  Avoid this company especially on attached houses! Can’t trust their work nor their word! Owner Chris is dishonest & dishonorable man. Hired them to replace an existing roof, remove old shingles to plywood, replace any damaged plywood & install new roof for me & my neighbor 8/13/25. 1/23/26 evening noticed leaks on walls & spots on ceiling in bedroom. Next day notified Chris of issue w roof leaking. Due to weather roof couldn’t be attended right away. 1/27/26 wrote to Chris that my neighbor, who’s roof they also replaced, has similar issues. I also let him know that after I inspected the roof there was absolutely no protection to the edge like a drip edge to protect snow or rain from going under the roof soffit and damaging walls & ceiling. To this, Chris responded that they don’t use drip edge they leave 2” over hang. Chris blamed weather conditions, snow, ice and wind instead of taking responsibility for improper job they performed. Chris blamed framing & plywood was done incorrectly but in my opinion that should’ve been addressed when they completely tore down the roof. He didn’t want to hear about fact that I had no leaks prior to them doing the roof & none of the neighbors had an issues except me & the neighbor who’s roof Chris also replaced. 2/20/26 noticed water bubbles were running down walls between other neighbor who’s roof was not replaced. 2/21/26 they came to put some flushing cement btwn me & neighbor where roof opened up & water completely ruined my bedroom walls. This forced me to take down the sheetrock because it was completely wet. When I opened the walls, beams already had mold. Until today, every time it rains, I get sips of water coming in through the roof & I can see water running on beams. They installed some sort of drip edge that another roofer who came to inspect roof laughed at & said no respected roofer would do something like this.   Stan G from 1051 West Fingerboard This review is inaccurate and misrepresents both the scope of work and what actually occurred. It appears to be part of similar complaints intended to pressure business owners after work is completed. Regarding the drip edge: it was not included in your contract, and based on the existing structure of your home, it was not required. Your property has a larger-than- average gap between the fascia and the plywood decking- a condition that has existed since the home was built, approximately 50 years ago. In line with that structure, we installed a longer overhang, consistent with how the roof had performed for decades and exactly the same as all buildings attached to your home. As per reported leak, which was due to historically unusual cold and icy conditions this winter, we responded promptly and inspected the issue 6 times as per your request. The situation didn’t reflect the severity described in your review. Notably, and as per our suspicions, you intentionally removed the whole wall of Sheetrock with a plan to re insulate your very windy and drafty back wall. Meanwhile, as per your request and additional payment we already insulated the ceiling in the same back room. We stand by the quality and integrity of our work, which was completed according to contract specifications and industry standards. Your roof is in great shape and remains leak free since the resolution. You have a 25 year warranty and we remain available to address any legitimate concerns, but we cannot accept claims that misrepresent the the facts

  Ever since they did my roof have birds in my attic which I never did before .. there is a space where are getting in when addressed the issue was told it’s not because of roof and to call someone else which makes no sense since there in roof which he installed besides the fact that they had to come back twice to reflash the flat part of roof because it was flapping in the wind and to clean my new pvc fence which was a mess after demo due to lack of protection or care for my property

  Pat, it took me a while to respond to your review. I wanted to make sure I use my words carefully as not to offend you. However, it has been at least 5 times that we explained to you that us doing your roof has nothing to do with your bird problem. It is directly related to your gutters not being cleaned regularly. We came and cleaned your gutters for the past 3 years for free, but we can’t continue doing this for you. I offered a 50% discount on gutter guards, yet you refused it. The birds are nesting in your gutter and causing water to overflow. We have explained and showed you the problem on multiple visits to your house at 44Gold Ave on Staten Island yet you insist on misrepresenting our company. It is not right and you should know it.

  Affordable Roofing is a #1 company. They should be a role model for all other roofing companies out there. I just bought a new home in Staten Island and was not aware that there was a problem with the gutters. I had called one company and the owner kept saying for a week that he was going to come by and never did. I was very stressed until I found Affordable and called Chris the owner. He was professional from the start and sent Andrew and the team to look at the gutters the next day. I needed a gutter replacement and of course the previous owners did not disclose this to me. Chris quoted me a very fair price and sent Andrew and the team ahead of schedule to replace the gutters and they did a few other tasks too. They do fantastic work. I have new gutters and I am very happy! Thanks to Chris, Andrew and the rest of the team. I will be recommending them to neighbors and friends. Affordable Roofing you have me as a lifetime customer! Thank you! Yvonne I wanted to say once again this is the second time I have used this company! Chris the owner is a real professional. Last week I had gutter guards installed.   After dealing with the same roofing issue for over 10 years, I can honestly say Affordable Roofing and Gutters saved me from a long nightmare. I had two other roofing companies replace my roof before, and neither one actually fixed the problem. Every time it rained or snow melted, I had leaks — and I felt like I kept throwing money away with no results.A friend recommended Affordable Roofing and Gutters, and truthfully, I was very skeptical.   Recently had my roof repaired south shore staten island ...this company was prompt and very professional. Their price and workmanship was excellent .
