  They came to do work in our absence and without our consent. Following a discussion with a man named Patrick, claiming to be the owner, about our disagreement with them coming to our property without prior notice, we were called crazy and threatened with a formal notice! However, we had roof work done in June 2023, and that went well.

  We hired this company for a condominium association of 34 townhouses, and it was a disaster from the start: - Three houses had water leaks during the work because the company didn't properly cover the roofs at the end of the day on the houses they had started work on and didn't have time to finish them that day. - We discovered immediately after the work was completed that the company hadn't installed the promised under-shingle membrane, which was included in the contract and which we had paid for, and they refused to correct this error. We should have been on the roofs with them to supervise. - One house had a skylight with the wrong dimensions, and the company promised to replace it and correct the error, but still hasn't done so after three years, despite repeated promises. They refuse to honor their warranty even though a house experienced leaks after the work was completed due to improperly installed shingles around the chimney, and the company is demanding payment to make the corrections. Basically, a very bad experience for complex and large projects. They might only be suitable for small, less complicated projects.

Unfortunately, it's important to mention the actual facts regarding what you told us above. 1- It's important to mention that there was only one small water leak (we're talking about a few drops that left a small pocket, about an inch in diameter, in the drywall of the ceiling) despite the temporary protections installed at the end of the day. Unfortunately, during the work in the first section, there was a huge thunderstorm in the evening with strong winds and over 20 mm of rain. It is important to mention that when the owner contacted us at 10 PM, we dispatched an emergency team within an hour to secure everything (a temporary protection that shifted due to the strong winds of the storm) (Photo attached). 2- The statement that the membrane was not installed is completely false. Please note that the eaves membrane was installed as specified in all the eaves and valleys, as well as a synthetic paper covering the entire surface. We even went further; we installed a self-adhesive, high-quality membrane behind the chimneys (Photo attached). Furthermore, one of the owners was present on the roof throughout the entire project, as you asked him to check all stages of the work, which he did. 3- All skylights that were installed were installed perfectly according to VELUX product recommendations. No skylights that were too small or too large were installed. It is important to understand that if you have a condensation problem, you must follow the recommendations of the VELUX skylight supplier.   In the fall of 2022, I hired PG toiture for a roofing project, fully informing them about my roof's tendency to form icicles in valleys and the necessity of reinstating existing heating cables in specific areas. They also persuaded me to add two special vents for better attic circulation. On installation day, however, the crew proposed removing the heating cables, assuring me that ice damming wouldn't be an issue and promising to address it if it occurred. Contrary to their assurances, we faced significant ice damming that winter, leading to water damage in the exact area of concern. When I contacted Pascal, one of the owners, his response was far from professional. He initially denied the agreement about the heating cables, despite the fact that I had never dealt with him directly during the initial sale. Despite his reluctance, he did de-ice the roof, a service I paid for, and agreed to install the heating cables for free the following summer/fall, though I would need to purchase the cables. Despite my appreciation for this resolution, my attempts to contact him during the summer and fall - through calls, voicemails, texts, and emails - were met with complete silence. While PG toiture's product quality and installation efficiency are commendable, their post-installation customer service and accountability are severely lacking. Based on my experience, particularly with the issue of the heating cables and the subsequent communication challenges, I am hesitant to recommend PG toiture for roofing services.

  Hello Maxine, for any questions you may have, you can write to us at info@toiturespg.ca 1- At Toitures PG, we advise our clients against using heating cables for two reasons: they cause premature wear of the asphalt shingles, and debris gets trapped behind them. This also exacerbates ice dams by creating more water that freezes overnight. 2- In your case, the ice dams persist despite the added down-slope ventilation due to poor attic insulation, as has already been mentioned to you. 3- When you experienced a problem with the ice dam, we came to correct it and prevent further damage. We found that your handyman had already started the work using an axe and had damaged the shingles by striking them directly on the asphalt roof. 4- We never mentioned that we would install heating cables for free.   In terms of the roof being done well , I can't speak to that yet.. it looks good but we will see how it holds up . However , after I repeatly told them to cover my pool before the work was done , they refused to do it until I demanded it …

  Excellent work on our roof repair! The team was efficient, professional, and courteous from start to finish. Pascal took the time to clearly and transparently explain the work to be done. The work was executed flawlessly, the perimeter of the house was left in impeccable condition, and the final result is simply fantastic.   Excellent service for repairing a leak in my roof. Communication with the team was easy from start to finish.   New shingles installed in June. IKO, Dynasty. 4 experienced roofers and 2 helpers at 7:00 AM. First day of the year with heat and high humidity, the team worked hard and sweated a lot. Work well done and a roofer came back in less than 48 hours for a minor, non-urgent correction. WOW!! Now that's good service. I recommend this company to everyone, and Pascal has many qualities: experience, information, attentiveness, and various documents. BRAVO TO THE WHOLE TEAM.
