  I called Stublin Roofing when I saw them working on a house four doors down from me on Charlotte Drive. I called them to see if they could come out and give me an estimate. I talked with either Mike or Eric. I can’t remember which one and they said they would be glad to come out and give me an estimate within the next 3 to 4 days Well that was two weeks ago and I’ve never heard from anyone so I realize you’re busy but this is a priority to me and having not being able to wait any longer I have since going to someone else so I would’ve liked to have done business with you, but I guess your workload was more than you can handle, but I guess that’s a good thing so apparently you have enough work to provide for you and your family which is good so I have moved on and thank you anyway

In the six business days following that call, our immediate family’s world has been turned upside down by the loss of Paula’s father, Jerry. During this time, our dedicated in-house team has shown remarkable resilience, stepping up to keep day-to-day operations running while wearing even more hats than usual. While we’re incredibly proud of them, we fully recognize that we inadvertently over-promised (3-4 days) and under-delivered (6+ days) in your case 💔 We regret that we didn’t match the urgency of your high-priority project.   Called to get an estimate for repairs to a roof. I was told that they don’t give estimates and no matter what the problem, big or small, it is $500. I can’t believe they can’t do an estimate and charging $500 right of the bat is highway robbery

  Hi Laura, it seems there may have been a miscommunication about our company's estimating policies. We DO offer and provide hundreds of free estimates for full roof replacements every year, and would be glad to come to your property and do the same. However, our current policy for roof repair diagnostics is to send out a licensed, insured, skilled service technician to inspect, diagnose, and attempt to repair your roof all in one visit. For this, we charge a minimum of $500, which is then applied to the final invoice for the work that was performed. We believe our experienced technicians who are willing and able to climb onto a roof, into an attic, troubleshoot, explain, document, and repair roofing problems, are well worth it. We hope you are able to find a fully licensed, insured, and reputable local roofing company to provide you a free estimate for your roof repair.

  Called Stublen Roofing Company in Portsmouth, Va. I have some roofing leaks and wanted to see if I could get someone out here for an estimate. I was told they don’t do estimates and to send pictures so they can see what kind of repair it needed then they will send their tech out at $200/hr. I was told that if I disagree with the repair estimate or the repairs that I would still have to pay the hourly rate of $200 just for them to see it. I don’t do business with businesses that DO NOT give estimates. It sounds like a scheme to make money regardless of whether you agree with the repairs or the type of workmanship. Get estimates!! Don’t fall for “we will charge you regardless of what we don’t do just for showing up”. I recommend calling other companies that will come out and take a loo at your problems then give you an estimate for repairs without charging you for it.

  Hello Mike. We are sorry there was a misunderstanding - we have always given free estimates for full roof replacements. We do charge $200 for repair diagnostic estimates, however, this price is later applied to the final invoice once the project is complete. If we send one of our knowledgeable service technicians to a property, our goal is to complete the repair at the initial visit. If it is determined the project will take longer than three hours (or ~$600 max), we then provide a written or verbal estimate before moving forward. Our technicians are some of the best in the area; we believe in their work and we compensate them accordingly. The time it takes for a skilled member of our team to travel to a property, diagnose an issue by inspecting the interior space, attic space, and rooftop is both necessary and valuable. Our repair/service call system is designed to provide the most cost-effective, efficient, and best quality service possible. We have built this system to protect our employees, whose proficiency and integrity we revere, and our customers, whose time and property we respect. We will continue to operate this way and serve members of our community who understand the importance of compensating hardworking employees for quality service, and are sorry we were unable to help you with your project.

  Ive used this place in the past with good results, however I have called 3 times over a 2 week period just to get a quote!! No one ever returns phone calls. The person who answers the phone is very polite and professional however no one ever calls back or follows up.

  Called immediately after the hurricane. Office line directs to an emergency number. Left 3 messages before I got.a call back. Owner downplayed my repair even though I have water damage on my 2nd and 1st floor ceilings and insulation to replace now too. Said small 20 minutes job wanted his office to call me th3 next day to schedule. Asked that if I decided to have someone else do it to call back to free up his schedule. Next day no call until I called them in the late afternoon. Then they tell me 3.weeks before they will.come.out. totally different than what the owner said the day before. Will never call this company again. If you can't do right by folks on small jobs would never trust you with a large one. In 5 to 8 years when it will be time to do my roof I know who I WON'T call.

Immediately following any hurricane, our repair technicians work sun up to sun down to service the hundreds of the incoming requests. We do our best to schedule their time as efficiently as possible, while trying to ensure we give priority to those with immediate (emergency) needs. But there are times when our best isn't good enough. You fell through the cracks after hurricane Matthew, and there is no excuse for that. We hope you will be pleased to know we have since put processes in place that streamline our internal communication and CRM to make sure this does not happen to anyone else.   Lousy service waited a week to get a person for an estimate no-one showed up after I had taken the day off from work got a call after appointment time to say they weren't coming guess rheyrd much to busy for my work I'll go somewhere else

  Absolutely fabulous! I needed roof repair to get to a few more years before buying a new roof and the people were professional and knowledgeable and the price was affordable. When I replace my roof I will be coming to them!

  We had such a great experience with Stublen Roofing! We had used them several years ago for some trim work on our house so when it was time to replace our roof we knew we wanted to go with them again. One thing that really stood out to us was that many of the same people were still working there years later. To m, that says a lot about a company when they’re able to keep good employees around for that long. From the beginning everything was easy. They came out to talk with us and answer questions, got us a quote quickly, took our deposit and got us on the schedule. Our start date was exactly when they said it would be and they communicated with us throughout the whole process. They even figured out how to get all of the roofing materials onto our property without driving over the new concrete we had just poured. The actual roof replacement was seriously impressive. They started on a Friday and finished the entire roof in ONE DAY. We’ve watched other homes in our neighborhood take 2–5 days so we honestly couldn’t believe how quickly they got it done. Even with how fast they worked the crew was respectful, hardworking and did a great job cleaning everything up. The onsite manager was also great about communicating with us and explaining what was going on. They left our house looking really clean when they finished and even came back the following Monday to take care of the last few things. We couldn’t be happier with our new roof or with the experience we had with Stublen. Everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly and clearly took pride in their work. We’re so glad we chose them again and would absolutely recommend Stublen Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof!

  No job too small for Stublen Roofing. Pipe collar surround was leaking and causing wet ceiling in an upstairs room. Gave an estimate and within timely manner repaired roof today. Curtis was prompt and personable and answered all of my questions. Will definitely recommend to anyone needing roofing assistance!
