  Straight up ghosted me as we were negotiating a contract for a new roof. I contacted the salesman twice by phone and once by email. No response. Really disappointing.

  This company replaced my torched roof which was leaking in the middle of the room, replaced gutters, replaced attic insulation and replaced walls and beams in my family room last 4/29/22. I spent over $20,000 for all these projects. I was given a 25-year flat roof warranty for any leaks WITH NO COST TO REPAIR and Solar Installation leaks after completion of the roof. After a heavy downpour on 11/9/22, my roof leaked ( my roof never leaked in that area before they replaced the new roof. Someone came and glued off what he thought was the leak from the Solar posts. On 12/28/22, after another heavy downpour, my roof leaked again. This time, the leak was worse. I contacted Mario who told me it was due to the Solar posts that was not removed which caused installation of the roof not being done right. He told me that I have to pay for the disassembly/assembly of the Solar panels and cost of the repair to do it right. He also told me that Leon who was the project manager no longer works with them. Basically, he is not honoring the warranty. After Luis removed the shingles and torched layer, he found water pooled in an area far from the solar panels and under the torched layer that they originally replaced. I saw water pooling under the torched layer. Luis mentioned that it was not done right. See attached. Today, Mario tried to collect the cost of the Solar installation and cost of the repairs. I told him that the repairs are under warranty and I am not paying. I do not recommend this company for any projects! They do not even deserve one star! Attached are the original contracts and warranties.

  The project was to take up the clay tile, R&R the underlay and put the tile back. Great job. Also had roof vents put in to cut back on summer heat. After having the house painted, had Protecta roofing put up gutters. All is fine except one section of downspout needs to be installed. Have called the rep and the office numerous times over a period of several weeks leaving messages to please call me back but have not hear anything for over a month. Had the downspout been done I'd give them 5 stars. Now I don't know what has happened to the company.

  Protecta was my number one choice after receiving three roofing bids. I chose Protecta for my roofing project because of Jhonny. He explained the process in an easy & understanding way. His initial visit was 20 minutes tops. Kept to the point and placed my project as a priority. I received my bid within two days. We talked about specifics, timeline, and scheduling. Jhonny worked around my summer vacations and oversaw my project throughout his paternity leave. We agreed to check-ins via texting and spoke over the phone as needed. Protecta’s crew was kind and respectful of our property. They arrived between 8-9am daily and worked full days, cleaning up before they went home. Our house received a new torch down roof and gutters. The install extended a few extra days but Jhonny reassured me the job would be completed to my expectations. The gutters were installed a week after my roof was completed. When choosing Protecta I went with my gut feeling. I immediately felt I could trust Jhonny and he would deliver. My only surprise was how much dust/dirt fell through the cracks of my garage during the teardown. If you prepare for fine dust everywhere, you’ll be fine. Overall, great company to trust with your project. We received new roof, fascia, and gutters.

  From start to finish, the entire team at Protecta Roofing were flawless. After my other two quotes I received I chose Protecta because of their stellar reputation and options for less cost and time then the other companies. Project Manager Diego was easy to communicate with and offered years of experience, knowledge and answers to my questions. The onsite team of Darby, Pedro, Domingo and Pascual were simple to work with and communicate with. Pleasant professionals, too! If you are looking for an upgrade to your existing roof, don't wait till the wet months of El Nino ahead, get it done now! I highly recommend Protecta for all your roofing endeavors.

  We had an outstanding experience with Diego and his team. They replaced the roofs on my parents' house and garage; the quality of their work was exceptional. More importantly, they treated my parents with kindness, patience, and respect throughout the entire process, taking the time to explain every step along the way. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care are truly unmatched. I highly recommend Diego and his team to anyone looking for quality workmanship and outstanding customer service!   Jhonny and Pedro were both very nice, helpful and pretty easy to work with. The company seems to do great work (I can only assume, since I dont know anything about roofing and have to take their word for the work having been done well). But, it looks great and I have a warranty, so I guess I won't worry about it? lol They scheduled us within a couple of weeks and got the work done quickly. My only real problem was... that Jhonny told us, when he gave us our estimate, that they would give us a 2-3% discount for paying cash instead of credit or payments. He said he would have to check with his boss to see how much. But when it came time to settle up, he insisted he never told us that. My husband and I both remember him saying it during the conversation we had during our estimate. And we factored that discount into our final desicion when comparing the quotes we got from 4 different roofing companies. Yes, we should have gotten a final amount from him before hiring them to do the work, but we knew the pricing would change after figuring in all the replacement wood needed. So we didn't think to ask about the discount again until after the job was done. So it was upsetting to have him deny that he offered us that. We still ended up paying cash and he did give us a $300 discount IF we wrote a review for them. But, at 2-3%, it would have been $440-$660 with a $22k bill. And I would have written the review for free. So, anyway.... as far as we know, they did a great job and did it quickly. And even with the discount issue, they still came in a little bit lower than the other 3 companies. But the discount disagreement was disappointing to say the least. Overall, I think they are a pretty reliable company and they have competitive pricing. $5k of the total was for the solar panel handling. Which all the roofing companies charge for.

I selected this company to redo my roof which was a tar and gravel roof of nearly 40 years, Mario and his crew did an exceptional job, very detailed and professional, used the best quality material.   This roofing company responded to my initial inquiry immediately, got over to the house for a quote promptly, answered any and all questions I had regarding their quotes versus other companies with very honest feedback. They showed up when they said they would, communicated the entire time and even went above and beyond out of their way to help us purchase a skylight (which was a last-minute addition to the project). They finished the project within the quoted timeframe and had great follow up at the end. We found them, professional, trustworthy, and overall just nice people. And the were not the most expensive quote, probably cause it’s a smaller company. Hopefully we don’t have any roofing needs in our near future but if we do, we will definitely be using the company again. For reference our project was a complete roof replacement on a roof that was over 30 years old and passed you! They brought things up to code, replaced and repaired the skylight, and fixed any other damage they found along the way.

  After getting quotes from several of the top roofing companies in San Diego, I chose Protecta Roofing and I'm glad I did. From start to finish, my project manager Jhonny was outstanding. He was easy to communicate with, always responsive, and most importantly — honest and trustworthy. In an industry where that can be hard to come by, it made a real difference. Jhonny used a drone to document the roof before and after the project, which gave me great peace of mind and a clear record of the work completed. The photos were excellent and really showed the quality of the finished product. The crew Protecta sent out, with Luis as Foreman, was professional, respectful, and took pride in their work. They treated my property with care throughout the entire project. If you're shopping around for a roofer in San Diego, do yourself a favor and get a quote from Protecta. Ask for Jhonny — you won't be disappointed.

  I worked with Jhonny who was really easy to work with, got us our estimate in a timely manner and organized the crew to get the job done perfectly and on schedule.   Protecta finished our roofing project today and we couldn't be happier with the result. Protecta was very affordable compared to other quotes and Jhonny was so communicative throughout the whole process. Pedro and his crew did really great, detailed work and were very courteous while doing so. Before they left we discussed my next project and I plan on using them again. I highly recommend them.

  Jhonny was very professional and quick to respond to texts and calls. The crew did an excellent job and cleaned up the mess. I solicited numerous bids and Protecta was most affordable. He was accommodating with schedule changes and very easy to work with and stayed on schedule. I would highly recommend the company.
