  Reached out to Upstate to get an estimate on replacing our large front picture window. They responded quickly and setup a time to come look at our project. A gentleman showed up and looked at the project and said he would need a few days to come up with a quote. We never heard from him for almost two weeks. I reached out by text and he replied apologizing he was away and he said he would get me a quote that evening. I never heard from him again. Decided that if I had to track him down for just an estimate then I can’t imagine how it would be if I hired them. I ended up going with another contractor. I gave 2 stars because at first the process seemed easy and they did respond to my inquiry quickly. Though the gentleman was not very personable or energetic to take on our job when he visited. It’s too bad because they do have a lot of positive reviews online and was hoping to use them for other windows and projects. The response says it all!

  Upstate is great. Received a timely quote and Andrew did the siding on my house in a couple days and the work is great. Having them come back for additional work. Highly recommend !!

  I highly recommend this company. Val and his crew are hardworking, dedicated and meticulous. Excellent communication and always met deadlines. Their work looks outstanding. Siding, skylight, roof repair, chimneys repaired, windows rewrapped etc.

  I had some damage done from the terrible winter we had here in Central New York along with some damage from the snow removal done by another company which I will never use again. Val and his crew were on time and efficient and did a perfect job doing the repairs and install of my roof. I’ve used Upstate before and will continue to use them if needed. Thank you!

  Best Company for any type of exterior home improvements. I contacted seven (7) companies to first get siding replaced/ all seven companies stated NO to repair only new siding. Home Improvements repaired damaged aluminum siding from 80’s without incident and very reasonable. I decided to replace roof and repair chimney. REASONABLE, HIGH QUALITY OF WORK, Outstanding is all I can say. Repaired my rotted porch/ timely, reasonable, quailty is 2nd to none. I won’t go to anyone else but Home Improvements.   Every time the wind blew, I'd find another broken piece of shingle in the yard. Often, it would be a whole shingle. It was time for a total roof replacement. A few years ago, Val came and patched a couple of spots and we knew then it wouldn't last. Val was across the street doing an estimate for a neighbor. We talked. Our insurance company came out and we discussed the existing wind damage. Three weeks later there was a truck unloading supplies in the yard. A few days later a van pulled up stacked high with ladders. I was leaving for work and a couple of hours later my wife called to let me know Val's crew had most of the old roofing off and was starting to replace some of the rotting decking. 13 hours after they started the last truck pulled out of the yard. Over 2000 square feet of roofing, decking, rebuilding the rafters and facia on the front porch flashed the chimney and the only sign they had been there was the marks from the pallets in the side yard. Did I mention my house has seven gables? The quality of the work is unequivocally superior in every regard. It starts with Val's integrity and his pride of workmanship. His crew, said my wife, was like watching a carefully orchestrated ballet. No wasted movements; each step leading to the next. Debris was removed as fast as it was created. I can't begin to say enough positives about the entire experience. I won't live long enough to have Val do another roof for me, but I can tell everyone who needs one: Upstate Home Improvements is the only call you need to make.
