DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR - Ron Clement. I had the same exprerience as the other user - flat roof repair, and now a year later roof is leaking and unable to get a call back from this contractor. Phone calls go to voicemail, and they are not returning messages. It appears that he is MIA.

We contacted Ron Clement from Roof Corp in Cambridge, Ontario to repair our 10'×12' flat roof which was leaking. He assured us he was a specialist in flat roofing and that we will be satisfied with his job. Ron gave us an estimate, we agreed and he started working. Upon uncovering the roof more problems were found, he called us to point out the issues and told us that the repairs will be more expensive but never gave us an exact amount to finish the job. We trusted him and let him fix all the issues. After the job was done the amount on the invoice was 50% more than the estimate. We did not argue and payed Ron almost $6000 the same day he finished the job. Couple of days later we had a storm. After the rain there was a large puddle of water on the roof. We were surprised since one of the points we discussed before Ron started was that he was going to create a slight slope on the roof to avoid water accumulation. We called Ron, he came to look at the problem and said that the amout of water is not an issue. It has been more than a week since the rain and we still have standing water on the roof. Ron gave us a solution to eliminate the standing water issue which involved us paying more money to him for something that should of been fixed in the first place. Also the solution involved breaking all the ceiling from inside the house to bang on the wood in order to install shims to create the needed slope. The house is old and in our opinion that banging can create more problems with the structure which can be more costly to us. We contacted other flat roof specialists and everyone agreed that standing water which doesn't evaporate after 2 days is a problem, we have standing water for over a week now. Some roof specialists gave us other solutions which we communicated to Ron, but it seems he doesn't agree with them since we have not heard from him back. We are very disappointed with his work, lack of response and professionalism.
Reply from the business
The customer was very cordial when onsite doing the work. The work contracted for was to strip the existing 1 layer roof down to the deck, replace 1 rotted joist, re-deck then apply a new, seamless energy efficient membrane. Upon stripping the first roof layer, an additional roof was found under the first which also had to be removed. The customer was shown as soon as found, and told this would incurred extra charges. Upon stripping this 2nd roof off, extensive rot and damage was found in multiple areas of the roof and adjacent walls requiring additional cut out and replacement of framing members. Again, this was shown as soon as found and permission was received to perform the additional work. This is what constituted the increased charges. The contracted replacement was then done, and the bill was paid promptly by the customer. As a note, the extra work caused the job to take over twice as long as the initial contracted work yet the extra charged was only 62% more as I tried to do my best to keep the extra costs down. After a rain there was water remaining on the flat roof which is common with flat roofs. Upon being informed of this I immediately went out to see the job (same day). I offered a solution which would help better direct the water at the low spot. I offered to do this at cost ($500). The customer did not want to pay anything more nor did they want to do the fix I suggested but wanted me to strip the roof again, rebuild the roof to include a slope (which would require a building permit) and/or strip the roof and install tapered insulation - all at no extra cost to them. That was, by no means, what was initially contracted for. I contacted the customer the next 2 days and again offered to do it from the outside at cost but they would have none of it and wanted the additional work done for free. They initially did not seem like that sort people to me, but I was wrong. Apparently, they want something they never contracted nor paid for. I

Where this page comes from
Every figure above is Google’s, captured on 24 September 2026. The star average and the 4 ratings behind it are counted by Google across all of its reviews. The review text on this page is a sample — we hold 4, of which 2 have any text — and it is not everything Google shows.
Roof Warden does not verify licenses, bonds, insurance or workers’ compensation cover, and nothing on this page should be read as though we had. Confirm those directly with the contractor and with your state or provincial licensing body before you hire anyone.
