Initial communication was great, contacted Ascent to get some replacement shingles and found out they are no longer produced. Worked with Micah for approximately 6 months to get full roof replacement through insurance. Insurance said they found some shingles close to my product and Micah agreed to stop and replace them. I’ve had zero contact since Oct. 2024. Previous contact was 2 months prior to that and I had to initiate to get answers. Maybe a good company but fell extremely short with this almost customer.

Nick, we have reached out several times to try and amend this. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to do the repair for free and make right what our representative failed to do. Please call us back.

Things started off great. They gave us a very competitive quote for a roof, ~8kW Enphase solar system + 2 Fortress eFlex batteries and Fortress Envy inverter. They originally included gutters in the quote - we asked that they re-use the ones we have (no problems with them) and after some back and forth they agreed to try. The roof install was quick, done in a day and a half. But instead of removing the gutters before install so they could be reused they tossed shingles on them and bent them up really good. They were going to charge us for new shingles but we argued with them about our agreement and managed to get them to replace the gutter for free The solar install went without a hitch. Battery / inverter was delivered in February (was on back-order). We were told it could be installed in basement during signing - on delivery we were told this was not possible without a $10k fire suppression system and that it would have to go outside. Would have been great to know this earlier. No attempt was made during signing to survey the house to see where a battery could realistically be placed. Our house is a bit challenging for an outdoor battery install because the windows are placed such that it is difficult to get the battery mounted to the wall while being far enough away from the windows to be up to code. The installer (Marshall) chose a spot on the south wall, where we get the most sun and heat in the summer (batteries last a lot longer if not exposed to large swings in temperature, especially heat), because it was closest to the panel and he didn't want to run extra conduit. Okay whatever, I'll build a shade cover for it and hope for the best. The install was supposed to require < 2 hours of shutdown of electrical for the house. They got started on the install around 11. They finally got the install completed and electrical back online around 8PM, 9 hours after starting. The system was supposedly now active (February) - later I learned that it was absolutely s

Zachary- the fact of the matter, as you stated, is Marshall who was a project manager on your install did a poor job and as a company noticed his poor performance and since have parted ways to ensure this mis management is not apart of our company as it’s not what we stand for as you’d see from our other Raving 5 star reviews. I believe Amber got involved and tried to remediate the issue- tried reaching out to you several times after we sent our electrician out and you didn’t respond after several attempts. You received your roof installed at cost and free gutters as we were trying to make situation right. I’m actually shocked at this review as we feel we have gone above and beyond to try and right a situation.

I want to start off by saying the day laborers were amazing. Super quick, respectful, just awesome workers and people. My issue is with the project managers at Ascent and the complete lack of communication throughout the entire process of getting my new roof installed. The contractor showed up multiple times unannounced. Forgot to tell us about the deductible. Forgot to ask about what color of shingles we wanted. Didn’t tell us what time the work would start or on what day. And he text me to say they were done for the day at 2 pm only to have the work continue for 3 and a half more hours until I asked them to leave because my dogs couldn’t handle the pounding anymore and needed to go outside. The workers returned at 9:30 PM and didn’t leave until 10:30 PM because they didn’t weather secure the roof earlier in the day and it was going to rain. I’ve never experienced worse lack of communication or basic understanding of what is happening to my own house. I don’t know if the contractor we were randomly assigned was new and just not super great or if this is how this company usually runs but I wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone who wants to understand what is happening or anyone who wants to be well informed about their roofing project because you will not get a lot of information.

I’m really sorry Abbey. We have since terminated our relationship with this representative. You have a beautiful roof that is warrantied for the next 10 years ! Thank you for letting us help.

I have the worse experience with this company. I had a representative helping from the get go with solar process and insurance claim. Apparently the rep and the owner had disagreements. All of the sudden I received a call from owner Jordan jones trying to cut the representative and the roofing company that were helping me out and only work with him. I thought this was unethical and unprofessional I felt I lost trust on this company and I decided to send the cancellation letter because I want to sell the house anyway. A week later they came to my house without notifying me to install the panels when my roof wasn’t done using scare tactics, Jordan threatened me to ruin my credit and say they were going to billed me for $19,000.00 when they haven’t done any work!! There are solar panels sitting in my garage and dealing with this company has been a mess! Save yourself headache and money and find someone else to help you(and i have proof!!!)

Miguel- I truly am sorry for your misunderstanding. The process, when you sign up for solar under a loan is legal binding. Similar to when you purchase a house- you sign the documents and you can’t go back and say “sorry I changed my mind! Thanks anyways” that is what we were trying to convey to you. It is unfortunate that you are being led under false pretenses by the solar representative who no longer is contracted with our company for exactly this reason- making false promises to his customers for our company to fulfill. We have had several of his clients come back to us for that reason as well. We truly wish you well.

**beware, don't get scammed** Extremely disappointed with the salesman Jordan who came to my parents house. I feel like he was out to scam my parents by relating to their similar religion and trying to convince them they needed to replace gutters on the entire house. They only needed a repair in one area and even that was exorbitantly over priced. Thankfully we found an honest company at a fraction of the price to replace and fix it and it worked fantastic through the rain we just had.

Jack and Linda were very impressed with the experience. Very good quality work. The roofers were hard workers. The salesman, Dharma, was accommodating and made sure the job was completed when originally planned.

I can’t say enough good things about this company! We were having issues with our solar system, and they made the entire process incredibly easy. They helped us get a new solar inverter covered under warranty and also got us access to monitor our solar panel usage again. They were quick to respond, kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. What had been a stressful situation for me suddenly felt completely manageable because they simply took care of what needed to be done. It’s rare to find a company that is this easy to work with and genuinely follows through. They took a huge weight off my shoulders, and I’m so grateful for their help. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing help with their solar system!

This is an unsolicited posting using zero ai, and I will update this review again as soon as Google allows a six-star rating: The Ascent Solar team is amazing: super knowledgeable AND super communicative! Our original solar installers went out of business, and our inverter and panels were acting up. So I looked for the company with the best ratings (thinking I would need to spend a fortune on repairs), found these guys, and had immediate response and troubleshooting help over the phone, with easy additional follow-ups; and their rates were impossibly reasonable for their level of expertise. New customer for life.

I want to write a review that is probably a little different from most reviews you’ll read about a company. I never hired this company. They never performed the work on my home, and I never paid them a dime. Yet I’m still taking the time to write this because sometimes you learn more about the character of a company before money ever changes hands than you do afterward. There’s an old saying: You only get one chance to make a first impression. Well, Jordan, Amber and their company did more than make a good first impression on me. They made a lasting one. I fully intended to use them. Unfortunately, some major and completely unforeseen expenses came up in my life, and circumstances changed. Then I was blessed with an opportunity to have my roof replaced for next to nothing. It was simply as a retired disabled veteran, something I could not financially walk away from. But I don’t want those circumstances to erase what I experienced with this company. This is a family-owned business, and from my dealings with them, those words actually mean something. Jordan arrived and looked me in the eye. Jordan shook my hand. Jordan said what he meant, and Jordan meant what he said. There was no feeling of being another number, another sale, or another dollar walking through the door. What I felt was something that’s becoming increasingly difficult to find in business today: Integrity. Honor. Respect. You can learn a lot about people by the way they conduct themselves when they’re trying to earn your business and you can learn even more by how they treat you when circumstances change and there’s no longer a paycheck waiting for them. That’s why I’m writing this. If you’re looking through reviews trying to decide who deserves the opportunity to earn your business, here’s a recommendation from someone who never became their paying customer: Give Jordan and Amber at Ascent Solar & Roofing the opportunity to earn yours. I can’t review a finished roof because they didn’t ins

My solar inverter (solar edge) I had installed 10 years ago was trippi g my breaker. I didn’t know if it was just the breaker or a real issue with my attempt or panels. I tried calling my original installer and was no-where to be found. I contacted Ascent Roofing and Solar and talked to Amber (owner) and was thoroughly helpful from the second I talked to her. She trouble-shot every possible issue and even sent out then their master electrician/installer to check everything on my system. It was the breaker, which they replaced and now my system works as did before the problem. In the mean time they were helpful in having other stuff checked out on my roof, Soffit and facia. They also gave me a bit for roof replacement that beat the three other bids I’ve received in the past couple of years. I would totally use them when I need any solar or roofing needs and anything in between. PR Draper, UT

12/15/2025 Ascent installed solar panels on the main roof at this Salt Lake City location for us, and installed a new roof on the detached garage. The work was done in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. The communication was excellent, from planning, to installation, to commission and sign-off by Pacificorp. We are on the grid at this location. I have the Enphase app, so I can see the usage and what goes to the grid. Ascent will now be our solar monitor company if there is a problem on the grid, they will see it, and keep us informed if any of the micro inverters have a problem, which I think will not happen fora long time. Update 07/31/2026 energy bills at this location are now $17 -$25 a month, down from $200 a month (in the heat) 12/15/2025 Ascent Solar and Roofing installed a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery, and expansion unit ( a total of 27 kWh) at a different location for us. The tech was very knowledgeable. Communication with Ascent is excellent, from planning to installation, to commission and sign-off by Pacificorp. There is a learning curve with this battery after installation, but the Tesla app steps you through that process of pairing in proximity to the unit. There are lots of youtube videos to teach how to read the monitoring system for this battery. Each time I went to as Ascent about something with the battery after installation, I was easily able to find the answer myself online. The Netzero app keeps an eye on the Tesla battery efficiency (not in the Tesla app at this time), and location outages. The Enphase app easily shows the amount of energy exported. The battery is on the grid and is ample to keep us and a few neighbors around us with basic power in-case of a major outage, now that we can store power on-sight, part of Salt Lake City's long-term grid plan.. The solar we have installed at this location keeps the summer energy bill around $15 a month (1500 sq-ft)without the battery. With the battery we have 97% efficiency (we were at 75% eff

When my solar panels stopped producing power, Ascent Solar was fast to respond and even helped trouble shoot my problem for free via text which saved me an expensive service call. They quickly found the problem and ordered a new inverter which was covered by SolarEdge, so I was only on the line for labor to switch it out. When my original installer was no longer in business, Ascent Solar and Roofing was there for me. Thank you!! Great job!!

I had a situation to meet the insurance company demands, in a short window. As I searched the net for a company to help, I happily found Ascent...they did a superb job, timely and so kindly. Each time I spoke to one of them I was greeted with assurance. They are real people, a small company with grand appeal. A giant thank you.
