Very disappointed with my experience. Roof Smith installed the roof on my new home in 2021. We never noticed any issues until a heavy rainstorm in 2025, when we discovered a leak. Roof Smith came out to repair it and assured us the problem had been fixed, but the leak continued. I contacted Roof Smith to ask if the repair was covered under warranty. I was told there was no warranty on the repair. They said they could send someone out to assess the issue and give me a quote, but after the failed repair, I had no confidence in having them do the work again. I then hired another roofing company to inspect the roof. They found that the ice and water shield had not been installed correctly and repaired the issue. I have photos documenting what they found. I also spoke with a Roof Smith manager, who told me the problem was my builder’s fault, not theirs. They refused to stand behind the repair or cover the cost of fixing the leak or the damage it caused inside our home. It was extremely frustrating to have the company that installed the roof refuse to take responsibility for its work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Roof Smith and would encourage others to choose a company that stands behind the quality of its workmanship.

We'd like to respectfully correct the record. This roof was installed in 2021 under contract with the home's builder — the builder's warranty was one year. The roof performed leak-free for four years. When this homeowner contacted us in July 2025 (not 2024), we came out and made the repair completely free of charge as a courtesy, years past any warranty. Our records show no further contact from this homeowner until July 2, 2026 — after another company had already been hired, completed its repairs, and been paid — when we were asked to cover that company's bill. The photos we were sent were taken after the other company had torn out the area, and show a different location than our 2025 courtesy repair. We offered no-cost help in 2025 without hesitation, and we would have done so again had we been given the chance. We can't pay another company's invoice for work we were never allowed to see. Our hundreds of other reviews reflect how we treat every customer, and we stand behind that record.

Do not use this company. They put our roof in in 2021 and last summer (2024) we had a leak. They came out and “fixed” it last year. Fast forward to this summer, same leak in same place from a bad rainstorm. We called them and they said it was not under warranty so they could come out and look at it, but We would be charged. We obviously aren’t gonna use them again since they didn’t get it fixed the last time so we had another company come out and fix it. They started looking into everything and found a hole where the leak was coming from. It wasn’t done correctly when it was installed We had them fix it and we had to pay a $3,500 bill. I sent photos of everything back to Roof Smith showing where it was done incorrectly when it was bulit. They took zero accountability and basically blamed it on our builder for not catching it when he did a walkthrough. They did not offer to make it right in any form. Disgusting company

Wasn’t very happy with our service and quality. Very disappointed. But maybe I’ll win a speaker!

Very disappointed – poor workmanship and no accountability. We built a brand-new home and hired Roof Smith to install our roof. From the start, we had a major leak that went on for over a year. Instead of fixing the actual problem, they kept trying quick, temporary fixes with tar and patchwork. We later found out the flashing was installed incorrectly, and there were holes everywhere. Because of their poor workmanship, the leak ruined our brand-new hardwood floors, and the wall had to be replaced multiple times after repeated water damage. Each time we called them back, they tried to blame everyone else instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes. After this experience, I would never recommend Roof Smith to anyone. If you’re building or repairing your home, save yourself the stress and find a company that stands behind their work and actually fixes problems instead of covering them up.

Hi Lauren, We’re truly sorry to hear about the frustrations you’ve experienced with your new home. We understand how stressful water-related issues can be, especially after a major build. We would like to clarify a few important details to ensure future customers have accurate information. Roof Smith was not hired directly by you, but worked as a subcontractor for your builder. Because of this, we were required to perform our scope of work based on the builder’s sequencing and timeline. Much of the flashing and exterior trim shown in your photo was installed after our flashing was set, which is not the proper order of construction and created conditions outside of our control. Over the past year and a half, we have returned to the property many times—often to address issues in areas not related to our scope—to help identify leaks throughout multiple parts of the home. When we discovered items within our responsibility, we owned them immediately and corrected them. We also re-roofed the entire back section of the home at no cost, even though the issue was caused by another subcontractor, not Roof Smith. Throughout the process, our team was persistent, responsive, and committed to helping resolve the problems, even when they extended beyond our trade. We understand your frustration, but the statement that we “did not take responsibility” does not reflect the efforts we put into resolving the challenges created by the overall construction process. If you’d like to review any project details, timelines, or documentation, we would be more than happy to discuss them directly. Our goal has always been to ensure the homeowner ends up with a properly functioning roof and a positive long-term experience. We complete a lot of new construction for other builders and NEVER have any issues. I think you really need to be looking to your builder for accountability on your issues. Thank you, Roof Smith Management

Terrible driver on I-40 weaving in and out of traffic! No way I'd hire them to fix anything.

Jennifer, we are so sorry that someone in our company was not driving well. If we knew who it was we would address it individually, but we will encourage our guys how important driving safely is. We can guarantee we can fix your roof better than we can drive.

I notice you keep changing your name on the review? Is it Laci or Barbara Strout? Either way we are so sorry you were unhappy with a repair you received. Sadly we feel like you left your review on the wrong company page as your are not one of our past customers, nor did we complete a repair for you, nor do any of the products we use meet your description. If you would like to call our office we would be glad to complete a free inspection and help you with the poor repair you received.

After the large hail in west Amarillo, I contacted Roof Smith and Conner Hollabaugh came to see me. He was very professional and pleasant to work with. He met with the insurance adjuster and they got along great which is not usually how it works. Any time I had questions and left him messages through voicemail or text, he got back with me promptly. The roofers were terrific. They worked hard and cleaned up extremely well. I will always use Roof Smith in the future.

We had Roof Smith install our roof several years ago and have been very happy with it. What I’ve appreciated most is knowing they’re a local company we can call if we ever have a question or concern. It’s easy to leave a review right after a job is finished, but I think it says even more when you can look back years later and still say you made the right choice. We’ve had a great experience with Roof Smith and would recommend them to friends and family.

Roof Smith are the best. Their team replaced our old roof. They were very professional and did a very thorough job. The new roof looks great. Conner even changed our light bulbs that were on a very high ceiling and installed carbon monoxide detectors for free! Highly recommended.

Roof Smith did an excellent job on my new roof. Justin stayed in touch with me on scheduling and communicated any issues that came up during the work. They completed my job start to finish in one day and they left my property cleaner than before they started. They installed new metal roofing on our patio and it looks fantastic. I highly recommend this company. Great work and great people to deal with.

Had a wonderful experience with Chris E. Explained everything very in depth to what each item cost and why it mattered. Did not try to oversell to an item that wasn’t needed or wanted. Showed the total project overview as well as time frame for completion. Highly recommended.

Chris Elam was very knowledgable about roofs and getting them inspected for damage. He reallly helped me decided that roof smith is going to be our roofing company moving forward!
