You are horrible and unfair. Tore up 3 gas lines in my attic causing gas leak and only fixed one leak. Non English speaking crews sent out both days and one day one man cursed 2 sentences in English acting like he did something wrong….well hello. Btw, this job should have been done prior to me closing on the home. Lesson learned. Pelican lied and guaranteed they would do everything right.

Hi Jodi, we apologize for the scheduling delays you experienced and understand how frustrating that can be. After reviewing the situation and confirming with Delta Utilities, the gas line near the chimney was tagged at the location of the leak. If a roofing nail contacted the line, it indicates the line was installed too close to the roof decking, which is not up to code. Because of that, this type of issue falls outside the scope of roofing liability. Our team explained this during the call and advised that the line will need to be evaluated and corrected by the appropriate trade so it can be brought up to code.

This company is just a group of scammers who purchase your personal information through a third party service and repeatedly invade your privacy with unsolicited messages for "free roof inspections." They refuse to tell you who they purchased your personal information from and as soon as you ask, they immediately block your number such that you can't ask further questions to either of the people who messaged me- "Jason" or "Roselle." They also block your number from being able to call either of their office numbers to get answers from them. I know my number was blocked because they answered the phone when called from a different number. Unethical business practices.

Pelican Roofing is a locally owned company that prides itself on operating with integrity. To reach homeowners who may need assistance, we partner with marketing services that identify households in our service areas. We expect these partners to adhere to all communication regulations and honor 'Do Not Call' requests. We are looking into why your information remained in their system after your initial request so we can prevent this from happening again. Regarding your interaction with our team: When a homeowner expresses that they no longer wish to be contacted, our internal protocol is to cease communication immediately. In this instance, our team manually updated our system to ensure no further outreach would occur from our team. We apologize if this felt like a dismissal; it was intended as a definitive step to respect your privacy and ensure your number was removed from our active lists. We are proud of our reputation in South Louisiana for doing things by the books, and we thank you for the chance to address this.

Terrible. I called them to fix some leaks and would have changed the whole roof. I told them some other guys came out tried to caulk it with no success and I don’t want them to come out and add more caulk because it didn’t work the last few times. When Caleb came out he looked at the job and said that they need to change some flashing but the roof panels were good. When his subcontractor came out to do the work, they just put more caulk and added screws and charged me close to 3 grand and that I had a 5 year warranty. After the first rain it still leaked. I called them to come out and check it for warranty and they sent another guy who came out and said they did not do it right and it would cost another thousand to fix it. They actually don’t do the work themselves on metal roofs. They use subcontractors and don’t inspect the work. Their warranty is not worth anything so save yourself some money because they are going to markup the price and send another metal roofer to do the job. The one they sent out is S&S metal. The pics are after they did the job. I guess they couldn’t see all the rusted out capping. I really hate having to pay to do the same job twice

When you first contacted us, you shared that the leak had been persistent and other contractors couldn’t fix it. Although you were prepared to replace the roof, our team advised that the roof itself was in good condition and that targeted repairs were a reasonable first step. The scope of work you reviewed and signed included specific repairs and carried a 1-year warranty. It did not include flashing replacement. After the repairs were completed, our service representative met with you several times and was never informed that the leak was continuing. When a later callback identified flashing as the likely source, a new estimate was provided because flashing replacement was not included in the original signed scope. You were also sent the original estimate showing that flashing work was not part of the approved repairs. We stand by the work performed within the agreed scope and warranty terms. While we regret that the repair did not resolve the issue as hoped, we cannot warranty or cover work that was not included in or performed under the original agreement

I don't normally write reviews, but feel that I need to let other know about my experience with Pelican Roofing. My sales rep made numerous promises that he fail to keep my a long shot. Just to mention a couple, the job did start until over 2 months after he promised. In addition, he totally misquoted the job & expects me to pay for his mistakes. Furthermore, he failed to incorporate their price increase that went into effect in April, even after I requested an updated quote before signing my contract in May. Now, he is trying to get me to pay for his mistakes. He changed the final invoice to include his mistakes after he had already sent me the same final invoice with a different amount. I caution anyone from doing business with the Lafayette office of Pelican Roofing. Followup to my previous post: Yes, I my insurance did change their estimate to cover the architectural shingles. However, my original contract with Pelican had already included the architectural shingles, so there was no change to the contract. The additional decking resulted in Pelican charging me an additional $3,477, which I agreed to & have paid. Please be careful with dealing with Alan.

Mrs. Claire, I am happy we put on a fortified roof for you and it came out great. Regarding the charges, your insurance paid for 3-tab upgrade and mailed you a check for $2600, those proceeds go to Pelican Roofing. You also had 27 sheets of decking that had to be replaced. Alan and his manager tried to have a sit down with you and go over line item by line item but so far you have refused. Please let us know and we will be more than happy to sit with you to explain the charges.

Let me save you the nightmare: do NOT let Pelican Roofing anywhere near your home. In response to Pelicans response: Yes, after fighting with you about numerous “miscommunications” your boss decided to repair the leaking vent and replace my microwave. Why wouldn’t he? This was shortly after you installed a roof, does he not typically warranty his work? This is hardly “making things right”. Making things right would have been honoring the product in the brochure that I was sold. Regarding your statement of the vents not being on the contract.. what a joke! I still have the contract! They are all on there, you DID legally have to replace them, it was literally in writing. Lastly, your representative was less than helpful this go around. The first time out he was great, this time he didn’t even come out before insisting numerous times we should replace the entire roof, just before he belittled my wife with a “oh its not in the cards” comment. We still have the text transcripts from him, and I can assure you the miscommunication is not from our end. All we needed was a quote to fix the roof and a tarp put up. If you as a company genuinely cared about your customers there would have been a tarp installed regardless of you forcing us into contract. A $10 tarp… Us continuing to use you over the years giving you chance after chance should have shown you that we are loyal customers and had you treated as such and installed the tarp, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Also, we didn’t ask for anyone to cover our deposit and that was never brought up. By the time we finally got a quote the weather was coming in and there was no tarp on the roof. Charging us an extra $150 to do what was already promised is not good business. To follow up on this, you quoted us $600 to repair the roof, and we just quoted $375 through a highly reputable competitor of yours. Aren’t we glad we took our business elsewhere! Eight years ago, I was sold an architectural 4-tab shingle roof. W

We’re sorry to read this and genuinely regret that your experience with us has led to this level of frustration. We always aim to provide fair, honest service, and while no company is perfect, we do stand behind our work and the integrity of our team. Your original contract from 2016 clearly specified Owens Corning 3-tab shingles. While there may have been a misunderstanding early on, there was nothing hidden or deceptive. When concerns were raised about the vents, our owner personally addressed them and even replaced them free of charge, though the contract didn’t require it. We covered the cost of your damaged microwave when your roof leaked and sent someone out to clean up after the mess you reported. These weren’t just gestures—they were real efforts to make things right. Regarding your most recent repair request, our rep made multiple attempts to coordinate a solution quickly and even offered to cover the deposit himself to get the job moving. Unfortunately, miscommunication caused delays and confusion. But again, there was no bad intent—just a desire to help. As for your grandmother’s quote, pricing differences are common in this industry. Materials, scope of work, and warranty coverage can vary widely. We don’t inflate prices to take advantage—we quote what’s needed to do the job right. With hundreds of 5-star reviews and years of service in South Louisiana, we’ve built a reputation we’re proud of. We're sorry this has been your experience, but we stand by the efforts we made and the professionalism of our team throughout.

Will inspect any roof, tried to tell a neighbor their 2yr old roof had damage. Luckily I knew about this company and warned him about their predatory tactics. I told him how they just try to make as many claims as they can damages or not they hope the insurance company pays out. They won’t tell you how much the insurance company is paying them. They’ll just tell you that you just have to pay your deductible. If your insurance pays more money, you don’t get a better roof. They just make better profits.

We’re aware that this review was left by a former employee who was terminated due to ongoing performance issues. While we typically don’t respond to personal attacks, we take accusations of unethical behavior very seriously. Pelican Roofing does not engage in predatory tactics. Our inspections are thorough, honest, and always backed by documentation. We work directly with homeowners and their insurance providers to ensure all covered damages are properly addressed—nothing more, nothing less. We’re proud of our reputation in the community, built on integrity, transparency, and customer trust. Anyone with questions about our process is encouraged to contact us directly.

I cannot believe that after 10 years of continuing to use this company and after them giving me a lesser roof than I paid for that they would treat me this way. $150 to come tarp a tiny spot on my roof because the guy wanted to come alone and couldn’t get it done? Oh and your “sales guy” ignored me 4 times on the phone to say the same thing over and over. Ridiculous. Can’t believe that I was going to even give them another chance. Oh and I also don’t know how the warranty works but the spots that keep messing up on my roof are where they have previously repaired. I will gladly find someone else for my roofing needs.

    Reply from the business

We understand your frustration, and we’re genuinely sorry you feel let down—especially after being a long-time customer. That kind of loyalty means a lot to us, which is why we want to clarify what happened during this recent visit. When our representative came out, he brought a roll of underlayment from his truck and attempted to tarp the area himself at no cost as a courtesy. Unfortunately, wind gusts over 30 mph made it unsafe and difficult for him to do it alone. Because of that, he contacted one of our crews to properly secure the tarp. The $150 charge that followed was not a surprise fee—it’s actually a significant discount from our standard emergency tarping rate, which typically requires more labor and materials. This wasn’t about making a quick buck; it was about protecting your home quickly and safely under tough conditions. As for your concerns about warranty work—our records and photos show that the most recent damage was in a different location than previous repairs. And while there were missed phone connections during the process, our rep made several efforts to reach you and get things resolved quickly. We're sorry this has been your experience, but we stand by the efforts we made and the professionalism of our team throughout.

We had a great experience with Pelican Roofing after going through multiple companies to find someone to help us with our new roof through an insurance claim. We worked with Alan from day one, and he was able to get us an answer within about a week. He was incredibly helpful and communicative throughout the entire process. Colby was there on installation day, and we had a great experience with him as well. Both Alan and Colby, along with Pelican as a company, were professional, responsive, eager to help, and truly went above and beyond to make the process as easy as possible for us. We absolutely love our new roof and are so happy we chose Pelican Roofing. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a roofing company!

Finally making the decision to change my roof was a big one. I got several estimates. My decision came down to the respect and appreciation Eric had for me, my money and my time. Anyone can put a roof on your house. For me, the difference was Eric. He answered ALL my questions and was so patient with me as I made decisions on roofing color and end caps. Jeremy and his crew were great. They made sure they left my yard, driveway and patio clean. I am glad it's done! Thanks Pelican Roofing!

I was very satisfied with work that Pelican Roofing did on my roof. I would recommend their company for residential and commercial. My roof was at least 20yrs old, with a few leaks. I called and Pelican Roofing sent someone out . Once checked I was shown areas of concern. I decided to have all the screws changed on my roof due to the small washers and some screws showing age and deterioration. Now I feel much better knowing that was taken care of.

How much does a roof replacement cost in Acadiana? It's the first question almost every homeowner asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on four things: • The size and pitch of your roof — steeper roofs take longer and cost more to work • The material — asphalt shingle sits at one end, standing seam metal at the other • The condition of the decking underneath — rot found mid-project changes the number • Whether storm damage makes it an insurance claim rather than an out-of-pocket job Most full roof replacements in Lafayette fall between $7,500 and $17,600+, including materials, labor, tear-off, disposal, and the required parish permit (ALL roof replacements require a permit!). A roofing square is a 10-foot by 10-foot area of roof, or 100 square feet, and is the standard unit roofers use to measure and price a job. What we tell homeowners before quoting anything: have it inspected first. A meaningful share of the roofs we look at need a repair, not a replacement — and that is a very different number. We're booking free inspections across Lafayette, Youngsville, Broussard, Scott, and Carencro this week, August 17–22. Book online to find out where your roof actually stands.2 days ago
