production Manager to proceed with the work, as there was no signed agreement in place, no work order, and no written estimate/invoice supplied by you in advance of being approved to proceed. This is and has always been standard procedure. Procedures are in place for a reason. All clearly explained the first time our procedure wasn’t followed and we absorbed the cost. Regardless of the above, we are still willing and working on resolving this issue. Time would be better spent working with us for a resolution rather than promoting lies with the intent to tarnish our name

Hello Helen, thank you for the feedback. We are sorry we were unable to accommodate your request. With the storms we had over 3000 requests for service, and unfortunately with that volume, we couldn't get to everyone. We are still working overtime to assist as many people as we possibly can. I hope you did find someone to fix your concerns. All the best,

We hired Avenue Road Roofing to replace the roof on the building where we operate our family business, and we’re very pleased with our experience. From the beginning, Doug clearly explained what the project would involve, including the expected timeline and cost, and communication remained clear throughout the entire process. Once the work began, there were a few hiccups along the way, but the team was always responsive and professional in addressing and resolving them. We’re glad we trusted Avenue Road Roofing with such an important project and will certainly keep them in mind for any future roofing needs. A special thank-you to our main points of contact, Doug and Fergus, for all their help throughout the project!

We needed a bathroom vent installed that concerned us because the bathroom had been renovated, so internal reconstruction was an issue. Avenue Road Roofing & Avenue Road Masonry were absolutely amazing! We were stressed, and they addressed all our concerns promptly and courteously. We were kept up-to-date on scheduling, the work was completed ahead of schedule, and the internal repairs look great. Huge appreciation to Robert and Phil for coordinating the project and answering tons of questions, and to the external and internal crews (especially Alex!) for doing such a great job. Highly recommended!

I will be sure to pass along your kind words to Robert, Phil, Alex, and the rest of our crews—they will be delighted to hear it. Thank you for choosing us, and please let us know if you ever need anything else!

Avenue road roofing did a fantastic job replacing an outdated roof on our old and aging building. Avenue road roofing was extremely professional and accommodating. There was zero complaints from any of the tenants (being in Parkdale, this is a small miracle) and we sleep easy knowing that the new roof will last for decades to come. I would recommend their work to anybody.

Joe and Kaz are two great gentlemen with a sense of humour and obvious experience and expertise. I wanted an inspection. They were immediately responsive, we booked a time the next day, they showed up on time, performed the inspection in the middle of a rainstorm, determined the roof is still in good shape, told me to wait a few more years, and refused payment. I almost wish I needed a new roof so I could hire them. First impression only but first impression very positive.

We had a roof leak and contacted Avenue Road Roofing. Phil came out the very same day and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He fixed the issue right away and took the time to explain other things we should keep an eye on. He was honest and upfront, letting us know that our roof wouldn’t need to be replaced for a few more years. There was no pressure at all to use their company—just helpful, genuine advice about what to expect. Phil was kind, knowledgeable, efficient, and provided excellent service. We would definitely use Avenue Road Roofing again. Thank you, Phil!
