The critical reviews
The one and two-star reviews, first. These are what a star average hides, and they are the reason this page exists.
The only one or two-star review we hold for Velux America.

Their Solar Powered Fresh Air Skylights are supposed to close automatically during rain - they DO NOT WORK reliably. Ours stayed open during a heavy rain after months of little to no rain. I had mine installed by a Velux certified …

I have had Velux skylights since 1993. One finally started leaking with snow dams, so it had to be replaced. There are upgrades on the window that seem to be improvements. It has a solar powered shade that works really slick. I do wonder if this solar powered shade will still work 30+ years from now as my old window shades work with a pull string--I guess we will see.

Fantastic company and very well made products. We’ve added Solar Tubes to both of our homes and absolutely love the improvement they’ve made in every way. Highly recommend Velux.

P J McTavish & Co (Maryland) recently purchased a Velux skylight with Solar blinds through Beacon Supply. The purchased order went swiftly, we had our factory Solar blind skylight in hand in 3 days, and the skylight installed within 7 days of our initial contact with our customer. Excellent service from Velux, Thanks. Patrick McTavish Roofing Contractor

Where this page comes from
Every figure above is Google’s, captured on 24 September 2026. The star average and the 10 ratings behind it are counted by Google across all of its reviews. The review text on this page is a sample — we hold 10, of which 8 have any text — and it is not everything Google shows.
Roof Warden does not verify licenses, bonds, insurance or workers’ compensation cover, and nothing on this page should be read as though we had. Confirm those directly with the contractor and with your state or provincial licensing body before you hire anyone.
There is not much data on Velux America. A short record here means our capture found little — not that there is nothing to find, and not that the business is new or inactive.
