  My experience with Roof Doctors was disappointing. The contracted work involved replacing broken roof tiles, resetting slipped tiles, and sealing certain roof components. When the technician arrived, he appeared frustrated that I was home during the repair. During our conversation, he seemed uncertain about parts of the scope of work he was supposed to perform. Before he started, I specifically asked him to take photographs of the repairs so I could see what work had been completed on the roof. He agreed to do so. Less than an hour later, he came down from the roof and stated that the job was complete. When I asked for the photographs he had agreed to take, he refused to provide them and appeared impatient with my request. Afterward, I made multiple requests to their office for documentation showing that the specific repairs identified in the contract had been completed. I did not receive sufficient documentation to verify the work. Rather than resolving those concerns, the matter escalated into a payment dispute, a mechanic's lien was recorded against my property, additional charges were demanded beyond the original contract amount, and the matter was ultimately referred to an attorney. As a homeowner, I believe it is reasonable to ask for evidence that contracted repairs were completed, especially when the work is performed on areas that are not easily visible from the ground. Based on my experience with the workmanship verification, communication, and handling of the dispute, I cannot recommend Roof Doctors.

The repairs were completed in accordance with the approved scope of work, and photographs documenting the completed repairs were provided as part of the invoicing process. We understand that homeowners want confidence that repairs have been properly completed, which is why we routinely document our work and make that documentation available to our customers. In this case, we responded to requests for documentation and provided photographic evidence of the completed repairs. Regarding the payment dispute, we made multiple attempts to resolve the matter directly before pursuing any legal remedies available to us under California law. The filing of a mechanic's lien and subsequent legal actions were not taken lightly and occurred only after repeated efforts to obtain payment for completed work. While we regret that this project resulted in a dispute, we stand behind the quality of the work performed and the documentation supporting its completion. We remain committed to providing professional roofing services and transparent communication to all of our customers.

  If you like paying top price for sub par communication and waiting weeks for repairs, hire this company. They will charge you additional money for a 2 year roof cert when they inspected the whole roof and performed almost $4,500 in repairs, …

  Unhelpful, Over priced, $30,000 for a roof repair. Unwilling to do patch ups. If you value your money and time. I recommend looking elsewhere. Best of luck.

  This Reviewer wanted an estimate for repair, and we informed the Reviewer that his roof is past its useful and needs to be replaced. In our opinion, the roof is not repairable. This Reviewer never paid Roof Doctors any amount of money for an inspection or for a repair. He is upset because he is expecting a repair, rather than a full replacement, but that is not possible due to the current condition of his roof.

  I hired this contractor to replace my roof, expecting a professional job. Unfortunately, the experience was far from it. They started the work and met with the city inspector on hour 1 of project, who informed them that part of the roof needed a slope adjustment. Despite this, they started the job and failed the inspection and then abandoned the project without completing it. The worst part? They left the roof uncovered, leading to leaks in my home for three nights in a row. When I reached out for answers, I was told to find another contractor to fix the slope issue so they could "come back later" to finish, which was unreasonable and unprofessional. It took countless calls to get any clarity on whether they would actually return, and in the end, I had to hire a new contractor to finish the job. After all this, they still had the nerve to send me a bill for almost 95% of the contract, despite leaving my property in a vulnerable, incomplete state (even area-wise, the incomplete part was more than 30% of the all job). I’ve since filed a complaint with the California Board of Licensed Contractors and talking to attorneys for my next steps. Homeowners deserve better—do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a reliable, responsible roofing contractor." Update: they have reached out to me by phone and email bully me into paying for the work they didn't finish by saying that we are putting a lien on your property. I just informed CSLB and my lawyer immediately.

  Prompt, very informative, and honest. Bill inspected my roof. No leaks. End of story. They had certified my roof a year prior. I am very satisfied with the level of service.

  I am sure the work is fine it always is, but the employee did not chat with us before he left, so we honestly were unsure if it had been completed or they were going to come back to finish the job. Maybe a bit more communication next time!

  Paul Puscizna did a great job of fixing a leaking valley in our roof. He replaced it with wider waterproof paper in one long sheet all the way down so there wouldn’t be nail holes for water. He also fixed several broken tiles because they don’t make them any more. He said there was damaged paper from the leak but the plywood underneath looked good, which was a relief.
