They left the job unfinished for 5 months I although I notified them of sticking out singles and gutters blocked by the garbage single pieces from the installation. As a result we suffer window damages that refused to fix

    Reply from the business

Dear George Dimitriou, we’re sorry to hear that you’re disappointed. We value your business and take customer concerns seriously. We were surprised by your review because it does not reflect our understanding of what occurred. When we first met with you in November, we discussed the work that was approved by your insurance, including the gutters and downspouts, which you ultimately declined. We also discussed interior repairs that your insurance approved but that were not part of the work we performed. Your roof was completed in November. We spoke with you several times over the winter regarding your concerns about the shingles and explained that they needed warmer weather to settle properly. Once you contacted us to let us know they still needed attention, we returned and addressed your concerns within two days. In March, we also returned to your home and performed a water test with you present to make sure there was no water intrusion or other issue requiring attention. No water intrusion was found, and you confirmed at that time that you were satisfied with the results. We understand that home repairs can be frustrating, but the statement that we left the job unfinished for five months does not align with our records, our conversations with you, or the follow-up work we completed. We’re sorry that you feel differently about your experience, and we remain happy to speak with you directly to see if there is anything further we can do to address your concerns. — Anna, Customer Relationship Manager

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever been through regarding roofing repairs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Call John Beal. Affordability is laughable from the other reviews. On an 800 square-foot roof they ended up collecting nearly $12,000 from the insurance and still we paid out-of-pocket over $6000.

1 Star – Terrible Experience – Do NOT Hire This Company I was solicited door-to-door in June 2025 by Advocate Construction for a roof installation at my rental property in Olathe, KS. What was supposed to be a …

Dear Mike Burke, Advocate Construction respectfully disagrees with your statements that we have refused to address your concerns or stand behind our work. As a 5-star company, we take all claims seriously and have made consistent, documented efforts to investigate and resolve the issues outlined in your review. You mention “waiting for months and months”; however, after informing us on September 8, 2025, that the work was complete and you had no concerns, you did not notify us again until November 25, 2025. We immediately began scheduling efforts, but progress was delayed by tenant cancellations, rescheduling, and limited availability. We confirmed dates in December, January, and February, adjusting as necessary around the tenant’s schedule. On February 2, the disconnected flue pipe was discovered while our crew was performing the scheduled work. This was unrelated to the original project and appeared to have been in that condition for some time. We offered to hire an HVAC company, and you requested we use your contractor. The system was repaired, and our records show that on February 13, 2026, your HVAC company confirmed the flue pipe was properly connected, inspected, and operating safely. While flue systems are typically handled by licensed HVAC professionals, because we are an excellent company, we coordinated the repair with—and paid for—the HVAC professional you selected. Limited openings were required in certain interior areas for proper evaluation, which you acknowledged you understood. We also acknowledge your concerns about potential carbon monoxide risks. However, you previously confirmed that a carbon monoxide detector was installed and no alerts had been triggered. When our crew arrived on February 13, 2026, to begin the interior work, they encountered threatening and aggressive behavior, creating an unsafe environment that required them to leave the site. To proceed responsibly, we requested a signed waiver outlining the agreed-upon scope of work

    Reply from the business

Hi Kenny Lam, We are sorry for any inconvenience. Our team may have stopped by your home for a few different reasons. We work closely with homeowners after storms, and we often share our contact information with surrounding neighbors so they can reach us if they notice anything—such as a construction vehicle parked near their property, a delivery temporarily blocking access, or debris crossing a property line. This helps us respond quickly and provide the best service to the community. I’m not able to confirm the exact reason for the visit without your address so I can look up the notes in our system. If you’d like to be added to our Do Not Disturb list, or if you can share a bit more information, please email info@advocateconstruction.com or call 630-398-4600 and we’ll take care of it right away. Advocate Construction approached us and initiated two roof insurance claims in 2020 and 2025, but both were denied. In 2020, there was no follow-up at all after the denial. In 2025, they did request a second inspection, but it was also …

Adam, Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. Since 2020, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside more than 20,000 homeowners on storm restoration projects, so hearing that you felt unsupported is something we take seriously. I looked through our records for an Adam Smith in the Chicago area with claims in both 2020 and 2025 but wasn’t able to find a match, which makes me concerned we may be missing details needed to fully review your experience. Illinois has seen significant changes in the insurance market over the past few years, with many carriers reducing coverage areas, dropping customers, or leaving the state entirely after repeated severe storms. While we can’t control those carrier decisions, we can—and should—make sure homeowners feel informed about every possible path forward. If that didn’t happen for you, I’m sorry. If this is your situation, I’d like to connect directly to confirm your file and see how we can assist now. Even after a denial, there are often other options to explore, and our team is happy to walk you through them. You can reach me directly at info@advocateconstruction.com or call our Customer Success Team at 913-386-6700. Kurt

I cannot convey my appreciation enough to Advocate Construction. My former insurance company denied me twice. With times was after several homes in my neighborhood and MY NEIGHBOR got a new roof, due to storm damage. I went back and forth with them for a year and a half. The guys at Advocate got involved, helped me every step of the way. Communicated every detail and how the process works. They truly live up to their name and Advocate for their customers. I even paid out of pocket for extra work I wanted done. They are prompt and schedule the work around you. Again, this is a legit company that will work for you and get you what you deserve. Thank you very much for everything. We love the finished roof, gutters and fascia.
