  I called Mid State to schedule an appointment for an estimate. The person I talked with was friendly and took my info and told me someone would be calling me to set up the day and time. I waited a little over 3 weeks and heard nothing so I called them back. I was then told Mid State does not give estimates for residential customers. I told the person I was talking to that it would have been nice if someone called me to tell me this instead of having me wait for nothing. I got the feeling from her that I was not important at all. She then asked me if I would like them to come out for $300+ minimum charge and do the work ,if it was going to cost more I would be responsible for paying that. I would like to be able to put such things as a roof repair into my budget so I would need an estimate first. Needless to say I told her I would be giving my business to another company. If you have a leak Mid State will NOT TAKE A PEEK as their commercial states.

The investment amount for a residential service repair is $335.00 if the combative efforts can be performed within that budget. Should the repair efforts needed be noted to exceed the $335.00 amount, our on-site technicians will provide you with an estimate free of charge as well as photographs to show the concerns in need. The $335.00 investment is not a site visit charge. I wasn't able to find you in our records for a service visit however at the time of this review.   Mid State overcharged for my repair. 1 year later and my window is leaking in the same place as their repair. When I contacted them, they refused to repair it without charging again. I can't recommend at this time.

  Called a week ago today. The person that answered the phone took my information and told me the person that did the appraisal would call me and setup a time. Still haven't heard from them. Nice way to do business!!!!

  I called Mid State Roofing on July 6 after hearing multiple ads on the radio about them and how wonderful their service was, from small jobs to large. I needed someone to take a look at my gable vents on either side of my roof, as the wood appeared to be rotten and one side of one of the vents had shifted out away from the side of the house and there was a large hole there. I needed to know if a repair was possible or if I needed to replace. The man on the phone informed me that it may be a couple of weeks before someone got into contact with me to come out because they were dealing with repairs from a recent storm. I said that was fine and gave him all my information: name, address, phone number. To this day, October 2, I have NEVER received a return phone call from anyone at Mid State Roofing and have since had to seek service from someone else. Now every time I hear the Mid State ad on the radio, I am reminded of how the work on my house must not have been big or important enough.

  We were presented with what we felt was an exorbitant bill for the hours spent. We asked if we could have a couple of days to look it over (thinking the pages behind the total bill would show a breakdown) and were told sure. All it actually showed was a total price and a bunch of nice pictures which are good to have. When we had the audacity to ask for an itemized list of hours worked and materials used we were presented with one on the same day. However, it was given to us in a surly manner and we were told he wasn't leaving until he received a check. We were not about to write the check until we reviewed the itemization. We were then told "I'll call the police." And replied, go ahead. We had done nothing wrong. He had already found a "mistake" of $741 and had reduced the bill by that amount. Gee, I wonder if we had paid them at completion of the job and not asked for an itemization if that mistake ever would have been corrected? The work was done adequately but what we felt was in an inefficient manner at times. There was never a question as to our paying the bill. We simply wanted to see exactly what we were paying for. We had kept track of the hours ourselves and they didn't come up to the total we were presented with. We were not aware that they included their loading the truck and their travel time as "hours worked." Our fault for not asking but we had never run into that before and it would have been nice to know that up front. Obviously we won't be using this company again. We felt insulted and threatened for no reason.

  This was the same compliant filed with the BBB and was determined by BBB to be completely invalid. By the client’s own admission, the project was performed as contracted and at no time was there ever a concern until the project was complete and a request for payment was made. We did need to repeatedly request payment and were ultimately forced to arrive on site to seek payment in person and our methods of collection were performed in a completely ethical manner, as is also echoed in the decision made by the BBB to refuse this as a legitimate complaint.   They charge $65 for residential estimates.

  The $65 charge was not for an estimate but for a complete evaluation of the existing situation. Had a contract been accepted for a repair or replacement, the evaluation fee would have been completely credited to your services as was explained at the time of your original call. As an effort to save a client’s money, we offer complete visual evaluation rather than an estimate realizing that many times a roof can be salvaged without the need replacement.
