  The trim around our windows are peeling off leaving bare aluminum. Finding the trim all over our yard.

  I'm surprised to see them still in business. I could write a book about the shabby job they did for me 15+ years ago on the "addition" part of my house---and of which I am still finding issues with each year. About 2 years ago someone went up on my roof to make a repair from a tree branch. He laughed and said that the roof was in such horrible condition that he was afraid he was going to fall through. Keep in mind that my original roof on the old part of my house is STILL standing and was put on in the 1930s. With this snow fall, the S & K roof finally bid us farewell and leaked into our kitchen. So we are getting a completely new roof with a reputable company. I've found other horrific problems over the years that they caused. Poor plumbing in the master bathroom. Marble slat in our bathroom put down wrong. An issue in my master bedroom with the floor. I would not wish these people on my worst enemy. UPDATE regarding the Owner's note: The work on our home was an ADDITION and the "Owner" is fully aware that they put an addition on our home. In fact he walked through and approved the addition. They added a bedroom, 2 bathrooms and an enlarged kitchen to our home. He even admitted to it in the past in past reviews. The work was a shabby job, which is why he is too embarrassed to even talk about it. Regarding the ROOF....my original roof was SLATE and in perfect condition so I had no reason to replace it. The only reason S & K ended up adding a roof was because they put an ADDITION on my home, which obviously came with a roof. Fascinating that they are trying to get out of admitting facts. The roof was so poorly done that a worker laughed at it and told me he thought he was going to fall through it. I'm having it fully replaced. I should have had it replaced years ago because this company has been the "gift" that keeps on giving and they STILL won't take responsibility.

The project you’re referencing was completed over 15 years ago, and S&K does not perform plumbing or flooring work. We are a roofing, siding, windows and exterior remodeling company. So the plumbing, marble and bedroom flooring concerns mentioned would not have been work performed by our team. If there are specific roofing concerns tied to a past S&K installation, we would absolutely want the opportunity to review documentation and understand what occurred.   Communication prior to signing the agreement was great, as could be expected, but once I signed the contract and paid the deposit things went downhill. First of all, the lead time of the job was a long 10 weeks. I called about 8 weeks in and they said they were waiting on the materials and "Mary" would surely call once they were in. Mary called the day before they wanted to start the job because the "crew" finished another job early. So clearly she did not call when the materials came in, she called when it was convenient for them. Second, once their team tore off the old shingles they said they want to remove all the old first layer of siding and replace with plywood, so add an additional +$5,500 to the job. I told them I don't have the budget, just replace the wood in areas that are damaged. So what do they do? NOTHING. they don't replace a single piece with plywood and then they wrap the house so you can't see what they DIDN'T do. So was that lazy? Spiteful? Incompetent? Im not sure, maybe a combination. But it certainly wasn't professional. We had to make them cut back the house wrap to see the damaged areas, then call the sales rep. Meanwhile, the foreman on the job is frustrated because WE didn't want to replace ALL the plywood on the house. I would not recommend this company because they are clearly looking for a fast buck and not interested in building lasting relationships with customers.

  They did not do any work for me but I selected these people because they have really good ratings and really good reviews but when I call for an estimate they are asking me all kinds personal information about the house and wanted to know if I lived there and if the house was mine and looked up the house and made comments and was pretty rude about it. I don’t know what was the issue and hope I was not being profiled.

  I initially spoke with Annie, the customer service rep, who was very sweet and helpful. She told me she’d pass along my information to a supervisor in the field. I eventually received a call from the supervisor, who at first seemed knowledgeable and willing to help. After that initial call, communication completely fell apart. The sales manager, Robert, stopped answering my phone calls and would only respond via email. I asked him for an updated quote and specifically requested a phone call to discuss details — he never followed through. As for pricing, it was completely unreasonable. They quoted $975 to replace an existing attic fan with a new one, and $1,040 to cut a new hole and install a second attic fan at a different property — with them supplying the fans. Between the lack of communication and the inflated prices, I can’t recommend this company. Look elsewhere if you want better service, transparency, and fair pricing

  This company came highly recommended! They replaced our roof in 2007 with a 30 yr certainteed asphalt roof! However when trying to switch homeowners insurance to cut costs, the ins company cancelled us stating our roof was not good at all. I reached out to S&K requesting if they would plzzzz come re evaluate our roof! The response I received after numerous calls was they do not have ANYONE to provide such a service! . Are you serious??

  We recently had a tree fall on our roof the weekend of July 4th. Several branches went through a ceiling crawl space and the bedroom ceiling. We contacted S&K roofing that Monday regarding repairs. James the S&K adjuster arrived that afternoon to evaluate the situation. He was very thorough, knowledgeable and explained everything to us in detail. He was also present when the insurance adjuster came a week later. James stayed in touch with us and was always available to take our calls. Our new roof was completed in 2 days. The crew did an excellent job. This is our second full roof replacement by S&K and we highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

  I had S&K replace my wooden deck of 30 years with Timber Tech. They were easy to work with from Matt to Holly to Mary and Kyle and Mark did an AWESOME job! It is beautiful and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely use S&K for all my future home projects. I highly recommend them!

  Rebuilt my deck and did an excellent job. Workers were very good, easy to interact with, answered any questions I might have. I have used S&K several times over the years, they have installed new windows in my house - actually 2x - once at a previous house. They also replaced my roof a few years ago when it was damaged by a tornado. As with the deck they did an excellent job on all projects which is why I consider them first if I have any significant house repair issues. I would like to also add they have been very generous with some of their giving in particular to the Carroll County Food Sunday program. They care about their work and the community- a nice combination
