Ryan’s roofing has continued to harass me for the last several years, begging for Harrisburg‘s best roofing company when they refuse to come back and do another job for me. Meanwhile, they were literally doing a job directly across the street from my home that they got from doing my house. They have been notified now two years in a row to cease and desist all contact with me. this is now escalated to criminal harassment my suggestion would be never use Ryan’s roofing he’s unreliable. He only cares about his money. Did a shitty job on my roof. I had they made multiple mistakes and errors. He refused to come back and do the garage and the addition sorry greed is the only thing he cares about and getting nominated for Harrisburg‘s best much better roofers out there much more professional people and I’m sorry but criminal harassing me about a vote that he’s been told multiple times deceased and desist contact with me about his company and he continues to harass me. I will be filing criminal charges against him personally, for the continued harassment. That’s who you They were quick had a few workmanship issues with the install which were remedied, somewhat. I had called him back to replace the roof on my garage and addition, he couldn’t be bothered while a few weeks later they were across the street replacing my neighbors roof. Asked for a quote on another property and again couldn’t be bothered to provide a quote. They’re great for one job but have no value in a relationship or doing more work. One hit wonder. They got $15,000 in other work but couldn’t be bothered with anymore work for me. Last job was over $30,000 and wouldn’t follow through. Low price fast service it was like a one night stand. Won’t ever recommend them again. No loyalty.

Most homeowners know the challenges of working with contractors. Finding a contractor that will show up, do the needed work, and do quality work is an expensive gamble. This is a two sided issue, of course. Some customers are combative or abusive, refuse to pay, or are unnecessarily disagreeable. Oh, well. In this case, someone from Ryan's Roofing came out to my home, I explained the job, and then he disappeared, never to be heard from again. I have cash in hand, ready to pay any reasonable amount for the needed work, but I received no communication at all. No quote. No "We're busy and will get back to you next week." Nothing. Obviously, I can't force a contractor to take on a job they don't want to do. Professional courtesy would suggest that a simple message from Ryan's Roofing to say, "We can't do the work," or "We're too busy," or even "Not interested." Pretty much anything is preferable to being ghosted. And, well, now I need to try again to see if I can get someone to do the work.

Do not go to these guys for a small job. I called and asked for an estimate to simply have a few leaks fixed. When they sent the estimate, they sent an estimate to have the whole roof replaced rather than one for the service I had asked …

Didn’t show up to provide quote at scheduled time. No one has reached out since.

    Reply from the business

Bennett this review seems a little silly and out of place and I'm not really sure what to make of it. You reached out to us via Facebook several months ago and we repeatedly followed up with you for several weeks to get your contact info to schedule an appointment for you. You were completely unresponsive. Fast forward to a few weeks ago you call into the office and we have a scheduled meeting for Thursday the 20th at 4PM. You left this review on the 19th....meaning we missed an appointment that hadn't even happened yet...

They used malicious practices and overcharged me. I paid over $27,000 just to tear off the existing roof on a 3,400 sqft building which is ridiculous. I cannot comment on the quality of their job because they just teared off the old roof and did not put on the new one. I am currently consulting other roofers for the new roof.

++ Wanted to add a comment after my post was responded to. Correct I did accept the quote, but to be fair my expectation was that this would have been a 1-2 hour fix and not a 20 min fix. Knowing what I know now I would have just fixed it myself if it was a simple 20 min fix (honestly couldn't have been all too difficult with a simple youtube video). It's the lack of knowledge on my part that caused the poor decision to outsource the work but that still doesn't change the fact that given the actual time it took to do the repair the price feels high and I would have never known that prior to the work being completed. Workmanship (to my knowledge was fine) but all I needed was 1 sheet of shingle repaired on my roof and I was charged $450. The gentleman who did the job was at my house no more than 20 min start to finish. Extrapolated that is over $1300/hour - just too expensive for me to recommend to anyone else.

    Reply from the business

Good afternoon Matthew, As you know, we provided you with an estimated cost for repairs 7 days prior to any work being completed. You approved the price and scope of work needed to repair the ridge cap shingles that had blown off of your home. I cant help but feel this 1-star review feels a little unjustified given your approval of the estimate. Obviously, more time and costs go into a job than physically being on the roof. Thanks

Had our roof done in 2020. Permits were never obtained to work in the historic district of Harrisburg despite being told it wouldn’t be an issue and they would handle it. Was issued a fine in my name and was told it would be taken care of. Roof repair was quick, but I came home to a hole in my ceiling. Fast forward to 2024, I fixed the ceiling myself and have since moved, there is still a citation, unpaid and a warrant with my name on it. Great support up front when trying to sell me the roof, execution and after the sale was a nightmare.

    Reply from the business

Jon, after several failed attempts to contact you regarding this matter I figured I would try here. The fine was in the amount of $624.65 which I paid. The amount you are referring to I would assume is for the initial building permit. I also included a copy of the original contract that states "ANY AND ALL PERMITS NEEDED TO START AND COMPLETE ANY JOB IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOMEOWNER AS WELL AS THE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOMEOWNER" Obviously, being 3-4 years ago I do not remember the specifics of this particular job. I did want to clarify the fact that YOU were responsible for obtaining the permits as per the signed agreement and I still paid the $624.65 fine on your behalf. Thanks

After the February snowstorm a leak developed in a 2nd floor bedroom ceiling. Ryans Roofing was recommended and they did not disappoint. I called on February20th and Jeffrey came that day. A 2nd leak occurred on Feb 24th. Drone pictures were taken on Feb 26th and source was confirmed. On Friday the 27th the roofers came repaired the damage and cleaned everything up. I would give Ryan's Roofing 5 stars x 10. They did an outstanding job helping me with the roof damage when my neighbor's tree fell on my roof. I have 3 large holes and damage to the roof's truss. This happened on Friday afternoon after 5:00 p.m. Ryan coordinated with the tree removal company so they could tarp the holes until they can permanently repair my roof. The tree company was here early on Monday morning and Ryan was ready. Just as Ryan finished, the rain started. Ryan was professional and friendly.
