  Extremely Disappointed with Solid State Construction We hired Solid State Construction to do the siding on our home, and the experience was very frustrating from start to finish. The sales representative Adam made a lot of promises that were not kept — we were told our house would look “absolutely gorgeous” with no visible seams, but that was far from the truth. There were multiple mistakes during the project, and parts had to be redone because the crew didn’t have the correct information from the salesperson. The project was also delayed several times, and communication was poor throughout. After the work was completed, no one followed up to see if everything was okay. Since the siding job, we’ve had mice in our home for the first time ever, and I have addressed this with Erika (the Owner) and was dismissed by her and Chris the project manager stating it is not due to anything they did. I do not believe in coincidences. We also noticed our gutters — which they reinstalled — are now leaking and have yet to come fix them and the project was completed in July. It feels like once they got paid, the company stopped caring. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would never recommend Solid State Construction to anyone, and I hope others avoid the stress and frustration we went through.

  Hi Kristen. I've looked at the pictures of your completed job overall it looks great!! If there are any small items you feel weren't done correctly please let us know... We're happy to take a look. We do have your gutters scheduled for service. It's not uncommon for old gutters to not fit perfectly after reinstalling to the new siding and sometimes this can allow some water to travel behind them but it's usually an easy fix. I'm sorry to hear you've got mice. It has certainly been a heavy year for mice activity. Everyone I know that had a home in Massachusetts, myself included, had been experiencing a lot of mice this fall. While new siding can sometimes help with pests if the old siding had lots of holes, it really isn't intended as any kind of pest control nor would there be any kind of pest proofing done as part of a siding project. The best avenue for you, myself and anyone else struggling with this problem is to contact a good pest control company. Best of luck. And please let us know if you are any items you don't feel look right. As I said, overall your house looks awesome! Love the black James hardie trim with the grey James hardie siding. I think it's a very nice look for your home.

  This is the best experience I've had with a business. I'm widowed, on my own & was not confident of a company to choose. After much research, from the first phone call to meetings with JC & Markeis who are both wonderful; all went smoothly. JC especially followed me through this whole process and never thought my questions were unreasonable. I appreciate the workers and everybody involved; Chris measured up the windows, handled everything very professionally and I'm thankful that I found Solid State in Shirley, local to me which it's always a plus. Anyone looking for Hardie board siding or excellent windows please trust this company! Adam installed a side deck for me which was much needed and the result was excellent, & again Adam answered all my questions so thanks guys! Sis Carlson of Harvard

  Though we were unable to actually move forward with the project we consulted on (nothing to do with SSC), we had a great experience with Solid State Construction. JC was a wealth of knowledge and provided very valuable information about siding and roofing materials and costs. We will absolutely hold on to their contact info for when we are able to purchase a house and we’d recommend consulting with them to anyone looking for exterior contractors. You guys were amazing and so incredibly helpful!

  The Solid State Construction Company constructed a deck for me, and I am very happy with the quality of their work. The team was professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. I was especially impressed with Adam, who stood behind his company’s work and responded promptly when a defect occurred. They came back and corrected the issue without hesitation. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was outstanding. Overall, I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality workmanship and excellent customer service.   Solid State Construction (SSC) masterfully transformed our old & crumbling house exterior into a vibrant, elegant home with amazing curb appeal by showing clearly why they are Massachusetts' top James Hardie (JH) fiber cement siding contractor. We received bids from multiple JH siding contractors & did our due diligence through one on one meetings carefully comparing details on all proposals. SSC stood out not only by their willingness to work with our budget & offer creative suggestions/solutions but by expressing their utmost desire to take on this project. Our initial meetings with SSC staff, J.C. & Adam, were pivotal in our decision process & their handoff to our experienced Project Manager, Chris & his crew, was absolutely fluid. But the true test came when the crew headed by Jeudson, Clayton, Bruno & Julimar did their magic on our home, estimated to take 4 to 6 weeks but completed in only 3. Their skill, work ethics & dedication to the project was outstanding & it was those 4 people who made this project come alive. It was difficult to let them go but fortunately, the SSC electricians, Steve & Bret, came afterwards expertly putting the finishing touches on our home so we were still able to enjoy some time with other SSC teams.   Solid State Construction just completed a challenging garage door frame restoration and new roof installation on my 1940s-era garage and I'm extremely pleased with the results! This was my 4th project with the company. They are dependable, knowledgeable, skilled, and really understand the issues with older construction. From the evaluation & design work by Owner Jeff Brooks and Project Manager Adam R., to the actual construction headed by Crew Chiefs Silva and Leo and performed with their teams, the follow-up electrical work by Steve G., and excellent communication & updates by Erika B. in the office, this was another successful collaboration to beautify my home. The cost was reasonable for such quality work. Once again, I highly recommend Solid State! Solid State Construction did a phenomenal job revitalizing and preserving my beloved (but very weather beaten) 132-year-old, 3-1/2-story Victorian home with James Hardie siding and 19 ProVia windows! From my first call to the company, through the creative design consultations with Kerri T. via Zoom, the demolition and installation phase led with skill and a keen attention to detail by Project Manager Brandon K., Crew Chief Ezequiel S. and his team, Quality Control Consultant Rudi D., and the trouble-shooting expertise of Electrician Steve, the helpful updates from Executive Assistant Jackie C., up until the final punch list item was done, it was clear this talented team not only knew all about James Hardie siding and how to install it, but how to do so skillfully and carefully on an older home. A small yard and common driveway also posed challenges for equipment set up, material storage, and debris collection, but the team dealt with all of that in stride. Communication throughout the project was EXCELLENT. Daily texts, regular phone calls, and on-site chats with Brandon ensured my peace of mind as the work progressed.   I had my siding done by Solid Estate Construction on my home in Roslindale, Massachusetts, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is excellent—the house looks completely transformed. Their team was professional, detail-oriented, and clearly experienced. They took the time to make sure everything was done right, and the finish is clean and precise. You can really tell they take pride in their workmanship.   Solid State Construction performed a complete residing of our home this winter, as well as installing new windows. Anyone living north of Boston knows that the winter weather of 2026 has been extremely challenging, but Solid State rose to that challenge. The 'boots on the ground' workers showed up in some harsh conditions, and the work they did was consistently stellar. They were a wonderful crew to have working on our home. The project manager, Chris, dealt with any issues that arose calmly, effectively, and professionally. I believe that Solid State went above and beyond in their work on our home, and gave extremely good value for the price. I not only recommend them without any reservations....I heartily endorse them.

  Replaced pine siding with Hardie board and replaced a garage window. We contacted Solid State in mid-October when we discovered our siding needed replacement. By the end of the month, we had a signed contract. The materials (and dumpster and porta-potty) arrived 2 weeks later. The crew worked through freezing temperatures and multiple snow storms. A change order for the replacement of rotted sheathing was handled smoothly. Once the project was underway, communication from the project manager dwindled, but he was always available by text or phone. Cleanup when the project was complete was immediate and very thorough. I have a pear tree espaliered on the back of my garage. Looks spectacular in bloom and even produces a few pears. I thought I would have to lose that tree. Nope! The crew came up with an elegant, ingenious (and almost invisible) way to re-attach it. I get to keep my tree! The house looks wonderful and we look forward to years of little or no maintenance. And maybe some pears. Thank you Solid State!
