  A disastrous and unacceptable experience. Work began on June 27th and only finished two days ago, making the process interminable. From the outset, communication problems were glaring: no advance notice by email or phone regarding the installation date or the presence of subcontractors on site. Worse still, the site was left in a dangerous state, littered with hundreds of nails and shingle scraps. Work included in the quote, such as the roof valley, was omitted. Furthermore, the roofing membrane is incomplete: only the first six feet at the bottom are covered with an IKO ice-break membrane, but the last four feet at the top of the slope lack the promised IKO synthetic membrane. Our garden hose reel was broken. No response or offer of compensation. A company to absolutely avoid.

  I recommend caution before doing business with this company. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Refait Toit was very disappointing. I made a deposit with the promise that the work would be completed before winter 2023. However, there was a significant lack of communication and no confirmed date for the work, despite several follow-ups on my part. Not to mention the blatant lack of professionalism from the moment the contract was signed. Furthermore, they sent me a new quote for $51,450.74, a 412% increase over the initial contract of $10,048.82. Both quotes were prepared by the same person: the owner. Following these difficulties, I requested a refund of my deposit. Unfortunately, as of today, August 2026, I have still not received my refund. I have therefore filed a claim with Small Claims Court and am currently awaiting a hearing date. I am simply sharing my experience so that consumers can take it into account before doing business with this company.

  Initially, we were asked to do a repair. Upon arrival, your roof was far too rotten for a simple repair. We therefore advised you to have it replaced (which you declined). It's understood that a repair versus a replacement is not at all the same price. Furthermore, yes, you requested a deposit refund, but you ultimately decided against it and to continue doing business with us. Why are you complaining about this? It is in NO WAY our fault that your wood is rotten. Stop blaming us for YOUR negligence.

  I don't doubt your comment; this is a company you shouldn't entrust with your roof replacement. They tried to charge me an extra $10,000 on a $51,000 project, claiming they had made a mistake regarding the actual surface area and that it was 20% larger. A quote cannot be changed unless there is an unforeseen reason, which is obviously not the case. They didn't even bother to go up on the roof to measure; it was done using internet software with satellite imagery, which they claim is very precise. I measured my roof myself, as did an independent company, and both arrived at the measurements in the quote. Despite all this, they insist I pay the extra 20%. The work has been at a standstill for over a month. The new sheet metal has been lying on my property for over two months. It's impossible to communicate anymore; I leave messages and get no response, and the owner's voicemail is full. If you want to live through hell, go ahead and do business with them; you won't be disappointed. I seriously doubt the positive reviews about this company.

  Absolutely avoid them! We contacted them for two hours of work on the roof, and we're still waiting for the work date after more than five weeks…zero communication and zero professionalism

  Bad company and bad service. The metal roof is poorly installed, scratched, and badly finished. They came three times, and my veranda roof still has a problem. I do not recommend them. The employees came to look at the scratches and, believe it or not, painted over them. The roof finish is all crooked. Absolutely avoid them.

  Excellent work. Excellent team and everyone was courteous. Steel roof with no visible screws, and full length, which isn't easy to find for 50' lengths. Completely satisfied and I recommend them without hesitation. Thank you to the entire Refait-Toit team!
