This is not a reputable company in my experience. I had work done on our chimney and brought in Academy roofing to re-do the roof and flashing after the chimney repair. Shortly after the repair my wife noticed a leak below where the work was done. then after the snow we had recently a large leak formed. They installed the wrong materials for the job according to two other roofers that I spoke with to repair the leaking roof that they caused. They used rolled roofing on the cricket instead of shingles to save money I guess?!? I gave them the opportunity to admit to the hack job and perform the required repairs. They chose to quote me $1500 MORE for general roof maintenance like blowing out the gutters, caulking nail heads, not admitting their initial failure and perfectly content with charging me for more work while not addressing the obvious cause of the leak. I'm not a negative review writer and tried to speak with the owner or someone in charge, but was blown off so. Hopefully this helps the next person! I'm obviously not going to give these scammers any more money and would highly recommend that you do the same. Trust the negative reviews on here and hopefully we can keep the scammers from robbing anyone else

Sir, your roof has less than five years of life on it and we installed a commercial grade product 3 years ago which last 10-15 years on the cricket. This product will get you to and beyond the time to replace the roof. The chimney cap is leaking and it isn’t the roof. You experienced some ice damming as well some three years after we repaired your chimney. I can only guess why other roofers didn’t know this solution as the average roofer has been around less than two years where we’ve been 30+ years. We are GAF MasterElite in commercial and residential roofing so we offer solutions beyond the average residential roofer. Also, those other roofers told you that you had storm damage after we said no. You let them up on the roof and no telling what damage they caused. The insurance agreed with our assessment of no damage which showed the inexperience of those other roofers. Their opinion means little as they lied to you about storm damage. Your gutters are full of leaves, the roof needs to be replaced, and we gave a maintenance estimate as none as been done to the roof which has caused the issues. You spoke with our senior sales and warranty specialists who personally handled your concerns. He has almost 40 years experience. We are sorry you feel this way but if you stopped by our office, you’d see we are nothing but great people, and will continue to serve the community for years to come. Ultimately your roof needs replacing in the next few years and the chimney cap nails were backing out causing the leak.

I rarely leave bad reviews but I'm extremely dissatisfied with the quality of work, timeliness, and lack of coordination with Academy this time around. I needed a leak repaired in a roof valley and asked for a couple spots to have the soffit and fascia repaired again by them. I was told they'd be out in a week to get it done but it took 3+ weeks after multiple visits, work left incomplete, and calls/messages to figure out what was going on. Thank God it didn't rain. One day I took off work to be home just for them to reschedule at 4pm. At one point I had a large hole left in my soffit for a week from one spot left unfinished with no word from the worker. He just left. When they did get back to it, the work was sloppy and crooked. The wood grain shows through in both repaired spots, like no primer and rushed painting. That work is not something I would be proud of as a company or a home owner. I was also told I needed new gutters on one part of my roof and that they would be color matched. My house exterior is a yellow cream and the gutters installed were brown. I had to reach out yet again and was told that was as close as they could get. They finally agreed to painting them my exterior color. For what I paid, this was not at all worth it. Way too much of a hassle and chasing people to do the job right. I asked the rep to come by and take a look at everything with me but that never happened. I just gave up and will not be using them in the future. I pray the leak was repaired correctly because I am in the process of getting the interior leak damage fixed now and don't feel like wasting more money or time. *I was told in writing the gutters were taking so long because of color matching. It's in our conversation history that they would be color matched. My comment about the painting is for the soffit, not the fascia, as seen in my pictures of the soffit. I didn't ask for additional work on site to be free of charge. I asked Stacy about an additional area she pointed

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. Your repair project involved many trades and coming off the back of hurricane Helene caused it to run to three weeks. It involved roofing, carpentry, painting, and guttering. We do not make any guarantees regarding color match as the existing gutters were painted. This makes matching nearly impossible. The wood fascia comes primed which is why a primer wasn't necessary. Our sales representative, Stacy, did a great job with communication throughout the project as I can see the text message thread between you two. I even see where you asked us to do additional work for no charge and while we were there on site to help you out. I see the last text message from Stacy was asking if there was anything else she could help you with but no reply. We do appreciate your business and are here for you if there is anything you need in the future.

Their CEO sales your info after complete jobs and here comes the spam for you to manage. This sucks because it ruined my experience with the people I worked with. Typical executive behavior, ruining things for others.

Sir. I can assure you that Academy Roofing doesn’t sell your info to anyone. We do pay for a local small business in Kennesaw company called To Your Success to send a cookie tin or candy bag as a thank you for your business. Our customers rave about the freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. They also include a thank you card and a survey card for you to fill out but in no way is any information being sold. Please reconsider your review as this isn’t truthful nor does it reflect the services performed.

They did a terrible job with a water leak and it got worst now I hired another company to fix a bigger problem. Horrible service. I wouldn't recommend them.
Reply from the business
Mrs. Graham, while we appreciate you taking time to write us a review, we think you have us confused with the other company. You only hired us to clean out leaves off your roof, replace a broken tile, and replace a piece of rotten fascia trim down near the gutter. This was in August of 2022. We did not perform any roof repairs which would’ve lead to roof leaks. We hate you are experiencing leaks and are here for you. Please contact our office.

The manager was prompt in inspecting and providing us with a quote for quality skylights at a fair price. However, the process of getting our skylights installed was disappointing. The first day they were scheduled install was rained out (which of course happens). I was rescheduled for the following week. The rescheduled day came and went. AR was a no call/no show. An email to the company assured me I was on the schedule for the following day. However, they were again a no call/no show. Again, the company was contacted and stated that someone would be out the following day to install the skylights. The next day I received a call from the installer stating he was 20-30 minutes away. About 30 minutes later he called back saying he was too sick to work. After contacting the company yet again, AR said someone would be out the next morning for sure. The same installer called the next day to say he would be arriving soon. When he arrived weather was too poor to work but was forecasted to be perfect later in the day. As it wasn’t dire, we agreed for him to be back at 9:00 am on the following Monday. All this was relayed to AR office, and I was told that the manager would be following up by phone or email about my experience. I was never contacted. Monday the installer finally shows up at 10:30, drops his crew off and leaves for another job. They finally finish, but then I noticed the mess they left. A couch where one of the skylights is located was covered in dirt and dry wall dust. There were also dirty handprints left on the painted ceiling where they had reached in while working. The following day, I received a bill that overcharged me by $750/20% (matching an outdated estimate – this was quickly corrected after notifying their office). COVID has strained many industries in the US, leaving many without enough workers and short on supplies. Maybe this is the case at Academy Roofing regarding their installers or if their costumer service has taken a down turn. For th

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. Unfortunately with your project there was a perfect storm of weather, a vehicle issue, our technician being sick, and then weather again. We definitely could have been more prompt with updating you faster for sure regarding some unforeseen scheduling events and our team will be meeting to implement ways to do this moving forward. Regarding the bill, there was only one proposal provided to you on 9-16 with an option for remote blinds on the skylights but after approval it was determined the remote control portion was on back order till June 2022. This $750 option was then declined. When a project is approved initially within our construction management software, the initial total is entered and then automatically synced to our accounting software. We apologize that you received an invoice for the original contract amount but as soon as we were notified we quickly corrected this. We would never try to over bill someone for services not rendered. That is not how we have built this business for almost 30 years now. While we like most businesses are navigating through this world living with COVID, that is not an excuse for us not communicating faster or making sure you receive the proper invoice. We will take feedback like yours to heart and work to improve our customer service as we strive for 5-stars with each review/experience.

Distance is never an issue when it comes to a warranty claim. Instead of contacting your homeowner's insurance company in August after the hurricane, you contacted the shingle manufacturer. The shingle manufacturer opened a warranty ticket. The address listed on the ticket matches a roof we did many years ago but the name on the ticket isn't a customer of ours. The roof does have a premium warranty which covers installation issues. Since this was a premium manufacturer warranty the manufacturer chose to send out another contractor to inspect the roof and take photos. They did share those photos and it is clear that an object hit the roof and shattered the plywood. Based on your review, it sounds like the shingle manufacturer ruled that it was not an installation issue or we know they would have gladly paid to fix it. It sounds like they ruled it was a result from the hurricane and an act of God. We are sorry you are going through this but you are not a customer of ours and we have no labor warranty with you.

Called Academy roofing to do a roof inspection as i was having wet spots show up on my ceiling. Getting an appointment scheduled was very easy. After scott came out i agreed to have general roof maintenance done for an estimate of $695. An estimate means this is how much it could cost not how much we are going to charge you for very little work. My roof maintenance appointment was scheduled for Saturday and I was told by Bailey someone would call me to let me know they would on there way. Well Friday i have people staring in my windows and then Eddie calls me to let me know they are there. He was rather rude when i was like you are supposed to come tomorrow (saturday). He informed me it was going to rain saturday and he wasn't going to work in the rain. That bailey was supposed to have to called and told me that the schedule was changing. When i spoke with Bailey she told that Eddie was supposed to have called me. I don't appreciated companies where employees throw each other under the boss. Doesn't speak to a good company environment nor does it give me a great impression of the company. Also, i had other work scheduled for Friday that i had to move because of their unannounced arrival. So eddie and his crew spent 10 minutes on my roof and i have a bill for 695. When i asked for a detailed summary i got some images of a roof. With no proof that it is actually my roof and was told eddie brought extra people so the work went fast. Well... that's a lie. There was only one dude that went up on my roof.

I apologize for the miscommunication and since this event we have sat down with Eddie to provide additional training. Our technicians are required to call when they are running early or late. My deepest apologies.

We had an unfortunate situation right before the holiday weekend, July 4th. My husband was in our attic, slipped and his leg came through our ceiling. I panicked not knowing what to do. I made a connection with Jennifer at Academy Roofing. She was so kind and was able to make a call to her team to hopefully find someone to assist us. Kaleb accepted the job. He came out the very next morning (mind you the company was actually closed). Kaleb was very detailed by explaining the repair process, taking pictures and getting us a quote that same day. We approved the quote and they were here within the week to make the repair. My husband was able to patch it to hold us over until the repair could be done. We are so pleased with the whole process and the extra care that was provided to us. We highly recommend Academy Roofing for your next repair OR new roof.

Danny and Jacob did a wonderful job treating our roof job as it was at the top of their priority list. They did a wonderful job assuring us that our property including our gardens and landscaping would be cared for as if it was their own. Approximately 25 years ago Academy put a roof on the house when we went into contract with the original owner and it has lasted since we had it replaced because the original roof components aged out. I was pleased to see how well Academies workmanship passed the true test of time. Thank you Danny and Jacob for caring for our needs and thank you for treating us as family. In addition I was extremely impressed with the way that the crew was respectful of our property and to see the great pride that they had in their work. Yes, I will leave the Academy Roofing sign up and be sure to recommend them to neighbors, friends and family.

Awesome service from Academy. Scott came out and gave me a quote and answered all my questions. They were able to schedule the service faster than expected. Jacob kept me informed of the work as the installation progressed. Once complete, Jacob explained everything and walked me around to verify the cleanup.

Scott and Jacob were fantastic. My roof was done on time and looks great. The entire crew were very polite and cleaned up everything before they left.
