Hi Spencer, it’s the “him” you were referring to in your response to Amber Blackwood (aka my wife, aka the owner of the property your services were provided at, aka your client). your condescending comments in reference to her writing a review for someone she “knows” are a prime example of the lack of respect and integrity your customers can expect to receive when doing business with you. There are 100s of roofing contractors in the DFW area, I recommend anyone reading this learn from our mistake and choose another one.

Dear Mr. Williams; My most sincere apology if you think I have disrespected you or your wife. All knowledge I had about this case was in reference to Shawn Williams, as the sales person did input all information under Shawn Williams and the review came from Amber Blackwood. She does not share your last name so I had no idea she is your wife. I also apologize for not knowing the name of every client that we have, possibly more than 2,500. The PM that directed the roof replacement never mentioned to me the name or last name of your wife, it was always your first and last name. I have never presented a lack of respect to you nor Mrs. Blackwood. I did answer her review and explain the reason why we were not paying for your tires. Again, I apologize for my mistake of not recognizing Mrs. Blackwood. I am sorry for the bad experience that you have had and we will work hard to be sure that no one else has such experience as our client. I apologize for the PM that was not able to see the 52 nails on your driveway and for not following up with you. Nonetheless, and I am sure you understand, that requesting a refund on tires after more than 30 days from a job completion and the replacements of those tires done more than 250 miles away from the job brings many questions.

Edit: The vehicles in question that had to receive 2 tire replacements from left over nails were not present at the time of service, as we were out of town. We arrived back home on June 29th after our roof replacement from June 23rd. We parked both of our work vehicles & let them sit until July 21st (our next work trip.) The same day, after traveling less than 300 miles, our trailer tire had a blowout. Looking at the tire, we found 1 lodged nail inside. The next day, yes traveling 200 more miles, we had another blowout on our RV & found 2 lodged nails inside. (Not sure the owner of the company understands how that works- it takes time for nails that are lodged inside tires to cause damages. You can drive HUNDREDS of miles before damages can be caused. A simple physics class & google search can tell you that, sir.) Also left out, when we returned back home from that work trip on August 18th, before driving on the property, we used a rolling magnet on our gravel drive & front property (1 acre) to then find 49 other nails that could have caused even more damage. Also would like to point out that the owners response was just like I thought it would be. Condescending, Rude & Lacking Accountability. Oh BTW, I OWN the property in question. You were working with my husband the entire time, but you were also working with me. My name might not have been on the “invoice” but I am definitely “someone he knows.” WHAT A JOKE. I will be contacting the BBB now. Have a nice day sir. BEWARE of this company. We had our roof replaced back in June ‘23. I had already written a review & here is what happened: I left a 3 star review due to multiple (52) nails found throughout our driveway that caused 2 blowouts on a trailer & RV. The woman we were working with was super kind in helping us & let us know we could receive a refund due to the two tire replacements that the company caused from the leftover old roofing nails. (AS any roofing company should offer.) We were not concerned about th

Dear Mrs. Blackwood. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. All reviews help us to improve our service. I am Spencer and I am the owner of Mastercraft. As I was going over this review, I could not find any records of you in our system. After “digging” a bit more about your name (the name on the review) is in reference to a different client whom I believe you “know”? Since you are the one typing this for him, I will be glad to respond. I am aware that the owner of the property in question was contacted by our COO. I am also aware that he denied the payment of your tires and the reason was as follows. Your roof was replaced in June this year (2023). You present us 2 invoices. One from July 21st for $313.91 for new tires that the client replaced in Houston; that is exactly 207 miles via TX-90 and I-45N or 189 miles if the drive from your location was via I-45N. The second receipt you send for us to pay was for the very next day on two more tire replacements for $428.84. This time from Louisiana. Exactly 190 miles from your previous location in Houston and 330 miles from the property where the roof was replaced. As you can understand I have to question these flats after more than one month since the roof was replaced and driving for more than 2 hours on the first tire replacement and more than 3 on the second. You could absolutely have had those flats on the way to your destination. It is very hard for us to believe that after 30 days those flats were consequence of our roof replacement. As our operations manager did share, Irina is an exceptional person. I am quite surprised that with her professionalism, that you also share, she was not on top of her job and did not take care of “nails”. I insist, it is hard for me to believe that Irina left the job site and left 52 nails on the driveway. Especially as she did stay behind until the crew completed the job and cleaned the job site. I am very sure that you are caring for our future clients and their tires. W

put on wrong material on patio roof. I was not home most of the year and called them when i noticed a corner had gotten wet and rotted < particle board>. their expert came out and said they put on the wrong type of roof for it being as flat as it was. Mastercraft said their warranty was void because i did not call them within 72 hrs of the issue. I called as soon as i saw it and again let me state they put on the wrong type of roof and want me to pay for replacement. I paid $10,000 for my roof from them and now they will not hold up their end without me paying again.

Mr. Dick Baker (oldshield). My name is Jason Crowsey. I am actually the majority owner of MasterCraft Roofing and I am very familiar with this claim. You are leaving out a lot of KEY INFORMATION pertaining to this warranty claim. I understand your frustration, but the claim you have made is NOT from a ROOF leak! Your roof was put on in May of 2014. The roof on your actual home is not leaking. It is the ADD-On back patio that is leaking. We did re-roof that low slope section, but a product called ICE & Water Shield was properly installed under the roof material. I wish I could add photos because it would prove the leak is not from the roof. This patio cover is open underneath and not even properly attached to the house. The actual RAFTER you used was not properly attached to the house, nor is it the treated wood. Exposed wood not painted or treated will rot and especially the OSB particle board you used for the exposed decking. The other issue is that this roof was done in May of 2014 and now in Dec 2018...…… 4 and a half years later you are just now calling?? This patio is so broken and rotted..... it is not repairable. It takes years of a leak to do this type of damage. There is NO WAY you did not see the entire rear patio falling off the side of the house where it was improperly installed. Not only was it improperly installed, but it is run directly under the roof valley where there is also a tree overhanging. You can see in the photos where you have obviously just now removed the pile of 4.5 years of fallen tree branches and leaves that have built up over the area in discussion. You have low sloped roof that catches all the leaves and sticks and acorns etc..... that have fallen there. Especially in a valley that does not flow off the roof. The valley of your roof runs all rain and debris on to this section of the improperly installed patio framing. When you do not get that off every winter......it just builds up and causes damage to roofs. Even after explaining

Josh provided advice like friend throughout the process. He followed up consistently and if he didn’t have an immediate answer to a question, he would find out and was very quick with a response. Happy with the new roof and even happier with the service provided.

This review is about MASTERCRAFT ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION but specifically about one of their employees Josh Finecy. I have worked with Josh on two State Farm roof damage claims over the last year. His dedication to the task and his knowledge regarding roofing are exemplary. Josh has a fantastic personality which really shines interfacing with customers, insurance adjusters and his fellow contractors. i especially enjoy his communication skills. i am always kept up to date on the progress of the job. Josh manages a large number of projects but he has always been available when I needed him. Josh is a true professional and is an outstanding representative of his company. Ben & Jackie Watson

I had Mastercraft RAC working with me on two major projects this summer and fall. I had severe hail damage to a rental property, which required much more than just a roof replacement. I must say, am grateful for the conscientious, thorough and professional service provided! Spencer Boyle oversaw the whole process, beautifully coordinating all of the subcontractors for each phase. I am particular, and often want details of a project to be done in specific ways. He listened, and got it done to my satisfaction every time. My experience was so good, that I decided to do a couple of concrete projects at that property as well, they came out just as well, and, as hoped. When hail then hit my own residence this fall, it was a no brainer to continue my association with Spencer and Mastercraft for that work and the side projects surrounding it. Altogether very happy with the completed jobs at both sites!!
