I regret engaging this company to replace my roof. They knocked on my door unsolicited, ended up convincing me to get a new roof, bought a bunch of unnecessary ad ons in the process and here are the results. Less than 3 years later the roof is falling apart and conveniently it is not covered by warranty. They quote an exorbitant amount to repair and threaten you with voiding warranty if someone repairs it. Buyer beware. Run before you become another victim. Shop around and find a reputable company that will engage professional subcontractors. This company has also bombarded me with solar proposals. They are good salesmen but the job done is shoddy!

We stand firmly behind our workmanship and disagree with this characterization. After inspecting the roof, we found that the affected areas had been damaged by animals, not by defective materials or improper installation. Animal damage is not covered under the workmanship warranty, which is why we provided a quote for the necessary repairs rather than treating it as a warranty claim. We did not threaten to void the warranty. We explained that repairs performed by an unaffiliated contractor could affect warranty coverage in the areas they alter, which is standard practice. The original roof and all additional upgrades were reviewed and authorized before installation. We understand that unexpected repairs are frustrating, but the damage found during our inspection was unrelated to the quality of the original installation. We remain willing to discuss the findings directly and stand behind the work our team performed

Mark, this review does not accurately reflect what occurred. The insurance supplement process was clearly explained from the beginning, and the additional amount in question is approximately $200 in insurance funds, not an added charge to you. These funds were approved by your insurance company for work that was actually completed on your home, and your out-of-pocket responsibility did not increase. We stand behind our work and our handling of this claim. Please contact me directly at info@theroofdocs.com so we can discuss the facts.

You need to have a solicitors license to go door to door. Nobody appreciates you bugging people on a Sunday.

Send solicitors to peaceful neighborhoods to knock on doors after 5pm, ignores “no solicitors” signs. Look up their other low star ratings.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any disturbance this caused in your neighborhood. For context, we typically only reach out to neighbors with no solicitors signs right before one of our installations is scheduled nearby. It’s a quick courtesy notice to share our contact info (in case any debris lands on their property) and to let them know there may be some extra noise and activity for a short time. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will use it to improve. If you'd like to discuss this further or have any additional details that could help us address it, please feel free to reach out me directly at info@theroofdocs.com

I gave this company three chances, and each experience was disappointing. I would not recommend this company, especially if you are working with an insurance claim. All three claims submitted by this company were denied by my insurance. Because of these repeated failures, I am now in a difficult position where my insurance premium may increase or I could even be dropped by my insurer. This situation could have been avoided with proper experience, communication, and understanding of how insurance-related repairs should be handled. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. If you are planning repairs that involve an insurance company, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere

Be very cautious when considering this company. They are high pressure and require a contract with a $2,000 penalty if you decide to use another roofer. Before signing anything, speak with your insurance company—they are already familiar with this company and their aggressive approach to “maximizing” insurance payouts. They initially present a reasonable estimate for a roof replacement but later increase the price based on what they can obtain from your insurer. They also claim that certain upgrades or replacements won’t cost you anything, yet may ask you to sign off on work that was never completed, such as gutters or downspouts. In my case, they quoted $22,000 but ultimately billed $29,000 after attempting to push the cost to $33,000. Meanwhile, comparable homes in my neighborhood paid under $20,000 for similar roof replacements. In there contract, they claim that they are entitled to all insurance payments This company appears to focus solely on insurance-based jobs and is highly practiced at extracting additional funds from insurance carriers. The State of Virginia recently enacted laws prohibiting contractors from handling claims or discussing policy coverage on behalf of homeowners—activities this company engages in despite the statute. I expect they will deny this, as that seems consistent with their approach. Their practices not only increase costs for homeowners but also contribute to rising insurance premiums for everyone. I highly recommend that you contact your insurance company, get an estimate, then shop roofing contractors that NOT optimized to extract money from insurance companies. You will find it a lot cheaper and not feel like a pawn to use to extract money from the insurance company.

George, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. While we always appreciate hearing from customers, we must strongly and categorically disagree with virtually every statement in your review. The contract you signed contains a standard cancellation provision that is common throughout the home-improvement industry and is considerably lower than most. In practice, we rarely enforce it; we only consider it when a customer signs with us and then attempts to assign the same insurance scope of work to another contractor. That did not happen in your case. The supplement process you write about is not unique to our company, it is standard operating procedure on every single insurance-funded roof replacement in Virginia. We submit supplemental requests only for line items that the insurance carrier’s original estimate omitted or under-scoped (flashing, decking, ice-and-water shield, pipe jacks, drip edge, etc.). These are not “upgrades”; they are code-required or manufacturer-required items necessary for a proper, warrantable installation. We do this for the policyholder’s benefit so the roof is built correctly and the homeowner is not forced to pay out of pocket for items the carrier should have included in the first place. The contract you signed explains the supplement process in plain language and states clearly that any approved additional funds from the insurance company belong to the project and are added to the contract price. It also states that your out-of-pocket amount (including your deductible) will never increase without a signed change order. No such change order was ever presented to you because no additional out-of-pocket cost was ever requested. We never asked you to “sign off on work that was never completed.” From the initial meeting, it was mutually agreed that gutters, downspouts, and window wrapping were approved by your carrier but would not be performed by us. You were issued credits for every one of those items before final invoicing,

RoofER did an outstanding job on our home and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We had them install new gray siding and the transformation is incredible — the color is exactly what we wanted and the craftsmanship is top-notch. A special shoutout to Ramon and Andre, who were fantastic throughout the whole process. They were professional, punctual, and clearly took pride in their work. They kept the job site clean, communicated with us every step of the way, and finished on schedule.

My home was damaged by hail. Roof ER identified the damage and helped me put in my insurance claim. They moved quickly to get work dates set once the claim was approved and I'm very satisfied with the work. First, a shout out to the different teams--the main roof, the window trim, copper roof, gutter covers and downspouts, and internal repair and painting (result of leaks). Every member of their team was professional and respectful. They worked hard and did great work. I am particular and was impressed. Where I asked for a few things to be addressed, they immediately took care of it. Next, a big thanks to Ben and Ramon. Ben was critical on the initial assessment and insurance claim, making sure that all came together, and Ramon was so incredibly patient and easy to deal with as we walked through the options and contract. Again, I'm particular and he never missed a beat. He clearly knows what he's doing. So, just a few days after completion, I couldn't be happier with the process or the results. I highly recommend you give them an opportunity to earn your business.
